BanglaCricket is please to announce the unveiling of new Tools section. This section will contain various Cricket related calculation tools and software. You can navigate to the tools section from the navigation bar of the main site.

The first entry in what we hope to be a growing tool catalog is the Beta version of Target Run, Rate and Over Calculator (TRROC). As you may all recall, we unveiled the Alpha version during the U-19 World Cup. Many members field tested it and we thank them all for their effort and suggestions. The Alpha version did have some bugs and we went back to the drawing board to design a new bug-squasher. Chinaman gave up his day job for a while and hit the math books and yes, he can afford to give up his day job. Hats off to Chinaman. Huzzah. Pip Pip. Abey oi.

Of course, we countenance you to remember the old adage - GIGO (Garbage in, Garbage out). In this Beta version, we have tried to trap some but not all invalid data. So it is possible to plug in unlikely scores and get unlikely results.

As you put TRROC through its paces, you will also realize that we have some data validation scripts that should prevent you from entering bad data. Again, these scripts are neither comprehensive nor complete and we request all of you to give us examples and suggestions. Brickbats you can mail to the Zimbabwe tour organizers.

You will also notice two "Chart" buttons. These do nothing for now, but we are working on implementing code that will allow users to chart over time various innings scenarios. Again, user suggestions on what charts might be useful are most welcome.

For our next tool, we may tackle the enormously complicated D/L rain rule calculator. I am in the process of digesting a 15 page manual. I was wondering if anyone here has a copy of the complete D/L table. I know we could buy it but if someone has a soft-copy we would appreciate it.

excellent work!...I hear the ICC might consider scraping D/L method in favour of another method currently under testing. This is a rumour which I have heard so please don't quote me on it :)

Sorry, I had to quote you :)

Hmmm... perhaps we should wait before tackling the DL thingie...

Any suggestions for other "cool tools"?
