Teams bought at the auction.

Team owners are now looking for managers slash selectors; men who will take on-field charges. Are you up for it? Select (http://banglacricket.com/alochona/showpost.php?p=1560381&postcount=2) a team of your choice (first come, first serve) and lead it to victory. (It will also determine the order during player draft.)

Are these the only teams that are up for auction?

Nope, as cricinfo reports, there are 16. These are the 1st 8. And my insiders says there is Toronto on the 2nd list.

(My plan is 16, and I have them picked out, and everything made. But if I don't get 16 members I could be in a mess so I started with 8. If you want I can bump Toronto on that list)

Tronto Rectors (a logo mishappen and mis-edit and it turned into a Rectors. Was not my first choice lol).

Where's Boston? Booooooo
on the 2nd half.

Gessh! I thought I put the popular names out up front. I guess I should just release the whole thing at once and go from there

AsifTheManRahman

I doubt any franchise will go unmanned. Btw, Rectors is pretty lame, lol, although not if you consider the Latin roots of the word.

I posted the whole list on post 2. Select away. Remembers names have been selected by the owners and the sponsors. You mission, select a city, get an early entrance to the auction.

Also, New Jersey is no longer available. NJ and Jay Z has decided to pull out of MLC, as he already wanted to change his team's location to Brooklyn. Also he was very unhappy with MLC's consulter Lalit K Modi and his weird love for Akon.

(First one won't match the dino on the logo, and I won't be able to fit it (TWSS). I try Tyrants and it fits the Raptors' dino.)

Aight, that's the special deal for the 2nd guy.. No Ajfar and Boston! No special deal for the third guy. No more name changes. Owners have already selected their teams' names and they are already official. We felt bad for Toronto as we couldn't pick up their accent. They said Tyrants and we wrote down Rectors.

Nope, you aren't. I have those well thought out. 15 players/team (Could push it up to 20 after I add up the player's pool. Format T20. Snake draft for season 1. Auctions from season 2 with the "money" you earn from this season. (I have not thought about the money system yet. I will open that up to discussion once we get through owning the team.)

Only thing I'm still not sure about is which simulation to use. I have couple of options but not exactly what I was looking for. I just have to make a decision.

I will go over the details once all the teams have been picked up.

I wanted a unique name for the team. MLS already has the San Jose Earthquakes. Tsunami also pays simultaneous homage to our ocean city's formidable Asian heritage :)

A great logo would've been a cricketer riding a Tsunami wave and hitting a six with the ball coming at us with the wave. Japanese traditional (Hokusai) motif would've been perfect.

http://www.the-platform.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/hokusai-fuji-from-the-sea.jpg

Also, I'd love to see cricket played at the Stick in our uniquely unpredictable cold and windy conditions. Planning to pack the team with quality swing bowlers and spinners who can use drift.

My whole goal was to mix and match the existing teams, not event new ones. But you are quite the visionary. My head spun around reading that. Unless you can get Mr Google to get hire the best gfx designer, that won't happen.

And MLC did not and will not collaborate with MLS. The soccer guys are MLC's main nemesis.

"Ones" should be "Once", right? There's a typo in "Mariners" also.

I think you should do home and way within the division, and make all of the playoff games best of 5 with home field advantage. The WS of course would be best of 7. Penguins isn't a good name for a cricket team. Pirates or Steelers would've been better IMO.

I think you should do home and way within the division, and make all of the playoff games best of 5 with home filed advantage. The WS of course would be best of 7. Penguins isn't a good name for a cricket team. Pirates or Steelers would've been better IMO.

That would be too long wouldn't it? I can make home/away for group stage. But best of 5s between 8 teams, plus championship/semis 5 games would make it too long. I went NFL style on playoffs, and every other league with the Finals.

I'm trying to get this started and hopefully finish it before my class starts. Just to kill time till WC starts.

Well, this could be an ongoing thing as long as the MLB season in theory. But I see your point.

Can we do a lottery based draft rather an auction, with all players becoming RFAs in the next season? Salary caps would be a great touch also.

How would you determine a match winner BTW?

