View Full Version : Who is the SISSY now? Mash or Siddons?

When Mash said all he cares about the series win, doesn't matter if its 3-2 or 5-0. Most people in this forum started calling him sissy. Most people didn't want to see the sissy as captain (their wish came true).

Now the most popular man of BC over the last couple of years, Sir Siddons says the same thing. I would like to know what you think of him now. You still want to see him as the head coach?

Coach jodi erokom chinta kore then players der ki dosh?

"The way we played against New Zealand, we should beat Zimbabwe. But they are also an improving team and we will have to be at our best to beat Zimbabwe," said Siddons.

"I'm not concerned about the final scoreline, we just have to make sure we win the series, it doesn't matter whether it's 3-2. Most importantly I want all the players to step up unlike the last series which in most cases was a one-man show."

Perhaps, they dont want to put any added pressure on the team?

But, why are they all hell bent on mentioning a 3-2 as an example! There must be other ways of playing it cool -right?

there have been those of us that have disliked Siddons and called for his head for his sissyness from the get go :)

Thank You..I was waiting for someone to say exactly what you have just said. Well done....When Mash said something like "I do not care if it's 5-0 or 3-2 I care about winning the series, Zim is a strong side and all" , then many of us started calling him sissy..And now the word "sissy" is a famous one here :)

There is nothing wrong with respecting the ZIM team but there is something wrong in being scared to live up to your potential. I don't expect the series to be a cake walk but I expect us to gut it out when it does get tough.

We can not fall behind in game 1 in a disadvantegeous position and relax knowing there are 4 other games to play. We need to give it all to pull out the win and believe that we can.

Being satisfied with a 3-2 result is likely to become a self fulfilling propechy.

I'd rather have talk like this from the coaches than what Fountain said. Granted, we should always aim to win every match we play, but at least its not as damaging as underestimating your opponent.

If I were forced to choose, I'd take a coach who is a "sissy" over one that is arrogant any day.

First of all, congrats to the 3rd SISSY branded thread of the month!

So where to begin, I don't actualy see where and what JS said was bad/wrong but what Mortaza said was not correct and not the right mindset. Imagine him as a captain saying this ...

This is nothing new. JS always has been a sissy.

Ok, I will make things easy for you all so you don't have to keep wondering who is sissy and who isn't. Besides Tamim, Shakib, Shahadat (he just lacks a bit of brain), all are sissies. Rubel and Safiul are the next two badass in making. And Riyad and Naeem was turned to sissy group. I can't decide on Rahim.

Ex badass: Rafique and Aminul Islam. Rest were major sissy

Oh ya Pilot. He was a great specialist wicket-keeper. He wasn't flashy like McCullum, nor was he quick like Gilly. But he held his chances. He did his best with the bat. Often his best wasn't good enough. We will always remember him for that 6!

Call me a sissy, but 2 men are not enough to win the whole WC.

Most of the series we played in recent times have been one man show, at least in batting dep. WI series was great with Riyad and other guys stepping up in different times.

Baundule
November 30, 2010, 06:13 AM
I do not call him a sissy. Throughout his tenure he has been expressing our level lower than it actually is. It gives him a breathing space to his job. For example, if our scoring ability is 250, while the coach mentions that we are able to score 200, then scoring 240 is considered as a great improvement and a great achievement on the coach's part. On the other hand, if the coach mentions that we can score 280 against Zim, then scoring 260 will be considered as an under-achievement and the coach can be under fire.

This time, as usual, he is playing it safe for his contract. After beating NZ 4-0, we are expected to get a 5-0 series win. Anything less than that will be considered as a failure of the team. But Zimbabwe is a fighting side, they have put us under pressure in the past and they can do it this time as well. So, the possibility of our losing one or two matches can not be eradicated. If that happens, JS will play his hand 'I told you so' and if it goes as expected (5-0), JS will take the extra credit. He can ask for a raise even with a 4-1 win, which is an improvement compared to his stated level of 3-2.

There's a difference between saying the series will be a difficult one and that we don't mind losing two. You can still win a difficult series 5 - 0. Shak is right. Mash and Siddons need the whip.

I cant see much of a difference Asif vai. My understanding is both said they want the series, 5-0 or 3-2 is immaterial. That was the reason I said Shak may be sissyfied...

Ah, I see. I was going by post #8...
Shakib says "Series wont be easy" Has he been sissyfied???
...but didn't really read the article.

If he did mention a scoreline of 3-2, then well, I guess there's no point for us to be playing cricket until we find a real man to lead us.

In the meantime, off to the NHL thread, where everyone wants to win.
