I want to see a new pace attack in the test series that excludes Rubel. Take a pace all-rounder in Aariful (4th highest wicket taker in BCL) or Saifuddin as well.

I haven't seen Ariful bowl. He did well recently with the ball. If he can bowl some decent overs then he can be an option at the lower order in the limited overs cricket.

Exciting series to look forward to. Highly anticipated.

So Fizz is set to miss the Windies tests and possibly the entire tour due to injury. Apparently he still hasnt recovered.

First, he gets injured during a game, but he still ends up bowling his quota with his injury. He returns and confirms its not a serious injury and plays the practice game. But the night before his India flight, he gets ruled out. Now, 2 weeks later, he is yet to start running and looking at another month or so to recover........... Shabash Fizz, Shabash BCB!

Wonder if we'll see Shanto making a return to the side. But that would mean he's gonna get the Hetmyer treatment

Ok, so I am not saying WI does not have a good team or a good board to run their team, but should Bd give up playing int. cricket if they don't get a series win?

I know expectations are non existent after the Afg whitewash, but I mean I actually will not accept an odd win here and there. I want nothing less than a series win. But beggars can't be choosers I guess.

This series is over before it started with dumb and dumber selection. Wonder if the new coach had any say on selection....

BCB needs to wake up, and give Walsh and the selection committee a permanent rest. This idiot Nannu has no clue of whatever he is doing

I am sure the new coach had no say as he barely had any interaction with the players. This is mostly Walsh and the selection committee.

Bangladesh won’t win any Test game. Might win 1 OdI perhaps.

Players have just come back after Eid and will suffer from holiday mood and after eating all that oily food won’t help either during training . His Royal Highness Shakib still on holiday. Awful players like Shafiul back in the team.

Who is this " Khaled Ahmed"?

His figure looks impressive...

Khaled Ahmed # 8.4 over - 4 maidens - 22 runs - 2 wickets - 2.62 (economy rate)

He has not conceded a single 4 or 6 so far.

Squad: Shamarh Brooks (capt), John Campbell, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Jahmar Hamilton, Shimron Hetmyer (wk), Alzarri Joseph, Keon Harding, Shayne Moseley, Gudakesh Motie, Romario Shepherd, Vishaul Singh, Odean Smith

Bowling wise:
Odean Smith is green, so too are Romario Shepherd (a guyanese from my county), Gudakesh Motie is a dodgy SLA from my old club quite experienced I should say, we all know about Alzarri

Batting wise:
This is the strength, Shimron, Vishaul, Jamar, Shamarh, Tajenarine.

Batting looks stronger than bowling. I don't know the other guys that well

Tag is shiv's son, taken him a long time to get any decent results but think he's on the up now...brooks has been doing ok but overall hasn't done anything overly special and he's close to 30. Heard a lot about keon Harding as a prospect over the years but he's disappointed really, heard he's pretty fast though. Odean smith is being pushed due to his speed. Shepherd is an allrounder, thought Hamilton was a keeper, Moseley has been alright in his career so far so interesting to see him.

Paul is a pace bowling all rounder that did well in u19s and domestic cricket, he’s still very young, interesting prospect.

Rovman to me is a bit like pollard, strength lies in his batting, can bowl a bit.

Shimron is meant to be the next big batsman for WI (along with shai hope), he’s an aggressive batsman.

All have talent, don’t think any are world class yet, possibly keemo Paul although when I saw him I wasn’t as impressed as I expected to be (based on his stats).

Good games for Alzarri and Shimron. Two youngsters.

So from the squad from the series against SL, I just want to replace Devon Smith with Brookes, and Cummins with Alzarri. I know that Brookes is not an opener, but he can be picked as a filler to strengthen the batting.

I do hope we see those lively pitches that we saw in the SL series

I don't like Mehedi in white ball cricket

Shakib doesn't have the hitting ability down the order and recently we've struggled to rotate between 10-35 overs, I reckon he'll do well there and it keeps rahim and ullah ready to come, with Shakib at 3 it extends batting line up, down the order he slogs and takes no responsibility, push him up to 3 for this series and see what he does I reckon, he's good against pace, can rotate, if he plays well we'll be well set up and if he didn't he won't waste many balls and we've got 2 World class batsmen to come

Well a spinner, doesn't necessarily have to be Miraz, tbh he's been very disappointing.

Don't get me wrong I think shakib has the skills to do the things you mentioned, but I don't think he has the attitude. Rahim and mullah also have those attributes but they need more than that, they need to have the correct innings building attitude to do those things consistently.

I agree shakib isn't the best down the order, he seems like he'd be ok, if you watch one of his longer innings where he scores some runs you think, yeah this guy scores fast, can rotate well etc so he'd be good down the order but his all guns blazing attitude has got him out cheaply far too often for my liking, hence why he seems to do better batting at 4/5 coming to he crease when there are still a decent chunk of overs still to play. But it's getting him into the right mindset consistently, same with the others tbh, no one seems to want that responsibility.

He was a bad coach who simply reaped the reward of Siddon's hard work. Siddon's developed Shak, Tamim, Mushy, and Mahmudullah, and in Mash we got an inspiring captain.

Hathuru got the credit. Name a new player who developed under Hathuru.

