Todays pitch was a national highway, flat and docile. A batsmen paradise. A 330-335 is a par score in this pitch. And we still cant cross 300 and lose by 66 runs. Is there anything positive to take from this series?

Mahmudullah at Number 4.
SNs ability to bat against non-minnows [albeit he can still do better]
Imruls last knock and the need to play that way.
Partnerships.
Mushys knock.

calm down mate, when we scored 296 against India in the WC( who had one of the crappiest bowling attacks in the tournament, bar Zaheer) the whole country was satisfied because we gave a gd performance, even though we didnt win and the target was 380 or smthg, today we scored 295 against an aussie bowling attack which is like 50 times better, and we got runs from almost every one, and one of the biggest 2nd wicket partnerships you will ever see against Aus ever again.
Be satisfied, maybe if we got 58 again you'd be happy

Aussies know how to bowl yorkers/slower balls/bouncers etc and bowl at good pace. Can't blame the batsmen at all for todays loss. Bowlers bowled a lot of trash especially the pacers. You can't get away with such stuff against Aussies.

Did you really think we could have chased down 360? Just be happy that they scored 295. We needed this after 58 and 78, I am happy with their performance especially Kayes.

Agree, if the opposition scores 250+ then BD gets scared and scores 200+; if they score 350+ then BD goes for it and ends up ~300. Either way we lose by 50+ runs.
Well we will be getting a new management, something has to change. Looking forward to Zim test.

The biggest positive is that we have found a better middle order. Nafees & mullah replacing junaid and rock.
And aussies couldnt take 10 wickets once this series.

well, chasing 362 total was a mammoth task, to be honest. if we remember playing against Aussie bowling, chasing such total is not impossible for team like India or SA but not team like us, thats reality. But I would have been little more pleased to see SN had intent of charging the bowlers when it required, specially not hitting fulltosses of smith's. Other batsman like Shakib, Rahim they just came and went back quickly, probably they could have waited a little time for PP. Alok Kapali was there who looked bit nervous which very natural at the situation after coming back from two years long break. I was not expecting anything special from Alok when the other day notout batsman Rahim came out and got out quickly, so did Shakib..there is no reason why I should blame ALok. People here balmes lots of players easily, like the other day Imrul played some 42 balls and scored 7, people were asking for his head, same Imrul scored big total today, what can you say. So, I say patient and give time and chance to the players whoever make into team. Don't get to easily to negative approach about our players!!
I enjoyed Imrul's batting very much, also Mullah played very well. Overall the team looks getting confidence back after the WC shockers !!

I agree to some extent. We scored 180 in 30 overs with 9 wickets in hand. As they say, you should be able to double your score in the last 20 overs. Especially with 9 wickets in hand.
Basically they failed to execute their plan in the last few overs.
With the innings Kayes played, if Tamim could have scored around 100 from 80, this game would've been alot closer. He needs to consistently build on his starts.

Has anyone else noticed how the captain always deflects the batting (and HIS batting) with "we didn't bowl well (on a flat, easy pitch against the number one side on the planet by the way but forget that)... especially at the end and the beginning (when Watson/Hussey is on fire and almost impossible to bowl at but forget that)..... (and we select a bowler who is not fit but forget that)"
Is he ever going to admit that Tamim not being able to bat for more than 10 overs is a liability? Or that he himself hasn't been able to score 100s this year when we needed it?
Alok Kapali bowls well and gets just 2 overs... what the heck?
I am fed up with the excuses, excuses, excuses to deflect from his and Tamim's personal lack of world class batting despite everyone always saying how 'wonderful' they are. Time to man up and the captain to take FULL RESPONSIBILITY and say "the Mirpur wicket doesn't favour pace bowling but rather spin and batters. It is our batters and spinners we rely on to win matches... I am not here to blame the pacers.." But of course SAH is both a batter and a spinner so will not do that...
Yes it's great the batsmen did well today... a real one-off so let's celebrate. Many here have advocated Ryad to bat at 4 and he repays that faith. But the first words from SAH are always blaming others rather than standing up and being counted personally.
Weak leadership to blame others...

Hold up we scored close to 300 runs against Australia, and still lost by 60+ runs, yet the gripe is with the batsmen?
Good God.
I thought we were going to lose by 150 runs, because of the weight of pressure. Instead we went out there, and got our 2nd highest score EVER against a proper side.

I am quite happy with our batting performance today. Let's be realistic here, we just don't have it in us to chase down 360 runs against a top team like Australia. However our pace dept needs major work. Since Australia has so many quality pace bowlers, they did not have any problems smacking our pace bowlers out of the park. BCB seriously needs to look into developing quality pace bowlers who can regularly complete and be successful in the international arena. We can't just rely on spin bowling and expect to win matches. Also Mahmudullah needs to be brought up in the batting order. He is definitely being wasted at the number seven spot.