We don't have any sort of cash system in place ATM. So we can't have salary caps, or bid auction. Therefore the first come, first serve w/ snake draft. Only rules I'm thinking applying are; Max 3 players from one country, 1 Assos, 1 American, squad length 15-20*.

I'm however thinking about having "cash" from season 2 (if season 1 works out and if people want season 2.) Your team will earn money through out season 1, based on random stuff I can think of, for ex, posting the line ups on time, being active here, good sledging, winning games, building a solid team, being on my good side :P, all in all managing your team well will earn you "money" this season. (FYI, if I start counting from right now, you are leading the money chart, Nadim is the lowest, as he hasn't even posted a HG yet lol.) I'm still working on that.

And to make sense of this season, who is paying your players this season? Well that's why you are suppose to name a rich daddy owner ;). Signing a good guy will also help your bank. I was also going to ask you guys to get sponsors, but I started on the kits early, so that wouldn't have worked. Not to worry, I got everyone hooked with decent sponsors.

- I don't know how many oldies I'll bring back. I will probably only let in retired players that are still active in some way or another (IPL, BBL etc).

- Coin toss. Hah no. Simulation. I'm still looking around for the best cricket sim. I haven't decided yet. Last resort; EA Cricket 07. But I really don't wanna have to, as it's been used before for too many times. And it's on my old comp, which I don't wanna dig out.

No, I'm not playing. Or else I will end up winning . I'm the CEO if you will. Lorgat if you will. Except I'm better than him and more successful. If you look at News Update 1 (http://i50.tinypic.com/28wj2b.png), you will see MLC's 10 year plan has come into action this year and within couple months it has taken over the world. No more IPL, no more BCCI ruling the world, no more meaningless boring series after series. With the help America's rich daddies and NFL/MLB/NBA, MLC's become the main source of cricket, with windows for ICC events. Because we don't want our cricketers to be labeled as traitors.

Welcome to America! Where we do **** the right way. :D

Unnnnkeeeel! Pick one, noo! lol

So they aren't even partner? What does "backed by" mean? You lose all her money and she goes over to Delly's and play a little cricket of their own and then she walks out with more money? Just sign Bullock as cheerleader or something, and get Dell. If you get two, someone else will want two, and it's a big mess. But if you do mean he "backing her" and it's off the book, then it's fine by me. Be aware, if she pisses him off, he will stop supplying.

TORONTO - The Toronto Tyrants revealed their MLC jersey at a solemn ceremony at the Air Canada Center on Friday. A rare public appearance by Shania Twain stunned the audience as the country Goddess took the stage to kick things off with the Canadian national anthem. Rogers Communications President and CEO Nadir Mohamed and Air Canada main man Calin Rovinescu then arrived to mount their respective thrones, as an enlarged model of the Tyrants' jersey was seen rising in the background to a tune that was best described by someone in the audience as "destructive and very military".

http://i48.tinypic.com/9u86f8.png

The two men, clad in sports coats with the MLC and Tyrants' logos etched into them, then took turns to speak about the franchise, its prospects and their expectations for season one.

"As always, the goal is to trump all competition and be the ones that we ourselves want to beat. It is the legacy of the Rogers and it is how Rogers Communication has maintained its status as the number one choice for its customers over decades. Telus has tried, Wind has tried, Koodo has tried, but as a business, we have always managed to kill competitors with the flick of a finger, as if they were mere ants, irrelevant and undeserving of life. I would like to have the same attitude on display for the duration of the season, because being at the top is all that matters", exclaimed a haughty Mohamed.

"Air Canada is proud to be the official sponsor of the Toronto Tyrants. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Rogers Communications for giving us an opportunity to establish our superiority over American corporations in yet another domain - that of sports. We have crushed US Airways, AA, Delta and South West and intend to continue our domination in every aspect of business", said Mr. Calin Rovinescu.

