View Full Version : Tamim for Test & T20 captain

Tamim’s aggressive captaincy knocked over England in under one session of test cricket in mushy’s absence.

I don’t need any more proof than that.

*Consistent long time senior performer
*well respected, well liked by team
* Handles media well and speaks English confidently
*good tactical cricket brain

What else could you even want from a captain?

MAKE HIM SKIPPER NEXT SERIES!

The second best captain for BD after Mashrafe is Mushfiqur Rahim.

He is no genius but he is better than Shakib and Tamim.

you can captain the team better than mushfik.

Tamim is not captain material. He loses his temper way to often as shown in BPL when he was captain. He is no kohli. I would go for someone else but unfortunately nither we have any young stable players nor our seniority complex would let any player from the young crop becoming the captain

enough of those so called best players in the worlds, they have proven time after time that they don't know how to execute with stable mind on a demanding situation, most of the time they have pied on their trousers and ran away from the situations, fresh memory is yesterday game, the way mr.tamim batted i felt he wanted as much possible out of the situation. So, sorry to say for t20 we should go with new bunches, if we are losing most of the game with those so called world class players then better to lose with inexperienced ones which will at least give exposers to upcoming ones. These tamim, mushy, riyadh they should go from t20.

These players with that many years of experineces yet don't know that you not necessarily need to hit over boundaries all the time or look for due to our physical build but yet still you can push the ball throw the ground for fours, doubles, singles. And all those players already played 12 years. Shame for our cricket.

This is just saying that you dont see matches live rather just look at the scores. any BD fan who watches the matches live will not judge Mushfik on captaincy based on stats.

This is true. I don't watch matches.

But even though stats can be interpreted in many different ways, stats often do not lie for some reasons.

trust me in case of mushy's captaincy it lies very much

for example the win vs England in test is credited under musfik..see the op..it was all tamim in the last hour..mushfik's dumb captaincy was losing that game

if you can please see our matches in 2014..in 2014 we lost at least 10 matches from winning position because of mushfik's dumb captaincy..he is the worst captain in BD history

The problem is in our education system we are never taught critical thinking.

Our players show why they are unable of doing basic analysis.

When you start talking about stats, might also want to talk about each individual performers under all of their captaincy. Under Shakib, not a lot of players were performing, not to mention we had the likes of Junaid Siddique, Rokibul Hasan and co still playing in those days. Tamim was still raw, list goes on. Under Mushfiq, The big 3 where pretty much consistent with their performance. You got introduced to new talent, that was better (for the first couple of games/series atleast :-|) and performed way better than predecessor.

Majority of the matches were won by Players and not the captain (mainy Shakib/Tamim/Mustafiz/Miraj and in some case Mushfiq and Riad). Numbers don't lie, but when you don't see the numbers in a grand context, it definitely does, atleast in this case. If you take into consideration of all that I spoke off, the players stats, who was averaging what, etc, you'll realize Mushfiq's captaincy made no difference in the matches we won.

I absolutely disagree. I came from our education system. only my masters degree is from outside BD. Many members here came from Bangladesh's education system.

In the match threads we scream for basic common sense decisions but no they do not come. its not about education system its about the mentality and the ability to do basic analysis.

you dont need education to do life analysis. many people with no education do it way better than PHD holders

Since we are talking about education, Mushfik has a masters degree, I dont think mash went beyond HSC. the thought process of these two shows education is not in effect here

I have a decent idea of what the education system has produced, exceptional students will obviously do good overseas.

Can I ask if you don't mind why you left Australia after you completed your Masters. You could of gotten the passport and landed a handsome 100-150K job here as an engineer at the big telcos.

if you have a decent Idea then you should stop talking about that. judging the country's education system based on non educated cricketers is laughable. saying this the current state of our education is very bad under this government's education minister. Very few from this crop will do anything

I did not want to be like everyone else. I dont want Australian passport to represent me. I just went there to do my masters and I did it very well, got into Swinburnes golden key honor society which is given to the top 15% student every batch. I proved to myself that I can do well in a bigger student base and I got back home.

If you dont have any interest in research there is no point doing PhD. its not like you need PhD for you career. PhD is a totally different line in career choice.

I thought about PhD after my masters. but at the moment dont have any plan. I am working in the cyber security field and if someday my line of work needs me to pursue PhD, I'll do it. this time will try to do the PhD in Canada, already saw Australia

Around what GPA do you require to get invited into the GK program, it sounds like it is something special. top 15% that is a monumental feat. Is it true some of the top tier jobs require at least a masters or a PhD. How life consuming is a PhD, if one were to pursue it.

GK dont have a GPA criteria, you need to be one of the top 15% students in your batch. I had a CGPA of 3.83

you dont need PhD for any job in the world other than research related jobs(for example teachers).

I did not look for working jobs in Australia so I cant say anything about that. In BD you dont need masters to get jobs. but you do need masters to get ahead in your job. After a certain time if you dont have masters its really hard to get promotion here.

PhD is something if you want to do that you have to commit your life to that. before taking decision on doing PhD you need to ask your self about your future goals. 95 out of 100 goals wont need you to do a PhD.

anyway lets not derail this thread anymore. if you want to talk you can open a thread in FC or PM me

If you ever decide to do PhD in Canada, choose your professor wisely. I lost of respect for professors and their post-grad students who only care to publish papers while I worked as a Research Associate during my undergrad senior year.
