 ডেফিনেটলি ফরসা হতেই হবে। সবচেয়ে বড় কথা, চামড়া ফরসা থাকলেই হয় না। দেখতে সুন্দর লাগতে হবে। লম্বা লাগবে, আর কিউট লাগবে অনেক।
 হ্যাঁ, লম্বা হওয়াটা খুবই জরুরি। আপনিও তো অনেক লম্বা...
 আমি ৬ ফুট ৩ ইঞ্চি। এখন মনে হয় আরও বেড়েছি।
 ৬ ফুট ৩ ইঞ্চি ছেলের জন্য মেয়ে পাওয়া তো কঠিন। মানে কাছাকাছি উচ্চতার কাউকে তো লাগবে...

 এখন কী অবস্থা জানি না। লেটেস্ট খোঁজ নিইনি। আগে ছিল অনেক। যখন দলে ছিলাম, ফ্যানের অভাব ছিল না। অবশ্য আল্লাহর রহমতে এখনো খারাপ না, ভালো। অনেকে ফোন-টোন করে।
 শুধু ফোন করে, নাকি দেখা-সাক্ষাৎও হয়?
 না না, ফোনই করে...হা হা হা। ওটা বলা যাবে না।
 মোট কয়টা প্রেম করেছেন?
 প্রেম করছি...উমম...করেছি ভাই (হাসি)। প্রেম করছি কয়টা...উমম...দুইটা দুইটা, হ্যাঁ দুইটা।
 তারা এখন যোগাযোগ করে না?
 যোগাযোগ করে না। ব্যস্ত তো। আমরা সবাই ব্যস্ত।
 মেয়েরা আপনাকে এত পছন্দ করে কেন?
 এটা আমি তো জানি না...হা হা হা। সবচেয়ে বড় কথা স্মার্টনেস। এটা অনেকের মধ্যেই নেই, আমার আছে। স্মার্টনেস জানেন তো? মানে পোশাক-আশাক, চালচলন। হাইটটা অনেক ইম্পর্টেন্ট। সবার স্মার্টনেস হাইটের জন্যই হয়। আমার মতো যাঁরা লম্বা, তাঁরা দেখবেন অনেক সময় গুজা (কুঁজো) হয়ে হাঁটে। এ রকম আমার মধ্যে নেই। স্মার্ট হওয়ার জন্য যা দরকার ওটা আমার মধ্যে আছে।
 স্মার্ট থাকার জন্য নিজে কোনো চেষ্টা করেন নাকি প্রকৃতি প্রদত্ত?
 সে রকম চেষ্টা কোনো কিছু নেই। ভালো ড্রেস পরা, ভালোভাবে হাঁটা, মানুষের সঙ্গে ভালোভাবে কথা বলা—এসবই। যেমন ধরেন, ব্রেট লি কেমন? ব্রেট লি খুব মিশুক, স্মার্ট না? আমি সব সময় ব্রেট লি, শোয়েব ওদের ফলো করি। ওরা কীভাবে হাঁটে, কথা বলে। এ ছাড়া আর কোনো কিছু নেই। আমার নজর সব সময় ওপরের দিকে ছিল। এখনো তাই আছে।
 এমনিতেও তো আপনি খুব ফ্যাশনেবল। পোশাকে, জুতা-স্যান্ডেলে...
 হ্যাঁ, এগুলোর দিকে আমার খেয়াল আছে। গাড়ির দিকেও...।
 এ পর্যন্ত কয়টা গাড়ি বদলেছেন?
 চারটা। এখন আছে ল্যাক্সাস। প্রথম ছিল হানড্রেড ফাইভ, টয়োটা।
 গার্লফ্রেন্ডদের খুব গাড়িতে ঘোরান নিশ্চয়ই...
 ঘুরাব না কেন! তা তো ঘুরাই-ই। তবে এখন আর ঘুরাই না। আগে ঘুরাতাম। এখন তো আমি একা। নিজে নিজেই ঘুরি।
 আপনি এত স্মার্ট। কখনো মনে হয় না ক্রিকেট না খেলে সিনেমার নায়ক হলে ভালো করতেন?
 হা হা হা। এতক্ষণে সত্যি কথা বলছেন। ঠিক আজকেই আমি এটা চিন্তা করছিলাম। বাসায় থেকে থেকে একটু ফরসা হয়ে গেছি। সে দিন কলাবাগান ক্লাবে চুক্তি করতে গেছি। এক বড়ভাই বলছিলেন, কী খবর? তোকে তো আজ খুব সুন্দর লাগছে। সিনেমা-টিনেমা কর বেটা। তুই গেলে তো সাকিব খানও পারবে না তোর সঙ্গে। আরেকজন বলল, উনি তো কথাটা খারাপ বলেনি। নায়ক সাকিব খান কিন্তু ইচ্ছা করলেই ক্রিকেট খেলতে পারবে না। কিন্তু তুমি খেলোয়াড় হলেও সিনেমা করতে পারবে। তুমি সিনেমা করলে সবাই একবার না একবার সিনেমা দেখতে যাবেই। আমিও ভেবে দেখলাম, এতে তো সিনেমার পরিচালকেরও অনেক লাভ। তখন বললাম ঠিক আছে।
 আপনার তাহলে নায়ক হওয়ার ইচ্ছা আছে...
 হ্যাঁ, ইচ্ছা আছে নায়ক হওয়ার। সত্যি কথা। নাটক-ফাটক-মডেলিং করে লাভ নেই। একটা সিনেমা করলে পরিচালকও ভালো টাকা কামাতে পারবে, আমারও পরিচিতি বাড়বে। সবাই বলবে শাহাদাত কি মুভি করছে, দেখে আসি।
 অ্যাকশন নায়ক হতে চান না রোমান্টিক নায়ক?
 অ্যাকশন না, রোমান্টিক। আমি সব সময় শাহরুখ খানকে পছন্দ করি। আমার ফেবারিট নায়ক। আমি শাহরুখের মতো হতে চাই। অ্যাকশন তো থাকবেই, তবে রোমান্টিকটা বেশি থাকবে।