Curious eyes then turned to a lesser known figure, that of AsifTheManRahman, recently appointed manager of the Tyrants. Beads of iron across his neck and an iron ring on his pinky, he approached the podium with an air of destruction. "When Kerry Packer lured players into joining the World Series, the world had disbelievers galore. The rebels were the minority and acts of bravery ridiculed. Today, the world is a transformed place, where there is a huge movement towards eradicating sissies and ensuring survival of the fittest. Men like Dilscoop have set the platform and it is now up to us to implement [the plans]".

"Our opponents will be crushed to sawdust, brought down to their knees on the cricket pitch, begging for mercy, blood shooting out of their eyes in place of tears. We shall destroy confidences and careers. We shall stamp our authority on every member - manager, official and player - of every other team, ruling the points table of this league with an iron fist. We shall decide and control the fates of grown men with our batting, bowling, fielding and wicket-keeping. We shall ensure that they expect to lose, that they come to the ground knowing they have no chance".

The general attitude of the franchise meets expectations set earlier by rumours about the Tyrants starting the inaugural season of the MLC with an aggressive campaign. With further adieu, the officials left, one by one, to attend a boardroom meeting to discuss "World domination strategy", as a spokesman put it, at the Rogers HQ on Bloor and Jarvis.

Torontonians' React to Tyrants' Jersey

The streets of downtown Toronto seemed upbeat on Friday afternoon, thanks partly due to the upcoming Simcoe Day long weekend, but mostly in anticipation of the impending MLC victory.

"God save the Queen, the Queen the Queen and Her Tyrants...[and some more that got lost in drivel]", sang a local mounty before he rode off on his horse, clearly intoxicated from the bottle of maple syrup in his pocket.

"Yo man, the jersey looks so-effing-lid. Totally digging it, ya'll, Tyrants FTW man!", was the reaction of Sherbourne-Shuter crackhead Thomasz Hiedelberg.

"L.O.V.E the jersey, but they should have had a vampire and a werewolf instead of a dinosaur on it", said 16 year old Natasha Goyal.

Robin Scherbatsky, a New York resident visiting family in Toronto for the long weekend, was upbeat about the chances of the Tyrants in season one. "I think we will definitely win and having a cool jersey simply propels us towards that direction", she said, before running off in the direction of Dundas Square, humming "Let's go to the mall, TODAY", followed by "Two beavers are better than one".

The MLC CEO may wish to announce a cut-off date. If not, we may never get this started in time.

We have 10 teams now and should consider a Plan B with 2 divisions (MLC West & MLC East) and a new format (home and away, top 2 from each division meet in best of 3 semifinals). 10 teams in the inaugural season ain't bad. We can always expand the league later.

MLC West:

1. Seattle

2. San Francisco

3. Los Angeles

4. Texas

5. Chicago

MLC East:

1. Toronto

2. Boston

3. New York

4. Philadelphia

^ Yes, I've thought about it. But I don't think I'll move onto plan B just yet. It's been 24 hrs since we opened it up, and we already have 10 teams. So I hopeful we will get rest of them filled in.

16 team is my goal. 10 teams would be too easy for me to manage personally, so I want the challenge. Or else I'll be bored.

Hopeful hires: Tiger_eyes, Simon, AFAIK, F6, and if BK can stop acting so confused...

BK is "Tale matal jate t'hik" if you catch my drift. Make Tom Benson, owner of the football Saints the owner. He's worth $1.1 billion. Gaylord Chemical Corporation could be the sponsor.

Get TE to do Denver.

@BK: Dilscoop has already taken care of the logo and the jersey bro. I assume the fantasy games would be played in EA Cricket simulation after player stats are manually updated by Dilscoop. I just hope the updates are up to date because that would make an impact of the AI doing the simulation. Inputting the right match conditions are also just as critical and Google can be used to discover the actual weather conditions during game time. Cold and windy conditions at the Candlestick should work to my team's advantage when swing bowlers like Gul or Malinga bowl for the Sharks simply because they're more familiar with home conditions.

Also, Dilscoop should provide updated scorecards and pics during matches.

@Dilscoop: You should drop Green Bay and another team from your list. GB is a legendary football town but isn't really a major league city in any way, shape or form. I've been there. Think a sleepier, more agro version of Daly City.

