Worst innings of his easily. Bowled brilliantly, and bats like crap - you should've batted like this in those tests vs WI.

Where's the heartbreak smiley when you need one?

After this crappy innings, I'm sure as heck is going to be pissed if he plays one of those retarded slogs in tests.

Something very much wrong. I am sure something wrong inside the team.

I never seen him playing a selfish innings before. Something is really wrong.

^^ Something is wrong inside the team, we're collapsing more regularly.

I think he successfully batted himself out of form...

I got the same feeling too. He is just maintaining his average job, no intention to do anything else whatever the needs are. Tamim is also in same motion I assume. No way we can be sure, but both of their lifeless presence in recent games really ask some questions. Too bad rest are not worth.

He ate up so many balls. He wasn't even trying to be creative like he usually does. This is not his usual self, I'm sure he'll be back to his old self soon.

May be Shakib is to blame or may be someone else. I don't bother. All this thing point out to mismanagement and lack of leadership in the system.

It's not an easy job to manage young boys if you don't have a good system. Unfortunately we don't have that. Our management does dirty politics involving them (power, club, board position). I feel sorry for these boys.

To be fair, I think he was completely out of sorts, he tried hard to pick the gap but kept on finding the fielders. Hopefully it's a one off or it's a painful test series ahead :(

cut him some slack... it's not easy coming to bat on the 5th or 6th over every single match with the team in a dire situation. Had he played this sort of knock when we were in a good position i would have been angry... but the situation was 19/4... all he could do was stay there with Nasir...

Don't blame him. The whole effing team is out of form! We need new faces. I hate bringing in new kids, but our starting XIs clearly lost it. Bunch of Ashraheads

exactly...he came in the 8th over and played till the 41st over. He gave support to Nasir (who came in the 9th over)! I believe he did his best.

I think the selfish players are the losers such as Tamim, Imrul, Nafees, for getting out so cheaply and not trying to do their designated jobs which is to SCORE RUNS! and exposing the middle-orders sooooooooooooooo early. Add captain and VC to the list...I believe our VC is not ready to play the series. He hasn't bowled a single ball today.

So, Shakib, Nasir, Razzak, Sunny bowled and Shakib and Nasir batted for most of the overs. Now, you tell me what the h*** did Tamim, Imrul and Nafees do???? The top 3 losers scored 17 runs while eating up 43 balls.

I didn't like this idea before, but nowadays I want him to bat at 3. Clearly no one else is doing the job. And we need our best possible options at the top.

Why blaming Shakib? He pretty much saved an 'all out' within 100 runs. Why opening a thread against a player who tried to show some resistance. the first 3 including the captain is simply shameless. How much pressure you want Shakib to take?

I totally agree with you. We lost the match when 4 down for just 19 in 9.1 overs.

So how many times has Shak come down within the 10TH over? Even I'D get pretty freakin annoyed, he even has to bowl sensible while the others give wides every over. The day he goes out of form completely is the day BD will surelu lose any credentials in the intl format

Shakibrulez, didn't expect this thread coming from you. Shakib was not at his best today but he is not the main culprit here. He can't clean up the mess of the top order every time. He worked hard, came out of his usual style, resisted the temptation for cut/sweep shots just to stay at the crease. I am pretty sure Law has sent him with that responsibility. You can pretty much tell from his body language that he was not allowed to play his natural game and get out. That's where he was not looking comfortable at all. He bowled and fielded superbly and was extremely tired on the other hand Nasir didn't bowl today and I think in today's game he was given the task to bat and score runs and he did that. Shakib provided huge support in Nasir's innings and not to forget Nasir was very slow too in fact both of them were actually having same strike rate before Nasir's 50.

I can't believe that the person who worked his heart out with both bat and ball and tried to play a face saving innings is getting called as selfish. He cannot repeat his Multan innings every time the team is at 10/3 or 19/4. Let's be happy that we have found someone like Nasir to share Shakib's burden now. My only fear is the burden of our expectations and being overly critical about Shakib (add to that how the media is after him) is affecting his style and mental strength. He is losing his confidence and rhythm. It's not good for us :( . Let him play and let's appreciate his hard work and the VALUE that he brings in the team.

Shakib looked out of sorts and yet he managed to score 34 runs and hanged in there and put a partnership over 100 runs with Nasir when team was facing another 58 embarrassment.

Tell me another batsman who did so ?

Shakib didn't play like himself at all, he was in all sorts of discomfort. Something must have been wrong, but it could be anything. I'm NOT a fan of conspiracy theories, certainly not against one of the best players our country has ever produced. He'll get back to his feet, and start driving this team in no time, I strongly believe.

Guys don't get me wrong. I admit that it was good to see him steady the ship and all that. But he does a far better job than this - he rotates the strike better and times the ball much better. His placement was terrible yesterday. Perhaps it's a one odd thingy.

If this was any other batsman, I'd not have started this thread. I was just frustrated to say him play a fairly ordinary innings. Of course he doesn't deserve any blame for yesterdays loss, surely.

Funny, out of all the players who really tried and brought us to a respectable lose, you're blaming him. The blame needs to fall on the top 4 really.
Shakib has burnt him self out trying to shoulder the burden of the team when he was the captain and when he is not.
