The Necessity of a Bangladeshi Sports Channel

A country now with a population of around 160 million and the spirit and passion of millions of sports fanatics, to be precise, cricket fanatics are deeply in need of a sports channel that can protect their own interests.
I, like many, am tired of watching the cricket matches of Bangladesh in the 'famous' BTV with so many lovely (!) breaks. Besides BTV, it seems that our home matches are broadcasted in Neo Cricket as 3rd priority and according to their own wish!
Its time for a change. We need a sports channel and I find the Government to be the best choice right now. They can make channels on The Parliament Sessions(How many ppl watch that channel only Allah knows) so why cant they take this initiative which seems much simpler.
I know making a channel is not 'chheler haater mowa' but it isn't impossible for sure.
What do you think?

To add to that, the channel being made can broadcast the FC matches, NCL, PCL, Premier league etc. And also the highlights of the BD matches which many ppl including me will be happy to enjoy over n over again.

If we were really good at sports then maybe they will, Why would they make a cricket channel when we lose pretty much every match against good teams? When we get better we will probably get a channel

I backfire- Why would they make a channel on Parliament and waste all that money? A sports channel will have more viewers than any other channel in Bangladesh!

A sport channel doesn't deal with Cricket only , neither cricket is only sport in Bangladesh. And its not just about international matches. A sport channel is supposed to telecast national,club,league matches and specially sporting event like south Asian championship,Asian games,SAAF football etc along with regular sports related program,talk show, quiz show,review etc. Its supposed to be huge business and yes it is around the world. But who cares in Bangladesh. we have 20+ same category Bangla channel based on telecom tvc and nepotism but nobody dare to launch a sports channel.money fanatics are busy in self promoting via their own tv.

I know that we don't but there is no problem in hiring these people. We can arrange trainings for the cameramen of our country as well.
Bottomline is, when there is a will, there is a way.

His so called 24 hours news channel ATN News is a pretty low one. I expected a better one. But if there is anyone gonna open a 24 sports channel it's going to be him for sure.

Starting up a 24 hour sports channel is 'easy' enough, but you want to show the NBA, PL, Seria A, La Liga, IPL, etc etc...who is going to fork out the hundreds of millions necessary?

India has dedicated sports channels(Star Cricket being an example) but these are subscription channels...Good luck trying to start something like that in bd in the short term :)

Tk. 300-400 a month for 60-70 channels, and people STILL steal cable.

Umm...no, he has loads of money invested in the share market i.e in his company but thats not his money. That money belongs to the investors. The richest man here doesnt even have 1200 koti!

You mean, a pay channel. Yes obviously and I know sum1 will open one channel in the near future and I believe at least a few BC ers will remember me as the thread starter regarding a sports channel. ;)
