Handled the ball is a method of dismissal in the sport of cricket. Law (not Stuart Law) states that:
Law 33 of the Laws of cricket provides that: "Either batsman is out Handled the ball if he wilfully touches the ball while in play with a hand or hands not holding the bat unless he does so with the consent of the opposing side."
A batsman is not out 'handled the ball' if: (i) He handles the ball in order to avoid injury; OR (ii) He uses his hand or hands to return the ball to any member of the fielding side with the consent of that side.
Though a batsman is out handled the ball if he uses his hand or hands to return the ball to any member of the fielding side without the consent of that side when the ball is still in play.
There have been 56 instances in first-class cricket. The most recent are:
Player
GA Gooch England v Australia Manchester 1993
AC Waller Mashonaland CD v Mashonaland Under-24 Harare 1994-95
KM Krikken Derbyshire v Indians Derby 1996

'Elementary Watson!'
Triviazoid: Which Bangladeshi player scored +1 run than Shane Watson's 185?
Yup, before getting lbw to Sowah Gazi accumulated a patient 186 from 376 balls with 18 fours and 1 six.

Player of the week: Elias Sunny (http://www.espncricinfo.com/bangladesh/content/player/55883.html)
Living up to the standards set by Rafique is an unenviable task, especially if you are a left-arm spinner. In Bangladesh it is easy to get lost in the slow-lefties crowd with so many involved in domestic cricket. If Rafique and Musharraf were still available Sunny might never have got a chance to play for Dhaka but when the opportunity presented itself he was there to grab it with both hands. Bowling in the classical mould he mixed his deliveries, generally at a slow speed. Importantly he gave the ball flight and extracted spin. The relentless guile was too much for the Sylhet batsmen and Sunny returned 13 wickets in the match, which included only the second hat-trick in National Cricket League's history.