 Good post. Good to know at least one of my manager is aware of things.

As I've said, EA sports was my last hope. EA Cricket AI is very boring and old, and I did not want to use it. It was going to be my last resort. But I came here with a good news. I don't have to use EA! I found a another simulator. (But that also means no in game picture, or seeing players wearing the jersey and stuff. Annnnd, I wasn't going to do that anyways. Do not have the time to make all the in-game patches. I don't even remember how to anymore.) With this simulator I can just update their skills/stats and not have to make faces and bodies. My life will be a lot easier. So all in all, very exciting news.

Yes, I'll provide updates in between games. And post scorecards between innings, provided by top class ESPN3. (That's what I've been busy with past 2 days, making player pool, typing all the names, making fixtures and scorecards. Don't worry, I have it all figured out. I planned it for a while. I gat this. :))

And yes, about the pitch. I was just about to ask you guys to make your "Pitch type" based on the whether in your area. Another great points.

@Dilscoop: You should drop Green Bay and another team from your list. GB is a legendary football town but isn't really a major league city in any way, shape or form. I've been there. Think a sleepier, more agro version of Daly City.

I want 16 teams. I can replace Green Bay. That was one of my last choices. Who do you guys want go against? Give me a city from up north that will be popular amongst the BCers?

We are proud to announce that rebuilding work for Germantown Cricket Club Ground which is our home ground has been completed. Bradley Cooper was present at the opening ceremony and expressed his full satisfaction about the facilities.

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ooFVr6s65vM/TZtnM9wo3FI/AAAAAAAABdI/BK_Mdt-o3a8/s1600/GermantownCricketClub.jpg

Brief History:

The Germantown Cricket Club is a cricket club in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was one of the four principal cricket clubs in the city and was one of the clubs contributing members to the famous Philadelphian cricket team. It was founded on 1 August 1854 in what is now the northwest section of the city. Its clubhouse was designed by architects McKim, Mead & White.

One of the most famous cricket matches held at Germantown was that against Lord Hawke's team in 1891. The game was attended by over 7000 spectators and led to the founding of the Associated Clubs of Philadelphia which selected the top cricketers in Philadelphia each year to represent the city on the Gentlemen of Philadelphia team. The Germantown Cricket Club was located in Nicetown from 1877 until 1890 when it moved to its present Manheim Street location after the merging with the Young America Cricket Club in 1890. [Wiki]

I don't see anyone going for Green Bay here. Not sure if any of the BCites live in Wisconsin. Montreal would be better IMO, but you gotta pick a name like the Canucks because the Canadiens logo has that "H" in the middle which stands for hockey and the name Expos is way too cryptic and outdated for most. The Alouettes (CFL) or Impact (MLS) may work once you get rid of the football in the Alouettes logo.

Just pick a team. It doesn't matter, after all it is a fantasy. This is a new ear. Even if Green Bay may not be a cricket town, you can set that up by building a good franchise. You can take away all the attention from Payton Manning and take Denver World Series! Pittsburgh is already popular! Please just pick one, and you will do just fine. KC could use a good sport team!

I can't change anymore things or create more jerseys. I have to create about 500 players on the sim. So please. :)

Attention managers: I've been working my butt out. Now it's going to be your turn.

Here are your next steps:

1) Pick a City
2) Name your owner
3) Get a Home ground
4) "Reveal" your team (Most of you haven't posted that yet)
5) Get a 2nd LOCAL sponsor for your team.
6) Hire Coaches and Staffs.
- a Batting, Bowling, Fielding coach. A Curator, Trainer/Physo, Asst. Coach/Specialist Coach (optional)
-And unless you've completed the previous steps (1-5), you won't have the "money" to hire that many coaches.
7) Make your center pitch, based on the weather of your area.

Pitch Speed: 1-10
Pitch Grip: 1-10
Pitch Bounce: 1-10
Pitch Variation: 1-10
Pitch Deterioration: 1-10

Please try to be as accurate as possible. All this steps are very crucial, and will determine the out comes.