 নায়িকা হিসেবে কাকে পছন্দ?
 বাইরের ধরলে প্রীতি...প্রীতি, প্রীতি জিনতাকে আমার খুব পছন্দ। তবে বাংলাদেশে আমার কোনো পছন্দের নায়িকা নেই। বিন্দুকে ভালো লাগে। কিন্তু ও তো নায়িকা না, মডেল।
 কোনো পরিচালকের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ হয়েছে?
 দু-একজনকে চিনি। টুকটাক এফডিসিতে যাই। অনেকে বলেছেন, সিনেমা করলে যোগাযোগ করতে।
 সিনেমা হিট হলে খেলা কি ছেড়ে দেবেন?
 না না না। এটা ভুল কথা। তিন-চার মাস যখন ফ্রি থাকব তখন একটা মুভি করব। তবে ক্রিকেট ছাড়ব না।
 প্রথম সিনেমায় নায়িকা হিসেবে কাকে চাইবেন?
 হা হা হা। বাংলাদেশি নায়িকাদের আমার পছন্দ না। সিরিয়াসলি। যেগুলো আছে সব মোটা মোটা। এগুলার একটাকেও আমার ভালো লাগে না। আমি মডেলদের মধ্যে থেকে নায়িকা বেছে নেব। মডেলদের মধ্যে সুন্দর সুন্দর লম্বা মেয়ে আছে।
 সিনেমার লাইনে তো অনেক সময় স্ক্যান্ডাল ছড়ায়...
 না, ওগুলো হবে না। সিনেমা তো আমার পেশা না। হয়তো বা শখে দু-একটা করলাম। মুভি করলেও আমি রেগুলার করব না। হঠাৎ হঠাৎ করব। ওটাই ভালো।
 ক্রিকেটার হয়ে যেটুকু সফল, নায়ক হলে কি আরও বেশি সম্ভাবনা ছিল?
 এটা আমি জানি না। ক্রিকেটার হয়েছি বলেই এ কথাগুলো বলতে পারছি। ক্রিকেটার না হলে মানুষ আমাকে চিনতেই পারত না। আমার লুক এ রকম থাকত না।
 সিনেমার নায়ক আর ক্রিকেটারের মধ্যে পার্থক্য কী?
 ফিল্ম জগৎ তো ফিল্ম জগৎ, আর আমরা ক্রিকেটারেরা ক্রিকেটার। ওরা ব্যস্ত থাকে শুটিং নিয়ে। আমরা ব্যস্ত থাকি খেলা নিয়ে। পার্থক্য তো অবশ্যই আছে। আমি মনে করি, একজন ক্রিকেটারের যে জীবন, ফিল্ম জগতে এ রকম মজার জীবন নেই। আমরা খেলতে গেলেও ঘুরি, মজা করি। ওরা একটা জায়গায় বন্দী থাকে। আমি মনে করি, ফিল্মের নায়কের চেয়ে এটার মূল্য অনেক বেশি।
 মৌলিক একটা পার্থক্য তো আমরাও দেখি, তারা মেকআপ নিয়ে তারকা। আপনারা মেকআপ ছাড়া তারকা...
 এটাই হলো কথা। এটাই মানুষ দেখতে চায় বেশি করে। আফ্রিদিকে সবাই পছন্দ করে কেন? কারণ ও মেকআপ করে না। যেটা তার ভালো লাগে ওটাই। ফিল্মে অনেক সময় পাউডার-পুওডার দিয়ে কালো লোককে ফরসা করে ফেলে। আমাদের মধ্যে ওসব কিছু নেই। মাশরাফি ভাই, আমি—আমাদের আল্লাহর রহমতে ওরকম কিছু লাগাতে হয় না। আল্লাহ যা দিয়েছেন, লাখ লাখ শুকরিয়া। বাংলাদেশে অনেক ফিল্ম স্টারের এ রকম নেই, সত্যি কথা। চামড়া সাদা হলে তো আর সব হয় না।
 নায়ক হওয়ার জন্য আপনার সবচেয়ে বড় প্লাস পয়েন্ট কোনটা?
 আমার হাইটটা অনেক ইম্পরটেন্ট। চেহারাও আল্লাহর রহমতে ভালো।
 প্রায়ই দেখি শেভ না করে অনেক দিন থাকেন। মুখে খোঁচা খোঁচা দাড়ি নিয়ে ঘোরেন। রহস্য কী?
 রহস্য কিছুই না। দাড়ির ব্যাপারে আসলে আমার শহীদ আফ্রিদিকে বেশি ভালো লাগে। আমার দাড়িও ওরকমই। প্লেয়াররা সবাই বলে দাড়ি থাকলে আমাকে আফ্রিদি আফ্রিদি লাগে। বিদেশে গেলেও দাড়ি থাকলে কেউ বলে না যে আমি বাংলাদেশি। বলে পাকিস্তানি। তো আমার দাড়ি সুন্দর দেখে আমি দাড়িটা রাখি। এ ছাড়া আর কোনো ইয়ে নেই।
 কোনো মেয়ে কি কখনো বলেছে আপনাকে দাড়ি রাখলে সুন্দর লাগে?
 অনেকে অনেক কিছু বলেছে। দাড়িতে অনেক ভালো লাগে। ওরা বলে, তুমি যা করো সেটাই ভালো লাগে। শেভ করলে ভালো লাগে, দাড়ি রাখলেও ভালো লাগে। তবে সমস্যা হলো যেদিন শেভ করি, সে দিন আমাকে মুরগি মুরগি লাগে। এ জন্য দাড়িই ভালো।
 তো এখন যে বান্ধবীবিহীন অবস্থায় আছেন। এভাবে কয় দিন?
 দেখি, আল্লাহর রহমতে কয় দিন থাকি। আপনি যখন ইন্টারভিউটা ছাপবেন সবাই আসবে, সমস্যা নেই। হা হা হা। সবাই জানবে রাজীব খালি আছে।

