Guys a question...,, under dew conditions, which type of bowling is more difficult, spin or pace, in terms of grip and delivery?

^^i think the performance of the spinners tells you the story in itself... the lack of turn and control is probably due to the difficulty in gripping and imparting the necessary rotation on the ball

Really looking forward to the Warm up games now... Our team must thrash Canada and get into the groove...

However its the game against Pakistan that will indicate where we stand in this world cup... we should be able to beat this side if we are dreaming of semi-finals...

I think playing Shuvo would mean that our tail will be a bit long... we would have Rubel, Shafiul, razzak and shuvo as the last four batters and thats a problem... Suppose we need 70 off the last 10... banking on these guys to get it for us won't be possible...

This is why I foresee Mahmudullah and Naeem both playing in the lineup along with Shakib and Razzak

Never a good idea to pack a team with too many bits and bobs players/all-rounders (or whatever you may call). There is an age old adage in cricket which runs something along "if six batsmen can't do it; seventh will not". The trick behind a good side is the fine balance between its batting and bowling prowesses. Therefore, to make the tail wag one cannot just sacrifice the bowling thus disturbing the balance. Naeem, for example, is a "batting" all-rounder(!) where Shuvo is a proven (U19, Academy, FC and ODIs) spin bowler who can bat a bit. In terms of bowling capabilities between the two Shuvo wins it hands down.

The competition for a place in the playing XI will be so fierce that I cannot even find a place for Riyad in my Eleven. For Riyad to come in one or two from Nafees, Junaid and Rock needs to be dropped. Knowing Siddons Raqib plays and so he should. My philosophy is simple pick six specialist batsmen who are each capable of getting a century and four genuine bowlers each capable of picking up a five-for. One genuine all-rounder plus the Wickie who is a specialist bat. Simple! :)

gripping gets too difficult for spinners under dew conditions.pacers can do better with the wet ball

Good news for Mashrafe Bin Mortaza ...Doctor David said he can play the world cup 2011 ...The way( Mashrafe) is recovering he will be fit before World cup...said by Doctor David...but the finally decision( BCB) will take as soon as possible.

Poor Nazmul he will probably get axed to make space for Mash. If this ends up happening all the norail people will now think their 'hortal' did the trick

Can BCB still replace a fit player after already submitting the squad?

I thought that wasn't possible. But some people said BCB has up till Feb 8th or 9th to change the team.

I think they can. thats why the practice camp including 23 players still going on. From the 9th February they(15) will be separated from 23 and will be staying at hotel too! until then the team can be changed upon application by team manger which will be reviewed by ICC Technical Board

Mash is not playing it right.

I would take him as the 3rd pacer if he was fit. He is too poor after his first spell and awful in final overs. in these regards, Shafiul and rubel both have been proven better than him.

He should just digest that he is not in the WC team, and try hard to be fit for playing longer for the country in future.

BCB can't just say Nazmul is injured and drop him to bring Mash like they did in the past. Because it's WC. ICC will be checking in.

And ya, this will just encourage the hortal. There will be hortal for everything from now on

in 'some' occasions.... who isnt? :)

anyway... now that he is in the squad and will very likely make it to the starting 11 in several matches... i hope he gives his 200% and contributes to the team.

I know zeeshan bhai
infact that video reminded me that he was a good fielder on some occasion otherwise without the video footage i was gonna say that picture is just a fake pose and he's a terrible fielder as one can be.

back in 2007 we beat NZ in the warm ups and then went on to beat India... this time we need to win against pakistan...which we should do considering they are without Amir and Asif... and there is no real star in the top order for pak either... Younis is useless these days... the only danger is Afridi and his fluke innings... but we do have ashraful with his fluke innings to counter that also... so looking forward to that match...

rakib doesn't deserve to be there..

Rakib is one of the very few, proper cricketer/batsman in our team. By proper batsman I mean the players who are used to playing mostly orthodox shots.

These types of players are generally dependable. But they may be scoring at a slower rate. They are immensely important for the team in certain occassions, even in ODIs. ODI isn't all about hitting only.

Who would you bring if you drop him? Any player proven better than him in international level, is sittng out?

i wish bangladesh would have the following combination

Tamim Iqbal bat
Imrul Kayees bat
Zunaid Sid bat
Shakib bat/Spin bowl
Raqib bat
Kapali bat/Spin bowl
Nafees bat
Naeem bat/Spin bowl
Mortaza Seam bowler/bat
Rasel Seam bowler
Shahadat Seam bowler

do u agree with my list?????????????????
