I already called it - Rafique is Bangladesh's answer to Lara. :)

By the way, this was his first century in any kind of competitive cricket, maybe it's his maiden century in any (parar, rastar included) cricket at all.

Watch out for the celebration video tomorrow. I have this historic moment recorded.

thank you all for the accolades:)

rafique played his finest innings for sure - looked more at ease than ashraful and both did exrtremely well to keep BD going after the mini collapse yesterday.

Only 5 batsmen in double figures but a fantastic team effort so far! I say come out tomorrow and smash around for a few balls, declare or get out.

Just two days back, Bangladeshi cricket fans, repeatedly let down by their batsmen, were a demoralized bunch. This is excellent cricket from both Rafique and Bashar. Both centuries were full of confidence and delightful strokeplay. If Rafique can now strike with the ball, he will forever claim a spot in the hearts of Bangladeshi cricket fans.

When Rafique and Bashar show up for work, Bangladesh has a chance.

I just love this guy Rafiq, he probably represents the true Bangladesh........ not much of textbook staff but lot of spirit ...... may have hit far too many balls in the air but the end result is he got the hundred. Spirit will win against textbook all the time. GO RAFIQ:fanflag:

And we shouldn't forget to thank Tareq Aziz, for he survived 34 balls and provided a solid support to let Rafique hit his ton.

Damn! I can't belief my eye! This is awesome display by rafiq. I missed his century celebration due to some frickin work! Nevertheless, he is the man who could lead us to our maiden test victory! I know that because is simply damn good with his spin as well.

Let us hope scintillating bowling from Rafique to lead Bangladesh to the maiden test win by an innings.

It may not be realized, but nothing impossible with the spirited Bangladesh team....

As soon as he goes on to the middle tomorrow, Rafique will become the only Bangladeshi batsman to continiously bat for three consecutive days.

Our top orders have a lot to learn from him. Congratulation to you Rafique.

Rafique was the last person I ever thought would get a century in this test. What can I say! This is amazing stuff from our power house.

The ARM BALL will inshallah nuke WI.:karate:

All these days, the Bangladesh line up had a tradition - the failure of the top order would result in some desperate fights from the lower order to post a respectable total for the team. However, the success of the top and middle order, on the other hand, would lead to a collapse in the late order. It seemed as if we would never get a perfect inning out of these players.
However, the first two days of the first Test between Bangladesh and the West Indies have changed the whole picture. Most of the Bangladeshi players, still very young, had grown up adoring the skills of the likes of Greenidge, Marshall, Richards and Holding, all West Indian giants of the past. Now, after so many years, they are giving the descendants of these great players a taste of their ancestors' venom.
Mohammad Rafiq's century has led to a new record in the history of Bangladesh Cricket. This is the first time we had two centuries in an inning, not to mention Ashraful's 81. Mohammad Rafiq has been around for a long time, probably longer than any other member of the current Bangladesh side. He has already been acknowledged as the best SLA in the world; it was time that he used all his experience to do something as extraordinary for the team with his bat; and that is exactly what he did yesterday when he reached his 100, taking Bangladesh to their highest score in test cricket.
The way the Bangladeshi boys fought in the first inning was a thriller. Now the Bangladeshi fans might find it safe to say that the day has arrived - from this day onward, we will prove ourselves as a fighting nation in Test cricket, and our opponents will fear us.
