So are we into women's cricket or are we not into women's cricket?

Turned on TV this morning and watched about 15-20 minutes of play between India and hosts, England.

The Indians have over a 100 runs without losing a wicket. These young ladies know how to hit a cricket ball, some deft touches, sweet timing, and positive running between the wiclets... at no time were they bogged down...they looked for singles.

England's bowling looked weak.

The game is still going on....along with another today, NZvSL.

Windies women were bowled out for 207.

The Australian women are confident of chasing anything...saying that they have a 'fantastic batting lineup'

I know you are :) some great memories of following particular matches with you. That was great!

Now the Aussies are making this chase look easy.

The target is 205.

9/0 after two overs.

Mooney and Bolton are the opening batters.

Both of them look like accomplished players on the discipline...technically and such

Bolton plays like David Warner....Fast hands and lots of power..

England women are on track to get 300+

aklemalp
June 27, 2017, 07:14 AM
Teams usually double after the 30 over mark...

England are 187/2

So at least 350?

It doesn't happen in women's matches because of lack of power

^^ I just Heather Knight smacked a six...she does have power. ..

And they are on track for something like 340

212/2 in the 34th over

After 47 overs, England are 342/5

Seen some really powerful shots being played. ...the sixes have easily cleared the boundary.

It's gonna be a huge task for pakistan to chase this target down.

Unless they have someone who goes berserk at the start...and put them in a commanding position like 150/0 in 17 overs

Yeah, after I saw the way they were hitting it, I had a feeling that it was gonna be a big total.

Now they got Pakistan 28/2 in the 10th over.

Ayesha is not letting the English bowlers dictate terms.

So far, she's worked her way to 40 (44) out of a total score of 64/2

3 Centuries today, and the best one came from the losing side...SL's Attapathhu with 178* in score of 250-odd

One of the best innings in women's cricket.

Saw the first part of that Mithali Raj inning today. She was so comfortable attacking the Kiwi bowlers with anything that was loose.

A class player she is.

It's sad this thread hasn't received much attention. This Women's World Cup has been a revelation, and will be a stepping stone to the future of women's Cricket. Women's Cricket as a whole has risen sharply in the last 10 years especially with the inclusion with Bangladesh. I hope BCB gives equal importance to women's Cricket as they do with the gents. In Women's Cricket, the big teams are unarguably Australia and England, and there is a sizeable gap between them and the rest. I like their ranking system where all formats are combined. I don't know why, but women's Cricket sort of reminds me of women's Tennis, and if its not at that level yet then it will be in the future for sure. I remember the Netherlands have had a good women's Cricket team before, but they seem to have disappeared which is strange enough.

What a game! Really wish I could've watched this.

Congratulations England women! Was rooting for India, then realized how awful their fans would be with the win, and then switched my allegiance to Eng. Congrats to both team, that was one of the most exciting finishes in cricket.
