And BFF is going to remove the cricket pitch :((

I thing the BCB bosses wil be happy as there will be a chance to manage more money when it will be time for cricekt again and the wicket will be rebiuld :E

And there are talks for renovating BNS yet again. Alas, a huge money was spend for both the stadiums just few months ago prior to WC.

Everything should have a limit.

মেসিদের ঢাকা সফর সফল করতে বাফুফের ডাকে এগিয়ে এসেছে সরকার। বাফুফে ভবনে কাল জাতীয় ক্রীড়া পরিষদের (এনএসসি) চেয়ারম্যান ক্রীড়া প্রতিমন্ত্রী আহাদ আলী সরকার তাঁর পারিষদবর্গ নিয়ে সভায় বসেছিলেন। বাফুফের প্রায় সব ঊর্ধ্বতন কর্মকর্তাই ছিলেন। ঐতিহাসিক এই সফর উপলক্ষে গঠিত কমিটির পৃষ্ঠপোষক ক্রীড়া প্রতিমন্ত্রীর কাছে মাঠ এবং প্রয়োজনীয় অবকাঠামো সংস্কারের আবেদন জানিয়েছে বাফুফে। সহযোগিতা করার প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছেন মন্ত্রী।
বঙ্গবন্ধু স্টেডিয়ামে আর্জেন্টিনা-নাইজেরিয়া ম্যাচ ৬ সেপ্টেম্বর। দুই দলের অনুশীলন সেশন থাকবে দুটি করে। বঙ্গবন্ধু স্টেডিয়াম তো আছেই, মিরপুর ও ফতুল্লা স্টেডিয়াম এনএসসির কাছে চেয়েছিল বাফুফে। মিরপুর নয়, ফতুল্লা স্টেডিয়াম দিচ্ছে এনএসসি।
মন্ত্রীর সঙ্গে কাল সভা শেষে সেটিই জানালেন বাফুফের সহসভাপতি বাদল রায়, ‘ফতুল্লা স্টেডিয়াম দেওয়ার ব্যাপারে মন্ত্রী সম্মতি দিয়েছেন। ওই মাঠের পিচ এমনিতেই বিসিবির তুলে ফেলার কথা। কাজেই পিচটা উঠে যাবে। আমরা পরিপূর্ণ একটা মাঠই দেব অতিথি দলকে অনুশীলনের জন্য।’ এই সফর উপলক্ষে গঠিত কমিটির চেয়ারম্যান আনোয়ারুল হক হেলাল যোগ করলেন, ‘দুই দলের জন্য সকল সুযোগ-সুবিধাই চাই। কোথায় কী লাগবে, সেটা আমরা জানিয়েছি এনএসসিকে।’
বঙ্গবন্ধু স্টেডিয়ামে দুই দলের একটি করে অনুশীলন সেশন থাকছে। ফতুল্লায় সম্ভবত অনুশীলন করবে আর্জেন্টিনা, কমলাপুরে নাইজেরিয়া। তবে খেলা বঙ্গবন্ধু স্টেডিয়ামে হওয়ায় এখানকার মাঠ নিয়েই যত চিন্তা।
গত ১০ বছরে ১০০ কোটি টাকার ওপরে সংস্কারের কাজ হলেও বঙ্গবন্ধু স্টেডিয়ামে আজও পানিনিষ্কাশন পদ্ধতি বলতে কিছু নেই। একটু ভারী বৃষ্টি হলেই মাঠে পানি জমে। এ জন্য এনএসসি ছয় মাসের জন্য মাঠটা চেয়েছে। কিন্তু সেটা এই মুহূর্তে সম্ভব নয়। তা ছাড়া মাঠটা আন্তর্জাতিক মানে নেওয়া যাবে কি না, প্রশ্ন থেকেই যাচ্ছে।
ড্রেসিং রুম, প্রেসবক্স, ভিআইপি বক্স...ইত্যাদি সংস্কারও গুরুত্ব পাচ্ছে। বিশেষ করে বঙ্গবন্ধু স্টেডিয়ামের ড্রেসিং রুমের আধুনিকায়ন চেয়েছে বাফুফে। এমনকি আন্ডারগ্রাউন্ড ড্রেসিং রুমের দাবিও তোলা হয়েছে মন্ত্রীর কাছে। মন্ত্রী কোনো বিষয়েই ‘না’ করেননি।
‘বাফুফেকে আমরা সর্বাত্মক সহযোগিতা করব। বঙ্গবন্ধু, কমলাপুর এবং ফতুল্লা স্টেডিয়ামে আমরা প্রয়োজনীয় সংস্কার কাজ করে দেব’—বলেছেন ক্রীড়া প্রতিমন্ত্রী।

Fatualla currently has the best sporting pitch in the country. And why on earth they want to build a new one? And why BFF is always after cricket grounds?? They have kamalapur and BNS...use BKSP or army stadium if you want.

And they are talking about improving BNS VIP stand and the press box! ICC and BCB wasted 47 cr. to improve the facilities and I believe the facilities are World Class(BFF got all these for free). May be the dressing rooms need a bit improvement and nothing else.

I thought the Fatullah pitch was going get renovated anyway to build a good drainage system there. So BFF is taking this oppurtunity to use fatullah for football practice.

Why this desire to destroy a good cricket ground where Bangladesh actually historical good memory (against Australia?), already located close enough to the capital, This was our ideal 2nd ground of Dhaka, I always liked it being there and used as a rather cricket ground only! We do Not have enough cricket grounds around the nation and near the capital anyway!!

