Oh my dear brother Roy, the first time I hear this song in the movie, I jumped up and start dancing, it's the kind of music I grew up listening to in Guyana. It's part of our culture, Trinidad being close to Guyana, also had an influence.

Sundar Popo and Anand Yankarran are geniuses of the genre.

Unrelated, but only a few weeks ago I stumbled upon this music while I was working out a problem...It was part of an hour-long video on Youtube with inspirational soundtracks: The Last Samurai, Inception, Braveheart, The Gladiator, Interstellar, The Dark Knight Rises...

But somehow, this one touched my soul:

Good one, I remember in the 90s when this used to come on the TV in the form of Now That's What I Call Music, and we had to censor the 'sexy' part whilst singing it because it was taboo, and if we did not censor our parents' would discipline by their tried and tested method/s :D:

I listen to Adele, Coldplay, Sia, Alanis Morisette, Imagine Dragons,Katy Perry and even Shakira, they are as mainstream as they come I guess, rest I absolutely loathe though. We live in a dark age as far as music is concerned where true rock or metal isn't quite considered mainstream any more. I wish I was born in the 70's or 80's even Bollywood used to produce quality music back then.
