$We dont learn anything from mistakes. That's why we r in same state last 10 years. Our bowlers give friendly full tosses in death overs. Our batsmen get out scoring 20+ in faul stroke. Our tailenders are crap when necessary. We don't deserve to win matches with this mentality.

Please people BD has proved enough last night. An overall good performance. We should remember that our tail-enders are underexposed, how can you expect for a team to win where we get 1/2 matches away. That too with teams like zimbabwe/west indies. I think Law's working with the boys. Very impressed at the running between the wickets technique. Best of luck to them for the following matches. Hope they learn well :)

we've won enough matches in the clutch recently (England wins in 2010, 2011, a couple of NZ wins) to indicate we aren't the biggest chokers in the game (South Africa, England, India).
this loss hurts, but you know what, it was a hell of a match, and we should take the positives forward.

For BD's bad luck, they are not playing many international matches and it seems for the rest of the year they will not play many more. They need need to play at least 18 international ODI's for the year.
How many are they playing this year?

BPL will really help us in this area. But we cant play 5 foreigners. Our guys must in the centre of it. They must be the ones to play in the pressure cooker situations, where they are defending 10 run in the last over, or have to score 6 from the last 3.

The problem is not about our physique, not mentaliy....but lack of skills and determination to become better.
I think our players are educated and all they care about is playing for BD and get some money. You need to be smart. Think about tamim, shakib and mushfiq, these guys will take advantage of any oppurtunity given to them. e.g. Athar was telling sakib was one of those few in DR who discussed a lot with foreign players
Other players also need to step up, know about the world, learn from others, watch cricket videos and stuff. Thats where the language barrier and lack of charisma comes to play. They have a feeling of discomfort.
This thing is to be changed. They need to understand that the better they play, the more love he will get, the more famous he will become and the more money he will get. Even if you think in such greedy ways it works for you. Owners of succesful companies maybe greedy too, thats y they are able to make a money making business from trash(not literally).

I think there is a problem in technical skill, mentality as well as physical ability-all three. But to go with the title of the thread lets talk about the mental aspect of our game.
Think how Jahurul, Nazimuddin, Mushfiq, Riyad, Mashrafee, Razzak got out. None of those were technical faults, rather poor premeditated shot selection. Key here is premeditated. They have to learn to play according to the merit of the ball, unless the situation requires them to throw their bat at anything that comes their way. Unfortunately the situation wasnt. Lack of intelligence, lack of planning, whatever you call it, it was the lack of mental ability that led to our downfall

mashrafee tried to bowl yorkers but due to his foot problem he could not throw the ball properly so it became full tosses

Then explain why he bowls poorly all the time in the depth? And Mash himself should know that he is a poor finisher so shouldve walked off and let shahadat bowl, who balled quite well in the BPL, owing to his yorkers

Rubel and Nazmul are probably our best bowlers for the death overs.
But we lack in a strike bowler who can knock off partnerships or dismiss tail enders at one go. Sri Lanka relies on Malinga, India relies on Zaheer, Pakistan relies on Ajmal and Gul. We dont have a bowler who can finish things off. I dont know how we allowed Pakistan to score so much the other day. Had we knocked off Gul much earlier we could have finished them off under 240

That roles go to Sakib, lalla can also do that. But our pace battery isnt durable and in the latter overs it runs out of charge
But the way we fielded today, we can make the batting order of both teams look on the blunt side

Fielding was unusually good. The guys were in an attacking mode, and diving in ways we are not used to. Work of Jason Swift?

I'm actually not displeased. For once our batsman attempted to chase the target [properly], got the hard work done, and just failed due to tail-enders indiscretions.

An real top quality cricket team will have much and well trained players from the top to bottom. lalla and mash where our weak link which says we arent a professional cricket team
Not being able to score even 250 in our own backyard...

I wholeheartedly agree with you.
I think we are overreacting to this loss because of the frustration,we were so desperate to beat Pak,but it didn't happen.
To beat teams in such situations we need to be in this kind of situations more often,
we need to be competitive at first.
Even Srl lost to Ind after Mahela & Sangakkara's brilliant start, both threw away their wickets, if this can happen to top players/sides it can surely happen to us.
I'd rather take the positives from our fielding and bowling, aswell as the way we chased.

indeed, it's not often that the top 3 of BD score some runs, Tamim out of form ,NAzim & Jahu coming to the ODI squad after long time did manage to give us some sort of a platform which Ryad & Mushy couldn't capitalize. -_____-

If we don't get more opportunities to play with teams like Aus/Eng/SA...then how can we begin to develop the mentality that we can win....look at the FTP...it's the same old ZIM/kenya/WI/Ireland.....

so true :(
If only we won that match we could have had a good shot at the semi finals. I know it sounds weird but I think it was an important match for our team to gain some attention
