Whenever any 15-16 years old perform brilliantly, i get scared thinking we may not spoil his career picking him too early and make him another Ash.

He bowls left fast medium. MoC bhai reckons he's the bowler who detonated Razzak's leg stump in the nets

Congrats Abu Haider Rony. We could do with a good Left Arm Fast bowler. Hopefully, he and the likes of him get a chance to spend some substantial time with a good fast bowling coach at this juncture of his career so that in 2/3 years time when they graduate to the national team they know all about fast bowling and fitness.

Very good find, can we confirm it's him? I have seen the video once I remember he seemed aggressive and run-in-hard kind of bowler. Only 16? With him along Taskin Ahmed Tazin looks like a formidable pace line up. Add Noor Hossain, Soumya and Anamul this is THE team to beat.

Would like to know more about this kid.

We need a lefty seamer...the fact that he's barely 16 explains why he doesn't have a FC or professional club association yet. That will most likely change. I wonder who scouted him into the U19 side then? How'd he get spotted? I'll bet it was Chacha.

Eshen

I am sure intrigued by him! I hope his coaches will teach him well how to stay injury free.

it's just unbelievable. I Thought this year's team ain't that good. But it's extremely hard to believe Someone who is a seamer and Bangladeshi. May be time is changing so fast. He has got the potential. It's bout how We gonna use him. All the good signs are in front of us. Everyone was speaking for TASKIN. It's just so good to see Someone replacing someone's slot. Wow. Well done boy. Big names come from this hyper performance.

^ Not very impressed with his height & build and he looks to be around 18/19. Shommo on the other hand has got a very good physique to be a powerful batsman.

Sohel
June 25, 2012, 12:57 AM
Rony looks wirey like Rubel and Talha before him. Good fast bowling has a lot to do with desire and biomechanics also, not just height and build. That being said, SS said the boy known more for his ability to swing the ball both ways than brute pace.

TimAus
June 25, 2012, 07:16 AM
He's 16, in 3 years he could have grown another 10-20cm and with a professional work out regime he'll get bigger and stronger. At this age it's just good to see a guy bowling well and getting wickets.

Wow .. two in a row - one to replace Ash and the other to replace Razzak :D

'jokes' apart - real performance will show when these kids would play against Eng/Ind/Pak and SL kids. Qataris are there to make up the numbers - doubt if any of them held a real cricket bat or even a bowl before.

none the less - congratulations!

A more appropriate description would have been "a one-ball clip". Wish they had at least a couple more deliveries captured.

SS
September 6, 2012, 09:19 AM
even it is a one ball clip I like it as he is left arm seamer...looks slow medium pacer but hey no complain we really miss rasel, sajidul and from previous generations left seamers (e.g. manjurul, prince, dulu era when we had even two left medium openning pacers i believe)..we really need a left arm seamer badly

HereWeGo
September 7, 2012, 09:07 AM
you cant really judge someone seeing one delivery from a weird angle and not so clear video either... However he did get a good carry and seem to hit the gloves of the keeper hard. So that tells me he is atleast not Rasel like...
