Bangladesh celebrated the end of a five year wait for international victory when they beat Zimbabwe in Harare.
Fans took to the streets in Dhaka after the eight-wicket win in the second one-day international, their first victory since the 1999 World Cup

"This was a great victory for us, especially after so long," said Bangladesh captain Habibul Bashar, who top-scored with 61.

"The tension in the dressing room was almost unbearable. But we managed it."

Back home, the Bangladesh capital was a blur of firecrackers, car horns, singing and dancing.

17 May 1998 beat Kenya by 6 wickets, Hyderabad
24 May 1999 beat Scotland by 22 runs, Edinburgh
31 May 1999 beat Pakistan by 62 runs, Northampton
10 March 2004 beat Zimbabwe by eight runs, Harare
Played 83, won 4, lost 77, no results 2

"This is absolutely brilliant. This is what we were waiting for," said Morshed Khan, who was celebrating with his friends after watching the match live on satellite television.

In a thrilling finish, pace bowler Tariq Aziz was called upon to bowl the final over, and responded with two wickets in consecutive deliveries.

Bangladesh are still waiting for their first Test win, three-and-a-half years after they joined to top cricket nations.

But the time elapsed since their last one-day victory, over Pakistan, goes back to May 1999.

The beat Scotland during the same tournament, and their other one-day win came the previous year against Kenya.
