dayyum Chelsea got sooo lucky today, a win for West Brom would have been awesome :D There were some iffy decision from Lee Mason but in the end luck favoured Chelsea. The Anelka goal was a pure mess but it changed the game completely. Unlucky for West Brom, they should have scored the second in the first half [The misplaced cross from Long]. In the end, 2-1 for Chelsky ;)

Damnn lol Chelsea paid more for Mata than City paid for Nasri. Ahhh, Chelsky will never learn.

Juan Manuel Mata: Valencia to Chelsea for 23.5 M pounds.
Samir Nasri: Arsenal to Manchester City for 23 M pounds.

I really honestly wanted Nasri :( Ohh well maybe we can get Sneijder.

i think man city actually paid more given nasri was in the last year of his contract whereas mata just signed a new deal with them before joining chelsea..and nasri's wage probably something like this £18000.. Im sure mata wont get anything like this..

Lets see how that turns out. On the other game, Liverpool are up 3-0 (Henderson, Skartel, Adam). Bad defensive performance from Bolton.

The highlights definately have to be here, I will have the honour of posting them. Literally played with Arsenal. It was as if United were playing against their reserves and Fergie just told them to go and score as many as they can, just wow. But there were some amazing goals and finishes today, brilliant goals to watch :)

Liverpool's transactions towards the end of the window were disappointing. They sold Mereiles who has been of their best players in recent times to Chelsea for only £12 million and signed the aging Craig Bellamy again. They should have kept hold of Mereiles and signed a young striker who compliments Suarez, instead of Bellamy. Or get one of the Man City stikers (Tevez, Balotelli, Adebayor, Santa Cruz) on loan. They also should have strengthened their defence with someone like Gary Cahill.

Arsenal lose 4 - 3 at Blackburn. They are now four points behind the Top 4 having played a game more. Another shocking defensive performance from Arsenal. They need Vermaelen back asap, Koscielny is just terrible. Offensively they are doing fine but the return of Wilshere and Ramsey should help. They can't afford to drop points against weaker opposition like this if they are to challenge for the Top 4.

Two cracking games tommorow:
Man U v Chelsea
Tottenham v Liverpool

Not very confident about the Chelsea game. As Fergie said, they have been lurking quietly this season, overshadowed by Man City, so won't be shocked if they manage to cause an upset. Man City could go top of the table tomorrow.

Liverscum vs United

Liverpool will at best come 4th this season, but that doesn't mean they won't be up for their biggest match of the season. Little teams always get hyped up when they play United, and Liverpool are no exception.

I except them to continue their giant killing ways, and beat United this weekend, and get the 3 points.

Spurs have the best midfield in the league along with City. Bale, Van der Vaart, Modric and Parker. That's three world class players and another very good midfielder. They have secured Adebayor for the season and Defoe is in good form. Their defence is a bit shaky but otherwise I think they have a good team overall. But you never know. It was more of a guess than a well thought-out prediction.

The constant over-rating of the Spurs midfield is astonishing to me. Gareth Bale is THE most over-rated player in the PL. He didn't deserve the award he received last season, and his stats prove that.

Van der Vaart is a very good player, but one who is lazy and ill disciplined, and has poor fitness - see how he's been subbed with around 20 minutes left the last few matches? And it happened quite a lot last season too....You can't be one of the best players, if your own manager thinks you are a liability and has to sub you out for tactical reasons every other match.

Modric - I'll give you, class player, which is why Chelsea tried repeatedly to sign him

Parker - Again, didn't deserve the award he received last season, his freaking team got relegated ffs...why do you think he's spent most of his career at small clubs? Had one stint at Chelsea, but didn't possess the requisite class, and was left on the bench, before leaving.

In short no.

As for who has the best midfield in the PL - I hate Man City, and hope they go back to being the nothing club that they are...but

Clearly a midfield of

Nasri ---- Silva -----De Jong/YaYa Toure------ Adam Johnson

is better than anything Spurs have on offer.

Disappointing draw with newcastle(completely clobbered them in the last 20 minutes) they had 4 wonder saves from their keeper and two goal line clearances. Not to mention their equalizer was a mistake by the assistant ref, who will now be demoted down a league for his mistake.

But City drawing with livershit means, the damage wasn't too bad.

