Rahman, Mahmud, Rana these are not ODI worthy enough anymore:

Mahmud should retire after this series for good.

Rahman and Rana: should only be in our test squad.

Guys any thought

All those three that you mention had a great ODI series. Can't ask for any more.

You could say that, but ODI is all about playing under pressure. These three doesn't have the quality. I mean they are not capable of playing big shot; ODI is all about playing big shot. You could see that from their performance today!

man, mushfiq and rana are great ODI players for us...its not their fault that they were put in to get 4s and 6s in teh last 5 overs...that should have been to left to rafique and company. in fact mushfiq and rana should open. who cares if they dont get a single boundary, at least they will stay at teh crease and score at 3 or 4 an over.

It was just utter frustration of me. I know both Rahman and Rana are great players, but wasting last 5 over like that is just pissed me off. They should know that in a situation like that they have take big shot, but what they did is totally foolish act. They were just simply tacking single one after another. I donít know what to say anymore? I just want to forget about this match.:o

the only think that really disappointed me about rana (i guess u guys already know, i've become a fan of him) is dropping catch. the dropped an easy follow thru catch of D smith and he scored 62* which changed the game scenerio and he did the same easy catch drop today. i did not see those were easy, but the comms said so. other than that he is a good player for BOTH test and ODI. and mushfique, is the only real allrounder. we can't afford to drop any of these two. mahmud going home no doubt. he did good bowling in first two matches, but his bowling is just not for test. enamul javed omar and alamgir kabir coming in. fine. javed opens, enamul in only if the pitch is spin friendly but i'd not include alamgir in the test squad. he can stay at home actually, like raj a waste of plane fair.

About batting in the last 5 overs - I watched them very closely, with great concentration - Mushfique and Rana batted pretty well, if they had not gone for those singles, then we would have scored 100/9 or getting all out for 100, we would not have scored those extra 18 runs if it was not for Mushfique/Rana.

In addition, all 3 of them - Sujon, Mushfique and Rana tried their best to increase the run-rate, but they just couldn't.

If you want a better batting in the last 5 overs that you've seen yesterday, then you must make better pitches - that's the only solution to finding better players than them.

I am more disappointed in their fielding, considering their age, rather than their bowling or batting.

But I suppose every new and emerging player has his weakness(es), that's the cost that we have to pay for including all these new and emerging players into the side on every now and then.

its no use putting blames on the 'game-balancing' Allrounders for the troubles that is actually caused by another part of our batting order, more specificly, the top order.
the fast rate of scoring of ODI that you are mentioning is actually to be done by that part of our batting order :

Hannan, Bashar, Rajin, Ash, Kapali and every other top-ord.

every team consists of three parts in batting:
1.fast and high scorers
2.average scorers
3. low scorers(namely the bowlers)

the one's you r picking for taking out of the game are actually doing their job almost perfectly!!(except:Sujon-his recent average score is probably around 2.5 and every time the game gets tensed.. he starts giving away 12 runs per over on an average whn he is bowling)

yo guys dont pick on the bowlers its the batsmen who have let the team down again. defending a target of 119 although a competitive total it was always in the reach of the west indies, remember they did score 125 in 25 overs in previous.

at least the batsmen improved from 101 to 118 in 25 overs. well done Bashar.

Bangla is now competitive and we should applaud that fact.:fanflag:

Musfiq-Rana-Khaled are good oneday player given the standard of BD cricket. They are first one-day player then test cericketer. They (two of them currently) play test cricket because they are better than the specialists we have. Players like Musfiq-Rana can always be found in any one-day team and quality of these kind of players associated with the team!! To me best thing we need is a hard hitter batsman (no Rafique please).. we need really a batsman who can hit hard. Hope we will get from the players of next generation :-/
