Hopefully by then our ODI unit will be in form and settled, and we will have a proper fast bowling pair. Rubel and Mashrafe to be in their peak hopefully.

West Indies have not visited us for 9 years either. For some reason a few teams have been avoiding us. These kind of teams should be touring us more often than India, SL, SA & Aus imo.

actually that's very unfair of those boards. you are supposed to pay back for a tour by touring that country in return, so that that board gets to earn as well. IIRC PCB threw a hissy fit after BCB canceled the last tour following the BDR affair, which was strange because it was for the benefit of pak players. but then one can't expect rational behaviour from a board led by ijaz butt.
WI is harder to understand. perhaps they don't want to lose ? :D

good time to play pakistan. this is not a strong unit, and if we play as a unit at our best, we can win the series.

would be very tough to win an odi let alone a test...for some reason we do not do too well vs pak...but that 2003 tour was an exception

Very good news! Very excited about it.
Very much agree with my Night_wolf Adnaan bro, for some reason we don't do very well against Pakistan. I know Pakistan team is always a much stronger team than ours, no doubt about that, but I just want to see us fight and bite a bit.

PAK has so far been the only team/board to host us during a full tour. SLC has hosted us for 3 tests. we should look to return the favors with such boards. shame on another board which has yet to host us...

P shame on another board which has yet to host us...Neel ailo :-D. I think many people believe the point of a tour is just the money raised. Money is important but the aspect of respect and exposure is not paid sufficient attention. Someone commented that newspapers tend to write more articles on a foreign player when they visit that country. In that case how will Bangladeshi players get more exposure in crickets biggest market?

i suppose i should bait more subtly then...:-D
i agree...as posted in Neel's thread, its fine we'll accept the BCCI's "charity" if they wanna give hand outs. but i think they can sneak in a short tour every 5 years against us. i think thats more than fair especially given that we're voluntarily giving up some of that money and that thats what the FTP is - or at least was based on. i think respect and exposure matter more to us at this stage then a few dollars.

^^ Sounds like thats how it would happen.
But I think the two boards should focus a bit more on the T20 since we've got a world cup coming up next year.

Have to thank the PCB for the decision.
Hope for a full series. In their last series Tigers played real bad cricket. especially in tests. I hope this time tings would be totally different.

Very good news. If we could get a 3 tests, 5 ODIs, and 1 T20 series I would be delighted. It would be a great test for our boys. Definitely will be tough to win the ODIs.

or the BCB doesn't lose interest
or some govt. officials don't interfere citing security reasons
anything can happen

Series against the subcontinental team in subcontinental wicket is always a tough job for us as they can handle spin well.So it ll be a tough tour for us.

although id like more but think realistically its going to be 2 tests, 3 odis and 1 t20
personally id like to see a tri nations tournament instead of a boring odi series as we normally host one during that part of the season..why not get someone like ireland over as the third team?

If we don't win atleast one test against both West Indies and Pakistan this year, I think test status should be removed for a 2 year period.
