Game is reduced to due to poor ground conditions. WTF?

So you can't prepare proper grounds for our players? What century are we living in here, the 17th?:lol::lol:

With the crazy weather and rain (Highly unexpected) around. Your team will be really lucky if they can extract 2 full days out of the game. ;) So, wouldn't have mattered much with an additional day :-p

Well again that isn't really the point is it? The main point here is that the cricket board can't manage a proper ground for foreigners to come play. Just now you all won't have any teams touring your country just like PAK.

But that's alright though, we FORGIVE you guys on this shortcoming just like we did for the World Cup bus stoning incident after that humiliating 58 all out defeat we gave you. ;)

That's really classless. We're Bangladesh. We're not England or Australia. So obviously our grounds and facilities won't be the best of standards.

Let's face the facts here. Both Bangladesh and the WI islands are third world countries. So we shouldn't be knocking each other in that regard. It's quite silly and unnecessary.

I don't understand how a board is supposed to "prepare" "proper" "grounds" for your players when its been raining heavily for past few days. I don't know which cricket board in the world can. Its not like it rained 2 weeks ago and the management cannot prepare the ground for practice. We would have pointed fingers at them before you did.

I don't mind that but let's knock each other's players rather then grounds and facilities because that's pretty low in my opinion.

Anyways, I understand your point that we bowled you out in a dead rubber match for 61 but you guys still got out didn't you? I think we can agree that you guys have the better team but we can also be a tough team at home at times and the 61 all out shows that. Best of luck to you guys and hope for a good series.

Yes the score is what it was, but why didn't they bowl us out at the beginning stages of the 3 match series? The fact is we won the series and only in the last no result dead rubber game that was the WI score. So I think it's pretty obvious that we really didn't care about winning that game. ;)

Tell that to Sammy and Co. and let's see if they agree to that or not.

You have to remember that Dhaka's pitch in that series was not really suited for us. Not too much turn for us and a good amount of bounce for your pacers. Which played towards your strengths while it played towards our weakness. Even the Chittagong Test, look at how you guys struggled. Why? Because the pitch played to our strengths and if we had more time that day, that game would've been interesting. That being said, credit to you guys no doubt because you guys ended up playing the better cricket and ended up winning both the important series.

One thing to note though, after that series, the curator for the Dhaka was fired after that series and then we got a new curator who laid down the pitches for the Asia Cup. Look how well we did in that tournament.

Again not saying we're the better team but we can prove to be a handful in our conditions. :)

Don't worry about it man, we'll see who's the better team on Tuesday. ;)

I do however think that this tournament will come down to who has the better batsmen rather than bowlers. With those spinning wickets and both sides have alot of spinners, it'll come down to the team who has the better batsmen who can play through these conditions.

Agree with your point. The team that fights harder with the bat will end up winning the series. You guys no doubt have the much better batsmen but question is how well will they do in the matches? That's the key and will be interesting to watch.

I think our spinners will give u guys a run for your money, don't expect your spinners to be the only ones to do damage, last time Permaul was there he ripped through the bangladesh batting and we all know how dangerous Narine can get. So don't expect to benefit from those conditions considering we also have bowlers who can thrive in that condition as well. ;)

You don't need to wait for Permaul and Narine. Rampaul and Edwards will finish the job with the new ball but will leave the tailenders for the spinners.

I agree with that. You guys have a very balanced bowling attack that can attack from all angles. You got Best and Fidel who have raw pace, and Sammy whose an intelligent bowler despite his limitations. Of course Rampaul is there and has done fairly well. I'm not underestimating Permaul and Narine either. They might be inexperienced but as we've seen in the past, our batsmen are really vulnerable to players that we haven't seen before. We, on the other hand, heavily rely upon our spinners and a once in a blue moon performance from Shahadat. So we have our work cut out for sure.

Dilscoop
November 7, 2012, 05:12 PM
^ Yup. They are very balanced alright. Narine is the trump card. Honestly, he fuzzes up all our equation. Now we can't attack with our spinners by making spinning tracks. None of our spinners are turners in the first place. They already got the ticks on pace over our "pacers." Gayle alone owns the whole batting line up.

Only way left for BCB is to botch up the WU games.

Well Shakib and Elias are pretty good turners from the ball from what I've seen but so is Narine and the problem is our batsmen are more vulnerable to quality bowling than theirs. So no doubt a tough task ahead but no reason why we can't fight against them and at least make them earn it.

We're bat pretty good against spin. There was a lot of hype about Bishoo last year and he was quite ordinary (didn't even make the squad this time) bowled at least one half tracker per over. On the other hand Sunny had your boys in a tangle last time and you might have to go up against Haque Jr who also ripped through WI in the Caribbean in 2009.

1.1 Shahadat to Gayle, 132 kph, the growl and the short ball first up has taken the mighty Gayle by surprise. Quality delivery, perfect line and length, just outside the offstump corridor with a bit of bounce and Gayle has a poke at it and edges it to Mushfiqur Rahim. Shahadat has a send off for Gayle as well. Oh dear, the Gangnam Style dance mimicking is horrible. Gayle is not pleased.
