Since this match will be a draw... we will something, inshallah. We will gain 1 point in the cricket ratings while Zimbabwe will lose 1. :fanflag::fanflag::fanflag:

AS far as I know, the ICC test champoinship table is based on series basis and not on a test match basis . So we wont be getting any points for a drawn match. If we had drawn the series (i.e. both washouts perhaps), we would have shared points.

1. Highest Team Total against Zimbabwe
2. Ashraful's realization that he is nervous when he reaches the nervous nineties, and could get out in the nervous nineties again
3. Monjurul Islam Rana's good shots
4. Shahriar Hossain Bidyut, and Monjurul Islam Rana's inability to leave the balls that are outside the off stamp perfectly like Hannan does - an indication of how our domestic cricket is going
5. The realization that over 2 years of Test cricket, we still can't bowl out Zimbabwe, the 9th test playing nation under 400
6. We again drop way too many catches; in fact the number 5 point can be considered with this number 6 point as to why and how our bowling can improve (that is, support from the fielders is vital)
7. There are way too many lbw decisions going against us, which indicates that our batting techniques overall hasn't improved much, even after a 1 month long campaign with a specialist batting coach.

This is what had confused me!

ICC Table FAQ

7 ) How does the new system compare with the previous ICC Test Championship system?

The four main differences between the previous system and the new system can be summarised as follows:

- it reflects performances in all Test Matches, including (a) 'dead rubbers' where the result of the series is already decided and (b) any one-off Tests that do not qualify for a series bonus

- it reflects performances in all Test series completed since a given date, in contrast to the previous system which included some series played 6 or 7 years earlier yet excluded some more recent series

- in any series, both teams always have the opportunity to improve or worsen their rating; in the previous system, the side winning the previous corresponding series could not improve its rating, while their opponent's rating could not fall

- it recognises the different strength of opponents faced by different teams so that, for example, a side that has played recent series against the lowest rated countries would not have any inherent rating advantage over a side that has not yet played them

i can't think we won something. we actually lost. even though it was a draw, it was a draw gifted by rain. before this test every single article i read about bd cricket (not written by bd people) has this lines somehow somewhere.....bangladesh, who lost 26 tests out of 27 and the only test that didn't loose was washed out by rain........

now this lines will look line, bangladesh, who lost 26 out of 28 tests, and the only 2 tests they didn't loose was washed out by rain. so we are where we were. moreover, we lost our chances to win a test match against the weakest opponents. and don't see the chance to win a test until we meet them again or another country gets test status.
...........anyway, its over. lets think of the odi's now.

Actually, Zimbabwe also could not win a test match against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka.

Thogh, they had drawn quite a number of tests against Sri Lanka.

Here's one additional point: Sri Lanka's Nwan Zoysa (I think) is the first bowler from Sri Lanka who had taken a hat-trick against Zimbabwe in Test match cricket. And guess who is the opponent. Its Zimbabwe.

First you tell us the opponent that suffered the hat trick... than you ask us to guess who they were...
