Toss Bangladesh Under-19s, who chose to field

Players per side 15 (11 batting, 11 fielding)

MohammedC
August 6, 2012, 06:10 PM
Why choose to field in a warm-up match. You want to make sure you bat the maximum 50 overs. Now that's sissy mentality.

Sohel
August 6, 2012, 06:34 PM
Good start from Rony. Just one from the first over.

Sco 3/1

August 6, 2012, 06:44 PM
Jayed was 1 of the top wicket takers in the NCL. Let's see how he does in the U19 level and see if he's the real deal or not.

Sohel

Rony's a left arm fast medium, confirmed. Reportedly bowls in the mid 130s. Daym good for someone that young, especially from a BD perspective.

Incredibly tight bowling from Rony as AJ picks up wickets. Good start for Bangladesh.

9-2/5

MohammedC

Great start but it would have been better if they opted to bat first and get some runs

Exactly my point. I am sure it was the team management who wanted to field first not Anamul.

MohammedC

Abu Haider bowls his first maiden

Sohel
August 6, 2012, 07:01 PM
Maiden over from Rony. Conceded just 3 runs in his 4 overs with econ currently at .75! No extras either.

the only Left armer of any pace we've produced was Sajidul Islam...and he had some talent from the one match against NZ...sadly he faded away.

al Furqaan
August 6, 2012, 07:03 PM
it says its a 15 man match with 11 batting and fielding...does that mean more than 11 can bowl?

Sohel
August 6, 2012, 07:03 PM
@Asaad: True. Sajid's decline was quicker than his deliveries.

Sohel
August 6, 2012, 07:05 PM
Nightmarish PP for the Scots so far.

al Furqaan
August 6, 2012, 07:06 PM
only 1 boundary conceded so far...

MohammedC
August 6, 2012, 07:06 PM
3 balls from AH no score. Abu's economy is 0.66

MohammedC
August 6, 2012, 07:08 PM
I like to see some runs so our batsmen can get a bit of practice in the middle.

MohammedC
August 6, 2012, 07:11 PM
Rahi also bowls a maiden.

Sohel
August 6, 2012, 07:13 PM

expensive over from rony...3 off it.

MohammedC
August 6, 2012, 07:16 PM
I think its time they introduce some spin.

Naeem Jnr (SLA)

Nasum (SLA)

Al-Amin (OB)

Mosaddek (OB): I have high hopes for this kid.

Sohel

I say he gets permanently dropped from all forms of cricket. I should probably open a thread to that effect.

Abu Jayed Rahi gets his 3rd wicket.

August 6, 2012, 07:18 PM
2nd one bowled for Rahi

Sohel
August 6, 2012, 07:19 PM
The persistent pressure pays off AJ picks up another one! Good captaincy from B to persist with what's working rather than make a pointless change for for its own sake.

al Furqaan
August 6, 2012, 07:19 PM
Btw, anyone notice Mosaddek is only 16...and so far sports a 54 average with the bat?

cricket_king
August 6, 2012, 07:21 PM
Freddie Coleman off the mark with a boundary - this guy's first class average is a whopping 65, with a highest of 110.

al Furqaan
August 6, 2012, 07:22 PM
I'll bet Rony will pick one up here.

Sohel
August 6, 2012, 07:23 PM
0nb and 0w from these two so far. Pretty unusual fro our seamers at any level.

our top 2 pacers haven't even bowled yet...Taskin and Dewan

cricket_king

The fast bowlers should get a break now. We may need them in the death.

MohammedC

MohammedC

We got 2 more fast bowlers we can use. Dewan Shabbir and Taskin

August 6, 2012, 07:31 PM
Taz brought into the attack. B's having a good look at his fast bowlers.

Equinox
August 6, 2012, 07:31 PM
Shoumya will probably have his medium-pace utilised too. Asif was reluctant to use him when he was captain.

Sohel
August 6, 2012, 07:36 PM
Expensive first over from Taz as he concedes 2 whole runs.

Sohel
August 6, 2012, 07:37 PM

MohammedC

And bowls a maiden to start with. Soumya has the hight to become very useful bowler.

Sohel
August 6, 2012, 07:40 PM
Maiden over from SS. It's great to see batting from a small, backwater town like Jamalpur can inspire a young batsman all the way from Scotland.

Outrageously expensive over from Taz.

MohammedC
August 6, 2012, 07:52 PM
Taskin a bit expensive

Equinox
August 6, 2012, 07:53 PM
Taskin bowls too many boundary balls for my liking. Hope he's not another Rajib in the making, capable of sheer brilliance in one moment but utter crap the rest of the time.

Sohel
August 6, 2012, 07:55 PM
I reckon the Highlanders are taking chances as they must given the runs on the board. We'll see boundaries as well as wickets.

MohammedC
August 6, 2012, 07:56 PM
May be not enough match practice after his return from injury

Sohel
August 6, 2012, 07:58 PM
But Lung'i will prevail over the Kilt today InshAllah.

MohammedC
August 6, 2012, 07:59 PM
Scotland's RR is 3 if they score anything above 230 we have a game in our hand.

MohammedC
August 6, 2012, 08:05 PM
Looks like its all out seam/pace attack by Bangladesh. Freddy is settled and hits his 4th boundary.

A fair few English lads in this Scottish squad. The captain Sadler is from Walthamstow :). But a healthy number of homegrown young Scots as well which is encouraging.

It'd be nice to win this without losing a wicket. Both SoSa and LKD are capable of batting sensibly and win this with about 15 overs to spare.
