Do you think he can do a Imran Khan?

I would really like to see this guy lead our country.

There was recent reports that suggested Mashrafes interest in politics.

Shakib/Tamim/Mushy/Mahmudullah/Mashrafe can form a political party led by Mash.

Slowly build up, learn. It took Imran Khan 22 years to become PM.

By God, I was thinking in the same line yesternight. If Imran Khan can, why can't Mashrafe? I mean he must use his name recognition and clean image to become the future leader of BD. The young generation is tired of the same old begums.

There seems to be a euphoria about IK's win among many people. I don't know or care that much about Pak politics. But what I understand is that military have a huge influence on their elected leaders and elections. And of course we know how Pak military is.

Is IK as clean as we are making him out to be? or is he just another Army puppet with a good image?

Finally, there is no room for 3rd party in BD yet. AL is stronger than ever and if Mash joins AL then he will just have to adhere to the status quo. And there is no way he will join BNP as it is a sinking ship and he will be ostracized.

Our political/civic landscape is vastly different than Pakistan. There is no comparison. Pak korse deikha amader o korte hobe, eita hocche ji hujur ji hujur mentality.

i think it was just to give an example that an outsider can conquer. Donald trump is also a good example. No one is suggesting to follow anyone just an example that it is possible for an outsider to come and conquer not completely beyond the realm of possibility.

Yes. If the Bangladeshi people are stupid enough to vote for two useless ladies standing on the success of their dead male relatives, then surely Mashrafe the cricketer has a chance. And if he can't, then his daughter will get it done (only when he passes away, obviously)

Sheikh Hasina is not an useless lady. She has all the qualities of a leader. Don't talk nonsense. The lineage helped her but she has sustained the success in her own right. Otherwise someone else would have taken over long ago.

anyways wrong forum wrong topic and wrong ppl to discuss with ..

Only if Bangladesh wins the World Cup under Mashrafee's captaincy there is a high chance:D

No chance in Bangladesh as of this moment, In Pak you will notice three different parties have come from last three elections, things are changing there and other parties have a shot now. This is impossible in the current era of Bangladesh, brace yourselves for a hundred year rule from one party.

I think Hasina is put into a better setting she will outshine many great leaders.

This is a girl that witnessed the murder of her family and instead of breaking down mentally grew up to run a country and made significant progress over past 2 decades... and she is useless?? hhaha useful jokers on internet forum.

I tell my girl niece to look for girl leaders around the world to look for inspiration .. hillary is an obvious choice but i tell them to also look up hasina.

I am not a Hasina (or AL) fan for various reasons but you do have to admire her for her resilience.

She has effectively crippled BNP and made BD almost a one party system. But the country isn't doing that bad though.

But AL will face a existential crisis after her death. Her son is quite useless and can't lead the party or the country.

Imran is a puppet of Pak Army. This election was rigged just to make him the PM.

And Imran is no saint. This guy is known for his love towards Jamat and the war criminals. He even greeted us with namaste when he came to Bangladesh for the first time after independence. And that was not out of ignorance but out of anger and disrespect..

Mash on the other hand, is a candid ingenuous man. Dont want him to associate with bunch of thieves, thugs and criminals . So it would be better for him if he stays away from politics and live his life with a clean image. Sohel Taj could not survive in politics, Mash wont either

And is that a good thing? Its like saying Saddam was a dictator but Iraq was doing so well under him or Libya under Gaddafi. One party rule can never be good for any country I think. And the country is doing good mostly because of foreign remittance and other privatized business.

Yes, Hasina is a strong lady and she is well respected amongst all in BAL. And She is lot better than the other witch. But still dont like one party ruling.

its never a good thing. but it has worked our for the short term.

"ja churi korar kore felse goto koyek bochore. election korleo abar pass korbe. tai churi korar incentive ta ektu kom" that's the mentality I get.

she will eventually have to concede power and will bring her son before she dies. because if she doesn't then AL senior leaders won't even let him back in the country.

not sure is tarek rahman can come back and resurrect BNP.

"I think Hasina is put into a better setting she will outshine many great leaders.":facepalm: This is just plain moronic.

your endorsement is enough to get people in this forum to never vote for her. Yea, what happened to her is tragic. But that doesn't justify the massive corruption and using BD as her personal coffers. AL is the better option for the country, but that doesnt make Hasina a great leader.

FYI, Bangladesh's progress has more to do with macroeconomic trends and having an independent central bank. If Hasina deserves any credit, its that she has managed to stay the f*ck out of the way.

BNP has only themselves to blame for ruining their image, they could have still been a threat to AL just like in the 90s but the bad publicity over corruption and siding with some anti liberation parties has destroyed them, now people don't even care if AL wins in every election and if the election is fair since there are no better alternatives.

And people vote for the party Awami League, not only for Sheikh Hasina. They have some loyal hardcore followers who will still vote for AL. Even after she is gone her son will dominate the elections with no rivals

yup. can't disagree. the whole rajakar tribunal and BNP failing to distance themselves was a fatal blow. its ironic though how there are some rajakars in the current coalition and within Hasina's extended family (her daughter's in law family).

going back on topic, I don't think Mash has an opening. There is no room for 3rd party. And if he joins AL, his clean image will be ruined. He will lose the mass appeal that he has now. There is still a big contingent on ex-BNP or strong AL critics who will never back him.

It wont happen because it doesnt go with Mash's personality.
To be a successful politician in BD you have to be selfish, greedy, kinda dishonest.

He's a warrior. A better one than Imran perhaps. I don't think he will go for the PM job. He's too humble. I hope he works closely with the BD cricket team after his retirement.

Our whole system is corrupted and filthy, greedy people are everywhere. Only one Mash cannot change anything. This corrupt system will definitely change Mash. Look at Saber Chou, Sohel Taj. They are the victims of this system. However, we need someone who will at least begin some sort of rebellion against this system and Mash can be a good choice.
