Sri Lanka is supposed to play a test series in Bangladesh in November this year (link (http://www.cricinfo.com/db/ARCHIVE/2004-05/SL_IN_BDESH/SL_IN_BDESH_NOV2004_SCHEDULE.html)). Are they going Pakistan instead of Bangladesh during that time (link (http://www.htcricket.com/htcricket/14_926309.htm))?

Sri Lanka to play test series in Pakistan in October
Tue 3 August, 2004 13:45

KARACHI, Aug 3 (Reuters) - Sri Lanka have agreed to play a two-test series in Pakistan in October, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said on Tuesday.

Sri Lanka, who are already playing a triangular one-day series against Pakistan and Zimbabwe in Pakistan in October, added the test matches after Bangladesh agreed to postpone their scheduled home series against Sri Lanka until next year.

"They (Sri Lanka) had said they could not play the tests because they were to tour Bangladesh in October and November this year," PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan said on Tuesday. "But now they are coming (because) Bangladesh have agreed to host them next year in February."

The triangular series is scheduled from October 1-16, with the test matches tentatively set to begin on October 20.

On second thoughts this seems a good decision on BCB's part! The Tigers will get some breathing space before the Indian tour. The Kiwi tour won't be easy, and having that kind of a schedule will put too much stress on the players and we would have risked some serious injuries. A month's break will let our players rest their bones, reassess their performance, fine-tune, and generally put in their best in each of the series.