"আজ ৪-৯-২০১১ তারিখে প্রথম আলোতে "স্টেডিয়াম" নামক ফিচারে তরুণ ক্রিকেটার শাহাদাত হোসেনের একটা সাক্ষাৎকার ছাপানো হয়েছে। আমি জানি না, তার বক্তব্য তারা কতটুকু সত্য ছেপেছে!! তবে যদি তা সত্যি হয়, তবে এই দেশের একজন নিরীহ নাগরিক হিসেবে আমার তাকে কিছু অনুরোধ করার আছে! এটা একান্তই আমার ব্যক্তিগত অনুরোধ। আমি একটু বেশী বেশী ইমোশনাল দেশের প্রতি!
যাই হোক, সাংবাদিক প্রথমেই তার বর্ণনা দিয়েছেন এভাবে--


ক্রিকেটারই তাঁর আসল পরিচয়। কিন্তু ঝোঁক নেই কোন দিকে! ফ্যাশন, হেয়ারকাট থেকে শুরু করে হুটহাট গাড়ির মডেল বদলানো—অন্য ক্রিকেটারদের থেকে সবকিছুতেই আলাদা শাহাদাত হোসেন। ইদানীং আগ্রহী হয়ে উঠেছেন রুপালি জগৎ নিয়েও।

আসুন কিছু অংশ দেখি এই সাক্ষাতকারের এবং সেই সাথে আমার অনুরোধ গুলোও থাকছে।

কি ধরনের মেয়ে পছন্দ? ** ডেফিনেটলি ফর্সা হতে হবেই হবে। সবচেয়ে বড় কথা চামড়া ফর্সা থাকলেই হয় না। দেখতে সুন্দর লাগতে হবে। লম্বা লাগবে, আর কিউট লাগবে অনেক।

ও হে বাছা!! এই গরীব দেশের কালো মেয়েরা এমনিতেই থাকে নানান মানসিক কষ্টে। কেও টা দেখায়, কেও নীরবে নিভৃতে কাঁদে। তার উপর আপনার মতো এরকম মহান পুরুষ, অনেক তরুণ হয়তো আপনাকে দেখে আরও উৎসাহ পাবে পাত্রী হিসেবে তারাও ফরশা মেয়েরই খোঁজ করবে! শুধু ফর্সা তেই শেষ নয়। লম্বা চুল থাকতে হবে, তাকে লম্বা, এবং কিউট হতে হবে। শিক্ষিত, সুন্দর মনের অধিকারী না হলেও চলবে! আপনি মেয়ে জাতিকে বড় উন্নত জায়গায় নিয়ে গেছেন!

