This year the Ramadan will start from 27th/28th of May depending on our locations. However, one fact is that this time the length of the days will be longer and hotter. Alhamdulillah we also gonna have longer time to move more closer to The Most Merciful.

Some reminders..

Please let us all pray for each other so that we can all contribute to the best for our country.

Ya Allah, please allow me to fast in such a way that you would be pleased. Ya Allah, allow me to pray in such a manner that you will accept my prayers and dua. Oh the Lord of the Worlds, increase for me my knowledge and wisdom so I know better how to attain righteousness, like of those whom you have favoured and blessed in this world and the hereafter. Oh the King of all kings, please bless me and my family and keep us on a straight path, overlook our bad deeds, and grant us forgiveness. Ya Allah do not embarrass the muslim nation, forgive us! Shower us your mercy! And allow us to better understand your holy book the Quran in this month of Ramadhan. Brothers do make dua for me! And everyone in the world! May Allah grant peace to our world.

I hope none of the players fast. You cannot perform at the highest level without food and water.

Actually on the contrary fasting (say water fasting) can get you in a state of ketosis (after 16 hours) and give your unsurpassed and superior energy.

Note: this is non-religious fasting and more geared towards entering ketogenic state.

Then again once Egypt soccer team used to fast during World Cup.

It's.
All.
Mental.

Do check this out:

How he was able to deadlift 10 reps of 500 pounds and 1 rep of 585 pounds after a 7 day fast [6:30]

You can but you need mental toughness...I bet Mushfiq and Shakib would be able to from our team.

Post pics of the food coz that's what Ramadan is all about. The purpose of the month is to abstain from food to create empathy and relate with the less fortunate. Not celebrate street food coz they are amazing!

The other day I was watching a news report in Al Jazeera where a women was scavenging through garbage to find some food in Venezuela . This is a oil rich country that is now struggling severely because of stupid policies from its leaders.

I hope people do their research when paying their Zakat. You can make a huge difference to the life of those in serious need. Have a blessed Ramadan.

Quran Verse about Ramadan: Oh you who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that you may learn piety and righteousness" (Q 2:183); "Ramadan is the (month) in which the Quran was sent down, as a guide to mankind and a clear guidance and judgment (so that mankind will distinguish from right and wrong).." (Q 2:183), and a good Hadith: Narrated Abu Huraira(r.a): The Messenger of Allah (saw) said:"... whoever fasts during Ramadan out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah's rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven." (Imam Bukhari).

^another example of focusing on outwardly expressions in others rather than oneself. if they are not voluntarily practicing hijabs, then why force them to do it for this month?

you seem so concerned about spirit of Ramadan in others' dress and appearances that you ended up cursing in this holy month (saying "wtf").

What good is the fasting if it doesn't change a person to betterment?

That would be just starving oneself and lots of suffering without any reward.

I also thought this was a bit rich from the brother too.

But anyways, I think what a person's real intentions is, Allah surely knows it and lets leave the judging to Him. Why do we always concern ourselves of others faults when what we should be doing especially during Ramadan is correcting our own faults?

Lets be less negative and more positive in Ramadan. :D

I think we should be less concerned about what others are practicing. The more time we give to them the less time we have for our own good deeds.

Yes I can still remember last year also in most of the TV channels female news presenters had their head covers ON. But I am not sure if wearing Hijab is only meant to be for the month of Ramadan. Why they take it off after Ramadan. I think it was a show off, because that didn`t stop most of them from showing music/dancing and other stuffs during Ramadan so what difference does this have over only wearing veil.

I think the sculpture issue and everything related to that had an influence over this head cover OFF suddenly for all the private channels this year. The more extremists try to protect Islam in their own way, I guess it backfires. Ofcourse things which are really inappropriate needs to be handled with cool and smart brains.

However, I am not concerned atleast the TV channels now open to what they are showing. Infact it is better in one way, they are not Munafiq now, I guess somewhere it is said that Munafiq(who shows one thing but has other intention) are worse than non believers and also by the way the more you get the opportunity to lower your gaze from the temptation the more reward from the Most Merciful..:big_hug:

Wow, can't believe we are already in to the last 10 nights of Ramadan. May Allah Give us Taufiq to Worship HIM according to HIS Quran and Sunnah, and May Allah Accept from All of us Muslims. --Allahumma Ameen.

Some reminders for me and anyone interested for the last 10 nights of Ramadan:

Allah says in the Qur’an: The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. Peace it is until the emergence of dawn. [Qur’an: 97:3-5]

The Blessed Laylatul Qadr can be found in any of the last 10 nights of Ramadan, which are the most Blessed Nights of the year. As such, we should increase our Worship and Devotion during this period.

Aisha (R) reported: With the start of the last ten days of Ramadan, the Prophet (saw) used to tighten his waist belt (i.e. work harder) and used to pray the whole night, and used to keep his family awake for the prayers.

Abu Hurayrah (R) relates that the Prophet  said: [B]“Whoever stands (in the voluntary night prayer of) Ramadan out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven. And whoever spends the night of Lailat Al-Qadr in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” [Sunan an-Nasa’i]

Some Points to Consider in the Worship Plan:

Best dua of the last 10 nights:

اَللَّهُمَّ اِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ ، تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

Aisha  reported: I asked: “O Messenger of Allah! If I realize Lailat-ul-Qadr (Night of Decree), what should I supplicate in it?” He  replied, “You should supplicate: Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun, tuhibbul-‘afwa, fa’fu ‘anni (O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness; so forgive me).” [At-Tirmidhi].

Remain in I’tikaf:

The best way of catching the blessed night is to remain in I’tikaf, which both men and women can do. If it is not possible for one to remain in I’tikaf for the whole of the 10 days and nights, then one should try to remain in I’tikaf for as many days and nights possible. It is also possible to make intention of Nawafil I’tikaf each and every time one enters the masjid to gain rewards for the time spent in the masjid.

Worship all the 10 nights:

Try to worship the whole of the 10 nights or as many days you can manage as that is the best way to catch the unimaginable and incomprehensible rewards of  Laylatul Qadr. Each and every good deed from Maghrib until Fajr on Laylatul Qadr is rewarded a minimum of at least 83 years’ of worship. Subhan Allah, that is longer than most of us will live!

Give charity:

Any good act such as charity during Laylatul Qadr is rewarded like you have done it for over 83 years.

More ideas are here (http://www.hadithoftheday.com/laylatul-qadr-worship-plan-to-maximise-the-last-10-nights-of-ramadan/).

----
May Allah Forgive my short-comings, and Allah Knows Best.