Disastrous loss at home to Blackburn(erstwhile bottom club in the league), but City then returned the favor, with an almost equally shocking loss at Sunderland.

So both Manchester clubs still tied on points with exactly half the season gone. Tottenham still pushing, Arsenal hanging on, and Chelsea...well

Midtable clubs, Liverpool head that group - they might get lucky and sneak into europe - big accomplishment for them

So Chelsea sneak a win, but Arsenal choke.

This Christmas period has been good for Liverpool - they picked up a win and some draws, aside from their lying scumbag of a manager and racist Suarez of course.

The league is between United and City - it was always going to be that way, right from the start of the season. Both teams have one problem - United, our injuries(ugly...) and for City(the inexperience of a title challenge), which will prove to be more telling?

United momentarily top of the league. Rooney with the goals for United, racist scum scored a late tap in consolation for his racist club. United dominated, and won both on and off the pitch.

Chelsea lost AGAIN  Arsenal got a late winner from Henry on his final match to go into 4th place. Tottenham physically abused Newcastle, and stayed in 3rd place with a 5-0 win.

Shame, considering the owners are American.

That's what I meant - it's the same group(FSG) that owns the Red Sox, and John Henry along with hot wife do a ton of work for inner city kids in the area. But here he is, completely ignoring not only the initial behavior of a disgusting player, but then the attack on the victim by the entire club.

Oh well...not my problem.

Liverpool FC defend racists.

BBC Sport understands the apologies "contained the input" of the club's American owners, Fenway Sports Group.

Here's a good one from the Independent. Two paragraphs quoted.

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/suarez-and-liverpool-say-sorry-for-evra-snub-6804726.html

iverpool's more enduring problem is how to salvage the Merseyside career of a player whose latest apology, just like the one he issued on 4 January, offered no apology or regret to Evra. The extraordinary statement issued by Dalglish was the one which displayed most contrition and was so uncharacteristic that it left the distinct impression that Fenway Sports Group – the club's American owners – had ordered it. "All of us have a responsibility to represent this club in a fit and proper manner and that applies equally to me as Liverpool manager," Dalglish said. "When I went on TV after yesterday's game I hadn't seen what had happened, but I did not conduct myself in a way befitting of a Liverpool manager during that interview and I'd like to apologise for that."

In the the 13 months since Dalglish returned to Liverpool's helm, he has been allowed virtually free rein but this was a significant moment in his relationship with Fenway Sports Group and the club's principal owner, John W Henry. The FSG website report of Liverpool's 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford was headlined: "Luis Suarez shows strength of character, scores in the face of adversity" and bore no reference to the hand-shake. But yesterday's New York Times was excoriating. Its report, headlined: "Another ugly incident mars Liverpool's good name," opened with this paragraph: "If the Fenway Sports Group is to be the responsible team owner in soccer that it has proved to be in baseball, it needs to get hold of Liverpool, its club in England's Premier League, and repair its global image."

F6_Turbo

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17004667

Yup. I think the NYT actually has business arrangements with FSG - so they were afraid of their global brand being tarnished.

What Liverpool did last night, was something they should have done months ago, and this whole saga would have been forgotten. Instead they decided(wrongly) to look at the issue through the eyes of a rivalry, and not what it was...something bigger than a mere football match.

This was about racism, and rising above our differences to speak out against it, instead they started a smear campaign to slander the victim. Repeatedly lying and saying that Evra has a history of playing the race card(he has NEVER done this in the past) and that he was unreliable as a witness. :(

Oh well, while they haven't offered Evra a direct apology, they apologized to United, and United accepted it. Hopefully everyone has learned a few lessons, and we can all move on.

They were right to let him go...Redknapp is a media wh0re. He openly flirted with England(which is his right), but refused to resign the Tottenham post because it would mean he wouldn't get a payout from Tottenham.

Look at every other club he has been at...and he left them in a shambles, Tottenham need a long term plan, someone who will work out a philosophy and give them a sense of stability. Redknapp is all about buying the most expensive players the club can afford...getting decent results, but then leaving behind no positive legacy.

Tottenham won't be able to compete with

City
United
Arsenal
Chelsea
Liverpool(huge cash injection)

so they are a Europa Cup team in the short team(they need a stadium to up revenues), and understanding that, they have to change tack...Redknapp is not the man for that job.