মোট কয়টা প্রেম করেছেন? ** প্রেম করছি...উমম...করেছি ভাই । প্রেম করছি কয়টা...উমম...দুইটা দুইটা, হ্যাঁ দুইটা। আপনি তো প্লে বয়...... ** করি না আর কি...। যারা ছিল, তারা এখন আর কেও নেই। আপনার মেয়ে ভক্ত তো প্রচুর... এখন কি অবস্থা জানিনা। লেটেস্ত খোঁজ নিইনি। আগে ছিল অনেক। যখন দলে ছিলাম, ফ্যানের অভাব ছিলনা। অবশ্য আল্লাহ্‌র রহমতে এখনো খারাপ না, ভালো। অনেকে ফোন- টন করে।

ও হে বাছা! আপনি আপনার ভক্তকুল কে এই মহান বাণী দিয়ে শিখিয়ে দিলেন, কিভাবে আধুনিক হতে হবে। যে ব্যাপারটা নিয়ে ইতিমধ্যে আমাদের পারিবারিক, ধর্মীয় মূল্যবোধ হুমকির মুখে! সব চেলিব্রেটির অনেক অনেক ভক্ত থাকে, কিংবা একাধিক প্রেম, সম্পর্ক থাকতে পারে, কিন্তু এরকম নির্লজ্জের মতো পাবলিকলি কেওই টা প্রকাশ করে না। কারণ তার বেহামিপনার আছর কোমলমোতি ভক্ত কুলের মাঝে ছড়িয়ে যেতে পারে। এসব গোপনীয় থাকতে হয়।

অ্যাকশন নায়ক হতে চান, না রোমান্টিক নায়ক? ** অ্যাকশন না, রোমান্টিক। আমি সব সময় শাহরুখ খানকে পছন্দ করি। আমি শাহরুখের মতো হতে চাই। আপনার তাহলে নায়ক হওয়ার ইচ্ছা আছে... ** হ্যাঁ, ইচ্ছা আছে নায়ক হওয়ার। সত্যি কথা। নাটক- ফাটক, মডেলিং করে লাভ নাই। একটা সিনেমা করলে পরিচালকও ভালো টাকা কামাতে পারবে, আমারও পরিচিতি বাড়বে। প্রথম সিনেমায় নায়িকা হিসেবে কাকে চাইবেন? ** হা হা হা। বাংলাদেশী নায়িকাদের আমার পছন্দ না। সিরিয়াসলি। যেগুলো আছে, সব মোটা মোটা। এগুলার একটাকেও আমার ভালো লাগে না। আমি মডেলদের মধ্যে থেকে নায়িকা বেছে নেব। মডেলদের মধ্যে থেকে লম্বা লম্বা মেয়ে বেছে নেব।

ও হে বাছা, এক প্রকার বাকরুদ্ধ, চোখে পুরা তারা দেখলাম এসব শুনে!! তিনি নায়ক হতে চান। সব জায়গায় দেখেছি, সবাই তাদের খেলোয়াড়ি জীবনের এক্কেবারে শেষ প্রান্তে এসে, নায়ক, গায়ক, মডেলিং এ আসেন। অনেক টা পেট চালাতে। কিংবা আধুনিক ক্রিকেটে, ক্রিকেট ধারাভাষ্য একটি খুব সুন্দর এবং মার্জিত পেশা। অনেক সফল ক্রিকেটারই এ পেশায় আজ যুক্ত। কিংবা কোচ ও হওয়া যায়। অবশ্য এগুলোর জন্য পড়ালেখা, মগজের গিলু লাগে!!

স্মার্ট থাকার জন্য নিজে কোনো চেষ্টা করেন নাকি প্রকৃতি প্রদত্ত? ** সে রকম চেষ্টা কোনো কিছু নেই। ভালো ড্রেস পরা, ভালোভাবে হাঁটা, মানুষের সঙ্গে ভালোভাবে কথা বলা—এসবই। যেমন ধরেন, ব্রেট লি কেমন? ব্রেট লি খুব মিশুক, স্মার্ট না? আমি সব সময় ব্রেট লি, শোয়েব ওদের ফলো করি। ওরা কীভাবে হাঁটে, কথা বলে। এ ছাড়া আর কোনো কিছু নেই। আমার নজর সব সময় ওপরের দিকে ছিল। এখনো তাই আছে।

আমাদের বাছা সিনেমার নায়ক হতে চান!! তার আর খেলা চালিয়ে যাবার মতো কোন ইচ্ছা শক্তি আছে কিনা আমার জানা নেই। তার টার্গেট ছিল, শাহরুখের মতো হবে! পাব্লিসিটির জন্য যা লাগার, তা ইতিমধ্যে তিনি অর্জন করেছেন। এদেশের একজন ক্রিকেটার হিসেবে জাতি তাকে চিনে। তিনি যখন বলিং করেন, পুরো জাতি তার জন্য প্রার্থনা করেন!! আর তিনি নায়ক হবার চিন্তায় বিভোর!

