I think 5 bowlers is an overkill .... if your 4 bowlers are not gonna take wickets, the 5th won't either.

This is the same argument as someone had that if 5 batsman don't make the scores, the 6th batsman won't either.

really missing rukon and hannan - they are the best slip fielders so far

Navarene

Just logged in. How many catches they drop today?

allrounder

1 catch by rana, and gavaskar said he was in dreamland not in the field, his eyes are not on the ball.

DJ Sahastra
December 17, 2004, 01:10 AM
Gavaskar drops gems every time he gives his views.

Priceless!!!

kalimdor
December 17, 2004, 01:11 AM
rana's catch was hard one, very hard chance

DJ Sahastra
December 17, 2004, 01:13 AM
Talha seems quite tall. Has a smooth run-up too.

bangalee
December 17, 2004, 01:15 AM
not a hard one at all. It was right in his hands but he was lookin at some where else and was late to get to the ball. When you are fielding at slips we should be always ready and at this level it was a fairly easy catch.

Question: Will Dravid get his 17th Test Century or 36th Test Half century in this innings??

Aftab can be tried for an over or two

shaheen
December 17, 2004, 01:26 AM
Basher should try with Aftab at least2/3 overs with Aftab. At least he gave hard time to the NZ in recent ODI. What u guys think???

roaring tigerz

i think dravid should be tested with some short ones....bowlers have just bowled three quarters and above length to him

31.4 Mohammad Rafique to Gambhir, no run, drifting down the leg side,
Gambhir tries to play it fine but makes no contact, Mashud moves
across quickly and takes it cleanly, appeal for caught behind
turned down
33.5 Mohammad Rafique to Dravid, no run, fuller and down the leg side,
Dravid tries to turn it away but fails to make contact, Mashud
does well behind the stumps

Good turn from Rafique. Please no short batts from Rafique.

December 17, 2004, 01:39 AM
Why cant we use someone to bottle up one and attack from the other preferably with Rafiq? It has been proven over times that if you dry out runs from one end wickets will fall eventually. I mean ask some one to keep on bowlinf 3 feet outside the off stump the batsmen will think three times before hitting shots and thus that end will produce very little runs without risks. And put the pressure on the batsmen to score runs from the other end by taking risks. I know this is test cricket, but if we can do it for a session we will reap rewards

An indian live commentary as follows

51.5 Rafique to Dravid, no run, flatter ball on the off, Dravid leans forward to defend and misses as the ball goes through straighter, rapped on the pads, appeal turned down, that was close!

This is a really bad and flat pitch. Rana is a dud as a bowler. Isn't he in the team as a bowler? This is looking bad. Those two are set and India will post somewhere around 550-600 unless we do something about it. One more thing. About the comentary of Gavaskar. He's got to be the worst in the whole world. Everything about this man is irritating. The delivery, pronounciation, analysis..everything. what a dud. When he tries to joke around, he thinks he is funny, but not quite so. Anyway..thank God for mute button. Harsha is quite refreshing by the way.

dravid is not in his best form now a days, but still scores century. that is why rated as a top world class batsman.

veeru must be feeling bad today, ihe will not get any other chance to bat in tests in this series. atleast some thing to cheer bangladesh

gambir - the most happiest man in indian squad

tendulkar - seems very much relaxed

laxman - eagerly waiting to score a century, in a very agressive manner as he want to prove he is still capable of playing one day cricket

ganguly - most satisfied man

kartik - proved worthy and next some series assuered

pathan - superman at the moment

kumble - as usual, it is all expected

harbajhan - sab kuch chala, but mera nahin chala

Yeah..total batting wkt. Just watch how we manage to screw it up. Masrafee is the only one keepin it real. Nazmul had rude welcome. He was bowling way tooo full. Almost half volleys. And he primarily bowls the inswinger. Talha bolwed well in places. Bashar really lacks imagination. You gotta try somethin unorthodox to break the rythm. Once again very dissapointed with Rana's bowling.
