he played 500+ ball and scored 400...amazing

500
------- = 16.667 ≈ 17 Balls.
30
Nah SS, u are being too passiminst here. On test matches your batsmen do survive more than that. or we'd be finished in 30 overs.
here is some fact of hope:
Against the same opponent, the lowest score of bangladesh in last series are
152 and 138, where WI had 47 and 93.
also, look at lara's stat against bd. nothing impressive. we can handle that!

Don't forget Bangladesh's 87 all out score and Jeremaine Lawson.
The only hope is that Whatmore is not such a faltu coach as Mohsin Kamal, so we won't see such lowest totals under the era of Dav Whatmore.

What's with all the pessimism? The only thing our boys may not be able to match is Sarwan, shot for shot... of rum in the stands.

Refreshingly pessimistic posts. Reminds me of the good old days.
Anyone counted how many balls Rafique delivered in most of the test matches? Pretty close to 400 balls.

Strong Objection on this coment!
perhaps this is the menatality that makes us lose every winning game and make every good game a bad one for us!!
our team needs to respect every class player but never take anyone as 'GOD' !!
By the way... Lara's Test batting average is 53.35, not 400 ;)

I can't agree with you more. It's fine to respect the top players of the world but on the field they are not your role model but merely your opponent who you want to beat with everything you have. We Bangladeshis needs to be lot more positive and have a stronger back bone. Respecting ourselves is the first step towards that.

I third you (since someone already second you!). We now have to remember that we are a test playing nation and same is WI. SL or ZIM started like us and they went high. let me add an old joke here, that might help u understand it better:
During the early days when india got test status and played against england, this joke was made by english people: Once a guy went to watch a test match between IND and ENG. he say the toss and india going on bat first. but he got a "call of nature" at that time and went for that. when he came back, no one was on the field. india was all out....
now, which team is better now, eng or india? we are in the test level now, and does not matter how bad our record is and how good other's record is, we CAN CLOSE the difference. but to do that, first thing we need is belief. if we keep fighting, we'll win for sure. doesnot matter how long it takes. but if we don't try, we'll never do it.