Absolutely unacceptable that 3 of the 4 senior batsmen/allrounders got ducks and the 4th only got 4 runs I.e. 4 senior bats = 4 runs in that innings. I know they’ve held up the team a lot but all of them doing his badly in the same innings, d not one then 2 of them should’ve taken responsibility and scored something. Not excusing the youngsters, horrible as well but at least they can cry inexperience, seniors can’t.

I still remember how everyone was against haturi and wanted to get rid of him as if he was the reason behind all of our shortcomings. They thought that the success we got under him was only due to our brainless mediocre players and conveniently forgot the hard work haturi put behind our morons to make them somewhat competitive.

We deserve this humiliation. We never gave any value to those who actually played some of the most important roles behind our improvement. It's not surprising that we kicked out a coach of Siddons caliber. No wonder respectable coaches like streak and haturi don't wanna work with our egotistic bunch.

Haturi criticised Shakib for his shambolic role in SA series and all the usual fanatics were ready to hang him as if Shakib is above all criticism. It's not surprising that we kicked out all the good coaches but still persisting with lazy and mediocre Walsh. This team and its deluded supporters, team management and the board deserve this humiliation.

May be... but on the other hand You hathuru haters is also getting obnixious.

Give no credit to haturu for the result under him? Fine. Then how you explain the results before he came and after he left?

At the end of the day, the win-loss dictate a head coaches success of his career... where the team was before he came, where the team was during his time and where the was after he left. And to me, its pretty clear whether he was a success or failure during that time.

Siddon may be good batting coach, but he was a big time failure as a head coach. That's why he never got any chances as head coach after he left.

btw the way haturu left, was explained later.... the senior players betrayed him and the team (to get rid of him). He was not a dumb, nor he was without any option... so he made the smart coach to jump the sinking ship and let the senior players self destruct.

Fazal's post reminded me of similar thing that happened at my last place.
So, I was a newbie with two seniors in my team of 3. The seniors were well lazy and did jack all day - they were coming 30mins to 1 hour late, having fag breaks, long mobile phone convos with their wives/gf's , 2 hour lunches, etc.
I ended up doing all the work and was stressed with the volume. I found myself working at work and then at home any my wife started complaining. I endured this bs for 2 years and then complained to my manager. My manager told them that I had complained about them and they started making my life very difficult. They stopped talking to me, would monitor every word I said to anyone, asked people from other team to be snitches, etc. I endured this for 5 months before i thought to myself - what am I doing here.... these people don't deserve me. They can go fk themselves and thus I left.
Senior syndicates are never a good thing.

Prescription to success in longer version:

Improve domestic cricket.

How?

Just arrange more matches with quality opponents
More you play more you learn theory will not apply anymore then Tushar would make triple hundreds every innings, Mominul would have surpassed Bradman

you need quality opponents to learn batting on quality sporty pitches

start using the machines not reluctantly but relentlessly

For bowling, is a different story, you do not have strong well built pacers (same as India), what you need is technical improvement, swing, lateral movement, consistent line - the only way to improve is just keep bowling regularly relentlessly, and master on different wickets - so you need diverse wickets

Create at least diverse net wickets, may be use the same place and prepare it for different flavor after you master bowling in one type.

What about spinners - we need wrist spinners, finger spinners who can turn it at will

Select 70-80 core young players and start training them, better take break from international test playing and start doing homework for next 2 years.

- Quality pitches
- Quality opponents
- Heavy domestic sessions
- Stick to a core group with diverse talents
- Do not surrender or let anyone practice any nepotism/corruption/politics

Easy to prescribe, hard to implement.

But, really you guys do not know these? Every professional in every sector follow those basics. Stop complaining and start asking questions yourself - what would I have done if this team was like my children, my family. Hope all eyes open up.

We need to make drastic changes. All the seniors have hit their limit and are now on a downward Habibullah curve. They will not improve. Just a few corrections.

Quarterfinal or equivalent ie Super 8s we've got 3 of them (2007 WC, 2007 WT20, and 2015 WC) + 1 semifinal appeareance (2017 CT). Could have been 5 because had West Indies beaten England in 2011, we'd have been in the QF that year as well.

The first odi in 3 days. Guyana. The pitch is traditionally spin-friendly. Expect Eggyman to dominate.

The Guyanese pitch is normally known to be very batsman friendly, so expect some big scores from both teams.

I've just read it. My eyes got fixed on when he said, "টেস্ট ভালো করতে নতুন দল তৈরি করা ছাড়া আপাতত উপায় দেখছেন না বোর্ড সভাপতি, ‘এখানে মানসিকতা না, টেস্টের জন্য আমাদের নতুন দল করতে হবে। চার বছর আগে থেকে বলে আসছি, টেস্টে একটি আলাদা সেটআপ দরকার। টি-টোয়েন্টিতেও।"

So, he has been saying this for last 4 years and nothing happened. He is calling himself useless or what...

Joseph gets demerit point for send-off

Alzarri Joseph has earned ICC sanctions for his send-off to Anamul Haque during the second ODI in Guyana. The fast bowler has received an official reprimand and one demerit point after match referee Chris Broad found him guilty of a Level 1 breach of the ICC code of conduct.

Joseph was found to have violated article 2.1.7 of the code, which relates to "using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batsman upon his/her dismissal during an international match".

ICC is a joke of a sport governing body! A bunch of ignorant fools! I blame BCB all the time...why is BCB like this? Because the problem is in the source or mayebe at the top of the tree - ICC.
These ICC fools should be doing something else that is more important than picking on nothing issue like this. Agree with Roman very much!