তার কাছে টিভি শিল্প খুব ফালতু লাগে, যাচ্চেতাই! ওসবে তার পোষাবে না! তার ন্যূনতম ধারণা নাই যে, আমাদের সিনেমা শিল্প থেকে টিভি শিল্প অনেক বেশী সফল! সিনেমার নায়ক, নায়িকারা সব হুমড়ি খেয়ে আসছে নাটকে, মডেলিং এ, তাদের বাঁচানোর জন্য!! টিভির পরিচালক রাই এখন সিনেমায় এসে এই শিল্পটাকে বাঁচিয়ে রাখছে! আর তার সেই টিভি, মডেলিং কেই তার ফ্লপ মনে হয়।
অবশ্য তিনি সেয়ানা পাগল। এফডিসি-তে গিয়ে সিনেমায় তার সমস্যা নাই, কিন্তু নায়িকা হিসেবে এফডিসির মোটা নায়িকা দের তার পছন্দ নয়। ওখানে তার টিভি, মডেলিং এর লম্বা চিকন চাকন মেয়ে লাগবে!! পুরা পাঙ্খা!!

মৌলিক একটা পার্থক্য তো আমরাও দেখি, তারা মেকআপ নিয়ে তারকা, আপনারা মেকআপ ছাড়া তারকা... ** এটাই হল কথা। এটাই মানুষ দেখতে চায় বেশী করে। আফ্রিদিকে সবাই পছন্দ করে কেন? কারণ ও মেকআপ করে না। যেটা তার ভালো লাগে ওটাই। ফিল্মে অনেক সময় পাউডার পুওডার দিয়ে কালো লোককে ফর্সা করে ফেলে। আমাদের মধ্যে ওসব কিছু নেই।

ও হে বাছা, তোমাকে গায়ে গতরে আল্লাহ্‌পাক এক্কেবারে কলসি ভরে দিয়েছেন। তুমি তার পুরা ফায়দা তুলছ, মাশাল্লাহ! তোমার কোন মেকআপ লাগে না! ঠিক তোমার গুরু আফ্রিদির মতো!! ও হে আহাম্মক! নাটক, সিনেমায় মেকআপ টাও একটা অংশ। চরিত্রের প্রয়োজনে কালো কে যেমন ফর্সা করে, তেমনি ফর্সাকেও কালো হতে হয়। ভালো কে পাগল, পাগল কে বুদ্ধিজীবী হতেও হয়!! এসব লাগে ঐ শিল্পের, চরিত্রের জন্যই!! আর তাছাড়া সূর্যরশ্মি থেকে আরাম পাবার জন্য ক্রিকেটাররাও বিভিন্ন সানব্লক করে থাকেন! এতে অন্যায়ের কিছু নাই!
প্রায়ই দেখি শেভ না করে অনেক দিন থাকেন। মুখে খোঁচা খোঁচা দাড়ি নিয়ে ঘোরেন। রহস্য কী? ** রহস্য কিছুই না। দাড়ির ব্যাপারে আসলে আমার শহীদ আফ্রিদিকে বেশি ভালো লাগে। আমার দাড়িও ওরকমই। প্লেয়াররা সবাই বলে দাড়ি থাকলে আমাকে আফ্রিদি আফ্রিদি লাগে। বিদেশে গেলেও দাড়ি থাকলে কেউ বলে না যে আমি বাংলাদেশি। বলে পাকিস্তানি।

ও হে বাছা! আপনাকে তো দেখতেই নাকি বাংলাদেশী লাগে না! পাকিস্থানি লাগে! শুকরান!! যান, ভাষাটাও আয়ত্তে লিয়ে আসেন! ওইখানে বসতি গড়েন। আমাদের বাছার শাহরুখ প্রীতি, আফ্রিদি প্রীতি, সর্বোপরি, তিনি যেভাবে তাদের ফ্যাশন, মেকআপ, গেটআপ, পোশাক আশাক, কোন স্টাইলে তারা দাঁড়ি রাখে, এমনকি তাদের হাঁটাচলা ফলো করেন, তার এক ভাগ মনোযোগও যদি তিনি তার খেলায় দিতেন, তবে তিনি কয়েক বার করে দশ উইকেট পেতেন!! সেলিব্রেটিদের সাক্ষাতাকার গুলাও ফলো করেন বাছা! এরম উদাসীন, বেহিসেবি, লাগামহীন কথাবার্তা তাদের বলতে হয়না বাছা!!

If the report is true then I have a little and very simple advice for Shahdat:
first of all Shahdat is not as good looking as he thinks of himself, have seen many good looking guys he is nowhere near those good looking. He is a star as for his cricketing fame, which is very normal he got the privilege of getting attention from everywhere but that doesn't make him the super good looking. If he was not a cricketer no one would even look at him.