(check Post 300, 301 for more help)

Thank you,
CEO, Major League Cricket

TORONTO - MLC franchise Toronto Tyrants have signed Richard McInnes, Jonty Rhodes and Troy Cooley as batting, fielding and bowling coach respectively. The trio will join the AsifTheManRahman led coaching staff in Toronto next week.

A Tyrants spokeswoman also confirmed the appointment of Grant Luden as trainer.

TORONTO - Gary Lewin, the England national football team physiotherapist, has reportedly handed in his resignation to join the Toronto Tyrants at the MLC. The switch happens amidst immense shock and confusion in the FA headquarters, with sources close to Lewin revealing that he was "getting tired of losing" and "needed a change" to be able to "work with a bunch of professional athletes determined to push themselves as far as they need to in order to be at their best".

"It isn't often that you see people giving up a footie career to go into cricket, innit?", inquired a visibly dejected David Beckham, long time colleague whose English national team debut came in the same match that Lewin was appointed physio of the football team.

Lewin was not available to comment, although sources claim he was spotted at the Lester B. Pearson airport in Toronto munching away at his poutine and downplaying the greatness of the shepherd's pie.

6) Hire Asst. Coaches and Staffs.
-- At least a Batting, Bowling, Fielding coach. A Curator, Trainer and Physo.
(IDK why the simulator needs it. I guess it factors all in). And unless you've completed the previous steps, you won't have the "money" to hire that many coaches.
7) Make your center pitch, based on the weather of your area.

Pitch Speed: 1-10
Pitch Grip: 1-10
Pitch Bounce: 1-10
Pitch Variation: 1-10
Pitch Deterioration: 1-10

Please try to be as accurate as possible. All this steps are very crucial, and will determine the out comes.

Finish these while we wait for 2 more managers.

Thank you,
CEO, Major League Cricket

Sounds good :). Too much BK lately, kinda got used to reposting/re-explaining things.

Just a quick question. I have about 400ish players, that includes Elites, Avg, Ashrafuls, Assos, but very little no namers. Their application wasn't accepted as they have little chance of getting drafted. Should I list more? Or will that be enough.

16*15=240, so 400 might still be ok. 16*20=320, so you're probably good even if it's 20 players per side.

The MLC Sharks Land Shane Warne as Coach, Wasim Akram as Bowling Coach, Robin Singh as Fielding Coach, and Paula Patton as Physio/Booster.
Updated 9:26 PM PST., Saturday, August 4, 2012

San Francisco, CA- Shane Warne has signed a 5-year contract as the Coach of the San Francisco Sharks for an undisclosed compensation package. Warne, flanked by Owner Larry Page and GM Sohel N. Rahman during the press conference held at the Fairmont Hotel Ball Room, expressed his determination to bring the first MLC championship to Baghdad by the Bay and add to its formidable championship tradition.

"We're looking forward to the draft and have a very clear idea as to what kind of combination and balance we want. We've also developed a strategy to give us an almost unfair advantage suited to the unique cold and windy conditions at Candlestick" said Warne. "Naturally we're thrilled to have Wasim and Robbin to help us succeed from the word go. Paula can make sure we're always in optimum shape. Camp will begin immediately after the draft at the Candlestick."

Warne did not rule out the possibility to play but said it would be highly unlikely.

@SNR, hmm. You don't need HC. I guess this is more baseball style or Andy Flower-ECB style. YOU guys are the manager or in cricketing terms, the head "coach". That's why the specialist coach for every dept. (And there is no room for "HC" on the thing as they expect you to be the HC/Manager"). I guess just drop one (between Wasim and Warne I guess) or you could do what NW did. And I'll use my judgement to calculate in the coaches "stat." I'll be as fair as possible. But do pick good people, not someone ridiculous.

Also if you find some else's pitch "unfair" or "unreasonable," challenge them.

