Yes, I have been one of the unfortunate, 120000 to have contracted the Ransomware

IGNORE THIS WARNING AT YOUR OWN RISK. YOU KNOW **** IS SERIOUS WHEN MICROSOFT DECIDES TO UPDATE A DEAD OS, EVEN WINDOWS XP has gotten a update due to the ransomware that has been reported around the globe

If you have caught the virus, then it is probably too late, you either pay and hope the hacker is in a good mood to decrypt your files, or you format and lose everything The final option would be to format then use a data recovery service to get your files back.

As I have caught the ransomware, it is important that you guys install the latest Update for your respective Operating Systems, or get a sufficient Anti Virus or Malware Detecting Software on your PC.

On Friday, a quickly spreading, nasty piece of malware crossed mountains and oceans to infect more than 70,000 machines around the world in its first few hours. Among those infected were more than a dozen hospitals in England, a telecom in Spain, FedEx's offices in the United Kingdom, and apparently, the Russian Interior Ministry. Within half a day, there were instances detected on six continents.

The ransom is $300 and you've got 3 days to pay before it doubles to $600. If you don't pay within a week then the ransomware threatens to delete the files altogether. Note the social engineering aspect here too: a sense of urgency is created to prompt people into action. A sense of hope is granted by virtue of the ability to decrypt a sample selection of the files.

1. Don`t open any unecessary emails
2.Don`t download any plugins from unknown sites
3.Get updated

?

i think he copy pasted that post. he didn't really get infected. I don't believe 80% of the stuff he writes in this site... including him buying his crappy used BMW. He comes out to be like a hands me down type of guy. to me.

XP was released in 2001. Why do you still use it in 2017?

Some organizations use self developed software for their day to day work. like in hospitals self developed software is used in X-Ray. these softwares need XP as if you want to update windows you would need to update the software to operate with the new windows. Developing software is costly and a low priority for the organizations which are not financial or IT organizations..thus they are still stuck with xp
