View Full Version : Our all rounders are not performing

We have been talking about our fragile upper order batting. And that is very true, so far. The other thing to note is that our all-rounders are not performing as all-rounders. Note that Rafiq is not among wickets for sometimes, now. Neither Sujon nor Mushfique contributes with the bat. The problem is that if you have bits and pieces all-rounders like we have, and they donít contribute both with bat and ball, then you miss the specialists. For instance, if Sujon and Mushfique donít score much, one would be tempted to take specialist bowlers instead. I know they are usually economical, but that is not enough when you are chosen as an all-rounder.

Allrounder type-1: wicketkeeper+batsman
Pilot -very satisfactory performance

Allrounder type-2: bowler+batsman
Mushfiq/Mahmud -both dumb at the moment!

reason: there r no strong competition for these places in the team.. in other words.. no newcomers as all-rounders !!!

even players like tapash/rafiq/ash/kapali r having to try hard to stay in the team.. coz alternatives r ther..!!
but allrounders r not having to worry about that!!

I think so far satisfactory performance but I don't agree with this very.

And he has no competitor also.
