in the 46.2 overs that BD bowled today we only conceded 0 wides and 0 no-balls
i am not sure whether this happened in world cricket before.
we only conceded 9 Leg Byes as extras.
also today we only used 5 bowlers... the 5 specialsit bowlers we had. we did not need to use the part timer (riad) today. which is rare for BD where team normally consists lots of bits and pieces players.
if Ned was able to bat 50 overs, we probably would have seen all 5 bowlers finishing 10 overs

impressive. The two drop catch one loppa was the only blemish. Well done boys and the coaches.

Appreciate Ponts work. He really have decent job with bowling. Rajjak not giving any wide is quite strange for me.

Good job. Outfielding was impressive, lot's of energy in the field.
1. Razzak was poor in the field, back his usual self.
2. Shuvo was amazing
3. Mushy was great in patches, but dropped an absolute sitter

I still think Mash+Rasel in the last workd cup was a better opening pair than Shafiul+Rubel.

^Indeed they were. They were also far more expereinced when they played the WC I believe. These guys are very young, playing in their first WC, so its but natural that they have a long way to go. They havent disappointed though.

Since my arrival the quicks have not bowled a single no ball (free hit) in 15 internationals...
I think they boys are totally focused on what they must do now with the ball as well.

Our opening bowlers (S+R) is currently doing great. Thanks Pont for your hard work.
However, I do believe their true test will be how they continue to handle pressure situations. Hopefully we will see a rematch of Shafiul vs power hitting (kind of shewag's hitting) and this time Shafiul will return as the winner :)

Here it is, plenty to prove in front of the world that we are no joke,
Graeme Smith lbw Shafiul wrong reads the in-swinger Plumb
Hashim Amla b Shafiul beaten by pace, middle stump travelled close to hit Rahim
Ab De Villiers b Shafiul sweet out swing kisses the top of the bail on off-stump
Jacques Kallis c&b Shafiul Sweetly disguised off-cutter, slower delivery
Here it comes chokers

That is some impressive number Coach. 15 Intl. without a noball ! You have done a great job. If you can get Shahadat 15 games without a noball, I will personally start the campaign of "Pont for Prime Minister".

Define "sitter".
If you can...please.

Thant is amazing! But coach, I really think Rubel got away with some legside drifting balls. The batsmen could not dispatch those due to the pressure created in the other end. I would have loved see the quickies hunt in pair. I am dismayed by Sakib's decision of not handing Rubel the new ball when Shafiul was producing a metronomic (AKA McGarth) spell. That was an excellent missed opportunity. By the way, how much faster Shafiul is bowling since you arrived? When are you going to unvail the "butterfly" ball?

"Sitter" is a chance that you can take without having to maneouver your body (e.g. coming straight to you with flight/loop not flat). Mushy's missed opportunities of Cooper and Eoin were not of that catagory but comes fairly close. The yeterday's one was very simple one. He was not even following the balls trajectory. It was within his reach and being short actually was an asset on this occasion.

He is too slow. He needs to work on that.

Mushfiq is short so the ball just hit the outside edges of the glove, had he been couple of inches taller the ball would be well within the palms.

Kabir bhai, I am a great fan of Mushy but the catch he missed should be gobbled up 10 out 10 times, fairly regulation catch. but he has been very cricket smart in this world cup (prior dismissal and that run-out today).
As for the bowlers, simply amazing. Only a few months ago, these two pace bowlers were very wayward but, now they are consistenly demonstrating great control. Augurs well for the future. Just hope the good work is continued after the world cup.

Shafiul has bowled a ball at 140 kph this WC, so I am pleased with that, but he is not trying to crank up his pace on our slow pitches. he is trying to control the ball and we have succeeded in giving him plans to stick to. I am very pleased with Shafiul. I said this before but he has the ability with that swing to become a world-class bowler and possibly the best BD has ever had in time. We will only know in 10 years though!
Rubel bowls best IMO with a new ball. The ball is hard and can move in the air. So I am always reluctant to lose that advantage. Rubel has bowled a ball at 149.2 in this WC but like Shafiul is working on controlling his emotions and being professional when he is 'doing his job'.
Butterfly hasn't been bowled sadly, but it is there if we need it! Ryad is also working on bowling it, too by the way :)

Thats fantastic, Riyad already has a top-spinner/doosra, with a butterfly up his sleeve, he could be a handful.

Hi Coach,
Correct me if I am wrong, just from observation it seemed that Razzaq was not getting the same kind of drift against Neds as he got during the England match. Which is why I feel Razzaq did not look as threating against the Neds although the stats would show otherwise. But would you agree with the observation? If you do, is there any particular science behind the drift a he generated against England and why he failed against Orange?

We need a repeat of this type of disciplined bowling if we are to have ANY chance against SA. Otherwise, we can kiss WC goodbye until 2015.

I want to smoke what you're smoking - apparently I find problem with everything, so perhaps that will make it easier for me to ignore those mental issues i see in some of our players.