So, mr. Shahdat come down to earth and keep your feet on the the earth !! Try to grow up some common sense before you open your mouth. Most of the time all the celebrates look handsome and beautiful because you start to get used to them after seeing them again and again, that is very normal !!

Having come to the Bangladeshi team at an age less than 17/18, most of these players (Shahadat, Ashraful, Sakib) never got the chance to develop mentally through natural progression. It is quite hard when you are constantly having to deal with a barrage of adulation and criticism. You get stuck in a time warp. So Ash is mentally 15, Shahadat is 17, Shakib is 18, and Tamim is 21. Tamim got to grow as he was used to seeing someone else grow amongst fame and adulation..undoubtedly, his uncle Akram Khan.Having come from a well off an cluey family, he knows how to talk, and how to handle women. Hehas had the same girlfriend reportedly from about 16. That is mighty impressive, considering how many girls would have dropped their anchol for him. In that regard, I admire him.

Shakib used to talk about the abundance of girls around him. Though he kept the interviews tasteful and relevant, I still read between the lines that it is an overwhelming experience that takes a significant part of his thought process. He still needs to learn how to deal with fame and girls. He is getting there. ( Where he lack is in handling the media and what he says about his co-workers/bosses).

Shahadat's interview..well, well, well... Anyone who calls himself a playboy is definitely only a fool. Some girls with low self-esteem may date these sort of guys, but anyone worth keeping shall not look twice at 99.999% of these guys. ( If you have thought of an exception, that girl has low self-esteem). Rajib indeed should learn to respect women. Just because a girl may have given herself over to him one or two times does not mean he owns her. If he thinks its because of his looks and fame, then I have news for him. Many of my friends are doing better than him, or Shakib, and it is not to do with money. Its because they understand girls and treat them well. ( That, or the girl has issues..) Shahadat is thinking simple in terms of evolutionary theory (tall, skinny, fair-skinned) but nowadays everyone is more sophisticated. Who the heck would dare date him after such an interview?

Although I have met a number of guys and girls from the subcontinent who look for taller, fairer, rich, foreign (girls) ...or younger, poorer than them, fair/blonde (guys). It is more in line with how Shahadat thinks, and how a lot of Bangladeshi mums think as well.

This interview of Shahadat reflects badly on Bangladesh rather than him or cricketers. He should really forget the hero stuff and concentrate on what he is good at: cricket. It is clear he would not be a commentator, ever. Or a captain. Or Shakib.

Nice post nahaz. Though, I think (lack of) education and grooming goes hand in hand with this issue of being emotionally/psychologically stunted. Just recall G. Smith being captain of South Africa at the age of 22 and compare that to Shak.

Also, given the fact that most of our current cricketers have gone through the age-level, Academy and A-Teams, you would think that they would be more prepared by the time they arrive on the international stage (even if they go through the ranks much quicker than other teams!)

এসকোবার: অবশ্যই ভালো করতে চাই। কিন্তু খুব কঠিন র‌্যাঙ্কিংয়ে আরও ভালো করা। তবে আমি চেষ্টা করছি। বার্সেলোনা, ইংল্যান্ড-হল্যান্ডসহ আরও কয়েকটা জায়গায় প্রশিক্ষণ নিয়েছি। আমেরিকায় আমাদের বাসা হিউস্টনে। সেখানেও প্র্যাকটিস করেছি।
 এত খেলা থাকতে তুমি টেনিস বেছে নিলে কেন?
এসকোবার: কারণ, বাবা টেনিস পছন্দ করেন। তিনি চান আমি টেনিস খেলি। আমার ১২ বছরের ছোট ভাইটাও টেনিস খেলে। আমাদের তিন ভাইয়ের মধ্যে সবচেয়ে ছোটটাও (৪ বছর) টেনিসই খেলবে মনে হয়...(হাসি)।
 এখনকার টেনিস তারকাদের মধ্যে কাকে তোমার বেশি পছন্দ?
এসকোবার: অ্যান্ডি মারে। তাঁকে আমার খুব ভালো লাগে। জানি না কেন। রাফায়েল নাদালকেও পছন্দ। তবে মারেকে বেশি।
 টেনিস ছাড়া আর কোনো খেলা ভালো লাগে?
এসকোবার: ভলিবল ভালো লাগে। মাঝেমধ্যে খেলিও। আমেরিকায় বেসবল, রাগবি খুব জনপ্রিয়। তবে আমার ভালো লাগে না। আমি আবার রানিংয়ে ভালো। এবার দাহরানে একটা স্কুল প্রতিযোগিতায় ৮০০ মিটারে প্রথম হয়েছি।
 তোমার মা বলছিল, তুমি নাকি লেখাপড়ায়ও খুব ভালো। তা টেনিস খেললে লেখাপড়ার ক্ষতি হয় না?
এসকোবার: হ্যাঁ, লেখাপড়ায় ছোটবেলা থেকেই ক্লাসে ভালো করে আসছি। পাশাপাশি ৫ বছর বয়স থেকে টেনিস কোর্টে আমার নিয়মিত যাতায়াত। তবে এখন একটা সমস্যা হচ্ছে, আমি আসলে পেশাদার টেনিস খেলোয়াড় হব, নাকি লেখাপড়ায় ক্যারিয়ার গড়ব, এই সিদ্ধান্তটা নিতে পারছেন না মা-বাবা।
 বাংলাদেশে প্রথম এসেছ। কেমন লাগছে?

