I think our selectors did a great job picking Kapali from almost no where. Team selection is always a thankless job and in this case our previous panel of selctors deserve a lot of praise.

Unfortunately, I do not expect anything like this from the current panel .

61.1 Collins to Alok Kapali, FOUR, short delivery on the middle and leg,
pulled away to the mid-wicket fence, was not perfectly timed but
enough bat on it to take it over the ropes

61.3 Collins to Alok Kapali, SIX, MAXIMUM! shor again, this time Kapali
goes back and pulls it over the fine-leg fence, there was a man
out there but he could only watch it go over the rope, neat clean
hit

68.4 Powell to Alok Kapali, OUT: short delivery just outside the off
stump, Kapali goes for the pull but gets an edge and Jacobs takes
a simple catch, sad end to a fine innings!

:o:(:(:(

You will notice that Kapali doesn't waste his time. Sure, it's great if you can score 80-odd runs in 200+ balls but why waste our time when you can do it in 110 ?

Also, a big TALIYA for our old man Moni. He keeps on fighting.

Moni's batting was crucial today. Without his long stay, Kapali won't have got his 85. Very strange that yesterday's 3 HEROs became ZEROs today. 3 DUCKS in a ROW. We are one of a kind to achieve this type of milestones.
