If we win the toss, should we bat or bowl first?

Reason: All caps removed from title.

Agreed that end result will be the same, but which will give us the more respectable result.
Personally, i think that we should bat 2nd, as that way we will know what our targeted run rate should be and maybe this time Dav can EXPLAIN this to our players in a way that they will understand.

Bat first...no doubt.
If our batsmen sniff even a whiff of pressure, they are sure to f*** up. So why allow the possibily of chasing 325?
I'd say, whatever happens, bat first.

Yeah bat first
And then lose in 20 overs.

Bat first! no doubt about it..we will collapse first and there will be a mini-recovery in the end. By batting first we can at least give that mini-recovery some chance since there will no pressure of chasing a inevitably huge target!

I prefer to give our bowlers a chance to play too. So bowl first and let them play their 50 overs.
Batting first wont help at all other than a quick end. Bowling full 50 however will give them experience.

Last time BD won an ODI - they batted first, right?
So bat first. Batting 2nd is always a problem for team like BD. Looking at the huge score/rr will put a lot of pressure on our batsmen.

bat first - take the word of the Great dariwala_I_forgot_his_name...on the very few rare occassions that things went our way, we had batted first. so it doesnt matter what the pitch is like - just bat first and hope beyond hopes that the sun will rise in the west and never set.

i'd for the "bat first" side.
here is why. if we bat first, we can have an extra batsman to make a "good looking" total. only 4 people who can bowl, is enough in the playing 11, since they will reach the required run within 40 overs, only 4 bowlers can (10x4=40) be used legally.

Here is my strategy and prediction:
void BDTeamStrategy()
{
If (it's a day game) then
{
if (it's a bowling pitch) then
{
Bowl first;
go to GetResult("Bowl First");
}
else
{
Bat first;
Go to GetResult("Bat First");
}
}
else if (it's a day-night)
{
Bat First;
Go to GetResult();
}
else
"Shouldn't come Here. Ops! Logic Mulfunction"
}
String GetResult(int strategy)
{
If (it Rains) then
return "Ke Moja Ke Moja, ITS A DRAW!!!!";
else if (srategy is "Bats First") then
return "Hai, Hai, Bangladesh Loose by 8 wickets" ;
else if (srategy is "Bowl First") then
return "Eki Holo Eki Holo, Bangladesh Loose by 200 Runs";
else
return "Bangladesh forfeit the game.";
}
Bottom line we will loose BIG unless there is rain.

Bat first and get the advantage of the pitch wear after 50 overs. The most important thing is to play the 50 overs. I don't think Sujon should play in chittagong, we could have had another spinner/batsman.

looking at the number of people agreeing or disagreeing whether to bat or not if toss is won, tells me that perhaps the BD team is equally divided. In that case, we should pray that we loose the toss (sarcasm). I believe Utpal Shuvro in one of his prothom-alo articles said something like this sometimes in the past. Probably, during the test against England.