First of all, Shahadat's mental education level looks like rickshawala type. In a harsh note, the common sense says he should really go with Bangla cinema and act around people like DipJol. In a more practical note, the guy may be came out of a very ordinary background and totally cluecless about the environment required for a elite game of cricket. The most shocking and offensive one may his Paki likeness. I wished he tried to idolize imran khan in terms of how to talk and not someone like Afridi, another clueless stupid.

Secondly, I think BCB needs to make sure all these cricketers go through certain programs, education. BCB can even show some video on the celebrity like Tendulkar and even his own idle SRK on how they handled the media, what is decent and indecent.

Finally, I would say fan, specially girls don't take it offensively even though logically it goes that way. Someone (like lamisa) needs to help this candid bloke and teach him some values on how to think about life, respect other people. Its nothing wrong to like tall, cute girl but make sure you do not publicly undermine other girls. This is called etiquette and decency. Since, he seems to be a good guy, with time nature will teach him that its not the fair or dark skin girl from outside look that really matters, the person has a inner beauty too.

One thing, I must say, the prothom alo reporter is also either stupid or Shahdat's enemy. There is an old saying on stupid, "never argue with a stupid..because they will first bring you to their level and then beat with experience". In Shahadat's case, be careful about stupid reporters..they will only bring trouble for you, man!

 হা হা হা। এতক্ষণে সত্যি কথা বলছেন। ঠিক আজকেই আমি এটা চিন্তা করছিলাম। বাসায় থেকে থেকে একটু ফরসা হয়ে গেছি। সে দিন কলাবাগান ক্লাবে চুক্তি করতে গেছি। এক বড়ভাই বলছিলেন, কী খবর? তোকে তো আজ খুব সুন্দর লাগছে। সিনেমা-টিনেমা কর বেটা। তুই গেলে তো সাকিব খানও পারবে না তোর সঙ্গে। আরেকজন বলল, উনি তো কথাটা খারাপ বলেনি। নায়ক সাকিব খান কিন্তু ইচ্ছা করলেই ক্রিকেট খেলতে পারবে না। কিন্তু তুমি খেলোয়াড় হলেও সিনেমা করতে পারবে। তুমি সিনেমা করলে সবাই একবার না একবার সিনেমা দেখতে যাবেই। আমিও ভেবে দেখলাম, এতে তো সিনেমার পরিচালকেরও অনেক লাভ। তখন বললাম ঠিক আছে।
 আপনার তাহলে নায়ক হওয়ার ইচ্ছা আছে...
 হ্যাঁ, ইচ্ছা আছে নায়ক হওয়ার। সত্যি কথা। নাটক-ফাটক-মডেলিং করে লাভ নেই। একটা সিনেমা করলে পরিচালকও ভালো টাকা কামাতে পারবে, আমারও পরিচিতি বাড়বে। সবাই বলবে শাহাদাত কি মুভি করছে, দেখে আসি।
 অ্যাকশন নায়ক হতে চান না রোমান্টিক নায়ক?
 অ্যাকশন না, রোমান্টিক। আমি সব সময় শাহরুখ খানকে পছন্দ করি। আমার ফেবারিট নায়ক। আমি শাহরুখের মতো হতে চাই। অ্যাকশন তো থাকবেই, তবে রোমান্টিকটা বেশি থাকবে।
 নায়িকা হিসেবে কাকে পছন্দ?
 বাইরের ধরলে প্রীতি...প্রীতি, প্রীতি জিনতাকে আমার খুব পছন্দ। তবে বাংলাদেশে আমার কোনো পছন্দের নায়িকা নেই। বিন্দুকে ভালো লাগে। কিন্তু ও তো নায়িকা না, মডেল।
 কোনো পরিচালকের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ হয়েছে?
 দু-একজনকে চিনি। টুকটাক এফডিসিতে যাই। অনেকে বলেছেন, সিনেমা করলে যোগাযোগ করতে।
 সিনেমা হিট হলে খেলা কি ছেড়ে দেবেন?
 না না না। এটা ভুল কথা। তিন-চার মাস যখন ফ্রি থাকব তখন একটা মুভি করব। তবে ক্রিকেট ছাড়ব না।
 প্রথম সিনেমায় নায়িকা হিসেবে কাকে চাইবেন?
 হা হা হা। বাংলাদেশি নায়িকাদের আমার পছন্দ না। সিরিয়াসলি। যেগুলো আছে সব মোটা মোটা। এগুলার একটাকেও আমার ভালো লাগে না। আমি মডেলদের মধ্যে থেকে নায়িকা বেছে নেব। মডেলদের মধ্যে সুন্দর সুন্দর লম্বা মেয়ে আছে।