Sohel
August 5, 2012, 12:43 AM
^My bad. I assumed the "manager" position to be that of the GM in all American sports. I think that's a good thing. Make Warne simply "Coaching Coordinator" then? If you can't, then I'll drop Hayden. All others are established T20 coaches with exceptional track records, not just some great ex player with no coaching creds. Paula is also a real fitness trainer BTW. Anyway, if Hayden is dropped, I fully intend to have experienced batsmen in my team capable of doing that job :)

^ GM-style was my plan at first. But with this sim, things have shifted a bit. But this way you can get your hands on other things. Or else technically you'd have been "done" right after the draft. But now it would make sense for you to select the XI and stuff. As Warne or who ever isn't in charge. ;)

Gotta have Warne. The best IPL coach bar none. I hope you followed his career there as a coach. He's not a "bowling coach". His coaching specialty lies in creating innovative and aggressive strategies and building the necessary synergy to execute those by utilizing his resources perfectly. Not spin bowling. Spin bowling features less significantly in my swing-centric bowling attack and I don't need a spin bowling coach as such.

1) List of players to be drafted?

2) Draft schedule?

3) Trade deadline?

I think you should publish all three ASAP and then work on other things. According to my understanding, N_W is being rewarded with a bonus draft pick for signing up a couple of days early, and by the same "logic" latecomers shouldn't have the early knowledge we should of who to draft and try and trade for before the deadline :)

lol bro it won't figure out all that! It won't recognize him as "Shane Warne" - the great all that you just said. But if I put him in as batting coach instead of Hayden (as all the other category is full), that will only hurt you as his stat/skill will be low for batting.

Once you post a trade deadline, the GMs here can trade players and future draft picks after the draft. Makes the draft strategy far more interesting because you end up drafting players you want to trade in order to get the players you want but couldn't draft.

Coaching ability and playing ability are totally different things and the AI must reflect that in order to be credible. In a star studded ceremony at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, owner of Texas Cowboys, billionaire Michael Dell of Dell revealed the franchises colors and kits of the Texas Cowboys for the upcoming Major League Cricket inaugural season. Flanked by the chairman and CEO of AT&T Randall L Stephenson and partner Sandra Bullock, the uniform was revealed in a Times Square at New York like ball-drop ceremony, where a huge replica of the uniform was lowered from the ceiling amongst balloon drops and the sounds of a thousand vuvuzela’s playing the team war cry.

Rallying the crowd, Dell spoke of Austin’s can do spirit. “Austin represents the spirit of Texas. Don’t mess with us. Don’t mess with the Cowboys”.

Major sponsor AT&T’s chairman and CEO Randall L Stephenson said, “We are damn proud to be part of this franchise. Just like they could not tear AT&T apart and the baby bells all came back home to mama, they will not be able to tear apart the ‘boys. While I was at the ATT Bell labs, I actually got to play cricket with our researchers and engineers who use to play over the weekend in New Jersey. I love the game and I know Austin will love the game and the cowboys”.

In a surprise announcement, Dell said that they have approached the city for permission to have a purpose built stadium constructed on the banks of Lake Travis. Of course you can build a bouncy pitch inside a dome, but the bounciness would be impacted as the pitch deteriorates inside the controlled dome environment. That same controlled environment however, will create very little variation. I other words, bounce can be high but variation and deterioration lower than outdoor venues unless you're deliberately building an unstable, uncured pitch that simply goes to hell over time.

Arrey bhai, this seems for me full time work inputs bhais...

The Saints Press Release:

New Orleans Saints names coaches:

Head Coach: Gordon Greenidge
Bowling Coach - Pace: Jeff Lawson
Bowling Coach - Spin: Anil Kumble
Fielding Coach: Julien Fountain
Trainer: Arnold Shcwarzenager
Physio: Dr. M.H. Rubel
Curator: Pedro Ganzales

BK again, read the instructions please. You are killing me! 1 Batting, Bowling, Fielding coach. So I'm just assign GG as your batting, Lawson as your bowling, Fountain as your fielding coach. I don't think you can't afford Arnold Shcwarzenager with your Popeye chickens. IDK Who Rubel is. I don't even know how am I suppose to convert Ganzales' stats into the sim! (Good thing curator is not part of the sim. I just added for fun...)

Your deadline is almost over. Get those positions filled out, or else you will run without a trainer = injuries.

lol guess who BK's acting right now?