আর্জেন্টিনার তারকা ফুটবলার লিওনেল মেসিদের খেলা দেখার জন্য এখন থেকেই মুখিয়ে আছেন দর্শকরা। সেপ্টেম্বরে ঢাকায় আসছে নাইজেরিয়ার সাথে প্রীতি ম্যাচ খেলার জন্য। সেপ্টেম্বরে এলেও ম্যাচের আগে দুইদিন অনুশীলন করবে আর্জেন্টিনা। অনুশীলনের জন্য মাঠ চাই, এ কারণে বাংলাদেশ ফুটবল ফেডারেশন (বিএফএফ) বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ডের (বিসিবি) কাছে চিঠিও দিয়েছে। কিন্তু বিএফএফের সেই প্রস্তাবটি ফিরিয়ে দিয়েছে বিসিবি।
প্রায় দুই সপ্তাহ আগে আর্জেন্টিনার অনুশীলনের জন্য বিএফএফ বিসিবির কাছে মিরপুর শেরেবাংলা জাতীয় ক্রিকেট স্টেডিয়াম অথবা ফতুল্লার খান সাহেব ওসমান আলি স্টেডিয়াম চেয়ে একটি চিঠি দেয়। পরে বিসিবির সভায় সেটি নিয়ে আলোচনা হলেও বিষয়টি সিদ্ধান্ত হয়নি। বোর্ড সভাপতির সাথে আলোচনা করার পর বিএফএফের কাছে গতকাল চিঠি পাঠায় বিসিবি। এ প্রসংগে বোর্ডের প্রধান নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা মঞ্জুর আহমেদ জানান, ‘তারা অনুশীলনের জন্য মাঠ চেয়ে চিঠি দিয়েছে। সেপ্টেম্বর-অক্টোবরে ওয়েস্ট ইন্ডিজ দল ঢাকায় আসবে। সে সময় মিরপুর স্টেডিয়ামে ম্যাচ চলবে। তাছাড়া, তারা অনুশীলনের জন্য পুরো মাঠ চেয়েছে, পুরো মাঠ দিলে পিচের ক্ষতি হতে পারে। এ কারণে আমাদের পক্ষে তাদেরকে মাঠ দেয়া সম্ভব হচ্ছে না’।
বিসিবি বিএফএফের কাছে যে চিঠি পাঠিয়েছে বিসিবি, তাতে ওয়েস্ট ইন্ডিজের সিরিজের কথা উল্লেখের পাশাপাশি ঘরোয়া ক্রিকেটের প্রস্তুতি, একাডেমি দলের অনুশীলন, একাডেমির বিদেশি কোচের বিভিন্ন কোর্সের কথা উল্লেখ রয়েছে। এ প্রসংগে বিসিবির সিইও জানান, মূলত তারা পুরো মাঠে অনুশীলন করলে এরপর মাঠকে পুনরায় তৈরি করতে একটু সময় লাগবে’। দুই টেস্ট ও তিন ওয়ানডে ম্যাচের সিরিজ খেলতে ওয়েস্ট ইন্ডিজ ক্রিকেট দল ঢাকায় আসবে সেপ্টেম্বরে। এছাড়া ঘরোয়া ক্রিকেটও শুরু হবে অক্টোবরে। সেপ্টেম্বরে আর্জেন্টিনা অনুশীলন করলে মাঠের সমস্যা সৃষ্টি হতে পারে বিসিবি থেকে জানা যায়।
এদিকে পুরাতন মাটি তুলে মিরপুর মাঠে নতুন মাঠি লাগানোর কাজ চলছে। আগষ্টের মধ্যে সব কাজ শেষ হওয়ার পর যদি আর্জেন্টিনা অনুশীলন করে সেটি পুনঃসংস্কার করা কঠিন হবে বলেই বিসিবি বেঁকে বসেছে।
বিএফএফ অবশ্য ক্রীড়া মন্ত্রণালয় থেকে অনুরোধ করতেও পারে এমন ধারণাও পোষণ করছেন বোর্ডের কেউ কেউ। এমনটি ঘটলে বোর্ড সভাপতিই সিদ্ধান্ত দিবেন বলে সিইও জানিয়েছেন। তিনি বলেন, ‘এ ধরনের কিছু ঘটলে সভাপতি সিদ্ধান্ত দিবেন। তবে আমরা আশা করছি, এ ধরনের প্রস্তাব আমরা পাব না’।
বিসিবি পুরো মাঠে অনুশীলন করতে না দিলেও যদি বিএফএফ মাঠের কিছু অংশের জন্য অনুরোধ করে, সেক্ষেত্রে বোর্ড নতুন করে ভাবতে পারে বলে জানিয়েছেন সিইও। এ প্রসংগে তিনি বলেন, ‘তারা যে চিঠি দিয়েছে, তাতে অনুশীলন ম্যাচের কথা উল্লেখ রয়েছে। মাঠের কিছু অংশ তারা চায়নি। আবারো যদি প্রস্তাব দেয়, তবে আমরাও ভেবে দেখবো’।
মাঠকে পুনঃসংস্কার করতে ইতিমধ্যে বিসিবিও মাঠে নেমেছে। আগামী ছয় মাস বিসিবির ব্যস্ত সময় কাটবে। ঘরোয়া ক্রিকেটের পাশাপাশি বাংলাদেশে ওয়েস্ট ইন্ডিজ এবং পাকিস্তান সফর রয়েছে। বৃষ্টি হওয়াতে ফতুল্লার মাঠের যে অবস্থা তাতে ক্রিকেট কেন ফুটবলের অনুশীলন হওয়াও সম্ভব নয়। একটি সূত্র জানিয়েছে, বিএফএফ যদি বিসিবির কাছে পুনরায় মিরপুর কিংবা ফতুল্লার মাঠের কিছু অংশ অনুশীলনের জন্য অনুমতি চায়, তবে বিসিবি না করবে না। যদিও সিইও জানিয়েছেন, এটি আলোচনার পরেই সিদ্ধান্ত হবে।