 না, ওগুলো হবে না। সিনেমা তো আমার পেশা না। হয়তো বা শখে দু-একটা করলাম। মুভি করলেও আমি রেগুলার করব না। হঠাৎ হঠাৎ করব। ওটাই ভালো।
 ক্রিকেটার হয়ে যেটুকু সফল, নায়ক হলে কি আরও বেশি সম্ভাবনা ছিল?
 এটা আমি জানি না। ক্রিকেটার হয়েছি বলেই এ কথাগুলো বলতে পারছি। ক্রিকেটার না হলে মানুষ আমাকে চিনতেই পারত না। আমার লুক এ রকম থাকত না।
 সিনেমার নায়ক আর ক্রিকেটারের মধ্যে পার্থক্য কী?
 ফিল্ম জগৎ তো ফিল্ম জগৎ, আর আমরা ক্রিকেটারেরা ক্রিকেটার। ওরা ব্যস্ত থাকে শুটিং নিয়ে। আমরা ব্যস্ত থাকি খেলা নিয়ে। পার্থক্য তো অবশ্যই আছে। আমি মনে করি, একজন ক্রিকেটারের যে জীবন, ফিল্ম জগতে এ রকম মজার জীবন নেই। আমরা খেলতে গেলেও ঘুরি, মজা করি। ওরা একটা জায়গায় বন্দী থাকে। আমি মনে করি, ফিল্মের নায়কের চেয়ে এটার মূল্য অনেক বেশি।
 মৌলিক একটা পার্থক্য তো আমরাও দেখি, তারা মেকআপ নিয়ে তারকা। আপনারা মেকআপ ছাড়া তারকা...
 এটাই হলো কথা। এটাই মানুষ দেখতে চায় বেশি করে। আফ্রিদিকে সবাই পছন্দ করে কেন? কারণ ও মেকআপ করে না। যেটা তার ভালো লাগে ওটাই। ফিল্মে অনেক সময় পাউডার-পুওডার দিয়ে কালো লোককে ফরসা করে ফেলে। আমাদের মধ্যে ওসব কিছু নেই। মাশরাফি ভাই, আমি—আমাদের আল্লাহর রহমতে ওরকম কিছু লাগাতে হয় না। আল্লাহ যা দিয়েছেন, লাখ লাখ শুকরিয়া। বাংলাদেশে অনেক ফিল্ম স্টারের এ রকম নেই, সত্যি কথা। চামড়া সাদা হলে তো আর সব হয় না।
 নায়ক হওয়ার জন্য আপনার সবচেয়ে বড় প্লাস পয়েন্ট কোনটা?
 আমার হাইটটা অনেক ইম্পরটেন্ট। চেহারাও আল্লাহর রহমতে ভালো।
 প্রায়ই দেখি শেভ না করে অনেক দিন থাকেন। মুখে খোঁচা খোঁচা দাড়ি নিয়ে ঘোরেন। রহস্য কী?
 রহস্য কিছুই না। দাড়ির ব্যাপারে আসলে আমার শহীদ আফ্রিদিকে বেশি ভালো লাগে। আমার দাড়িও ওরকমই। প্লেয়াররা সবাই বলে দাড়ি থাকলে আমাকে আফ্রিদি আফ্রিদি লাগে। বিদেশে গেলেও দাড়ি থাকলে কেউ বলে না যে আমি বাংলাদেশি। বলে পাকিস্তানি। তো আমার দাড়ি সুন্দর দেখে আমি দাড়িটা রাখি। এ ছাড়া আর কোনো ইয়ে নেই।
 কোনো মেয়ে কি কখনো বলেছে আপনাকে দাড়ি রাখলে সুন্দর লাগে?
 অনেকে অনেক কিছু বলেছে। দাড়িতে অনেক ভালো লাগে। ওরা বলে, তুমি যা করো সেটাই ভালো লাগে। শেভ করলে ভালো লাগে, দাড়ি রাখলেও ভালো লাগে। তবে সমস্যা হলো যেদিন শেভ করি, সে দিন আমাকে মুরগি মুরগি লাগে। এ জন্য দাড়িই ভালো।
 তো এখন যে বান্ধবীবিহীন অবস্থায় আছেন। এভাবে কয় দিন?
 দেখি, আল্লাহর রহমতে কয় দিন থাকি। আপনি যখন ইন্টারভিউটা ছাপবেন সবাই আসবে, সমস্যা নেই। হা হা হা। সবাই জানবে রাজীব খালি আছে।
