Lazy [] laxman looks better in pavilion.. do not worry the donkey should have asked for third umpire.. in base of clean catches it's legal to do.. anyway I am happy that he is gone....

It's harsh and unfair and impolite to say that cheating....he appealed cause he was convinced; it's upto umpires (with tv replay, too) to take the right decision

You are talking like, Rafiq is negligible to Bhajji......Rafiq has taken wickets in all types of ground....he reached 50 wickets playing less number of tests than the likes of Murali and Warne (given he most often can bowl only 1 innings per test).....Bhajji is pretty well, especially in Indian pitches....but no match for Rafiq!

Baundule
December 18, 2004, 12:42 AM
An interesting statistics of first test:

If you deduct tendulkar and ganguly's runs from the total, it becomes 207....
and without Zaheer's 75, it's merely 132.

Tendulkar got life at 0, Ganguly at 14 (as far as I cna remember), forgot about Zaheer; but his knock was pretty unlikely if team total was not that good by that time.....

now, actually those missed chances make the difference. even a first inning lead was possible.

dear fans, let's hope for the best, we do deserve not only to play tests; but also to win them....we have all the weapons; just need some good luck!:fanflag:

Rafique took an excellent catch of Laxman with 1 hand stretched out to his left, but he landed on the ground with the ball touching the ground and not yet in control of the ball. much the same is Rashid Latif did against BD. so I am worried he might be suspended if ICC gets involved.

shaoun
December 18, 2004, 01:05 AM

Anyways, i hope he is not reprimanded. Maybe a word in person from the umpire/referee should be enough.

allrounder
December 18, 2004, 01:08 AM
It was Laksman's catch. Its not about getting caught in the field that I am worried, its about getting complaints from anybody to ICC. any info if India is going to take any action?

If they complain to ICC, Rafique is in trouble. It is a serious offense according to ICC

you cant count mashrafee too as the centurian.

I doubt. Most people don't care. I don't think anything's gonna happen. And i am quite ok with that.

I was disappointed that Laxman as a gentleman cricketer was a victim. But then, i guess it's all the part and parcel of competitive cricket.

and sourav is a set batsman who is the other dangerous indian hitter

There is a psychological aspect to this partnership.

If it goes on like this, BD players will be mentally overpowered.

Baundule
December 18, 2004, 02:01 AM
An interesting statistics of first test:

If you deduct tendulkar and ganguly's runs from the total, it becomes 207....
and without Zaheer's 75, it's merely 132.

Tendulkar got life at 0
Ganguly at 14
when Zaheer?

shaheen
December 18, 2004, 02:01 AM

I feel the field setting should be a lot more aggressive for Kumble. Containing him won't get us a wicket. Even Ash needs to have 3/4 good fielders around the bat.
