Can someone do an excel bar graph on that?
Also, Does Rafiq's or Ran's bowling suffer when they bowl in tendem. Its going to be hard to find data for this.

I am not talking about 1,2 or 3 innings. Has the average gone down significantly?

Feelings about Bashar can only be expressed by arafath79:
Bashar shalare ekta laathi mara dorkar
disclaimer: arafath79 didn't really come out and said it exactly like that..I took liberty to edit one of our fav. arafath lines.:D

1st Test against West Indies, this year (remeber he didn't play against NZ, so these 2 tests can't be counted)
Find the scorecard from Cricinfo.

I think he need a rest from the capainship. His body language was very pathetic and he was not at all motivational, inspirational and moral boosting. his standing, walking, talking and everything in the filed not much impressive. So, how can he bat well in such a situation he is morally down……????

The problem is, there is no other person in the team who can be made captain. But I think, Mashud should be made the captain again. I do not think his game suffered when he was the captain earlier.

Mashud is the best choice at this moment. i am not saying bashar is not good, but he is under pressure and carrying the burden at this moment. his inner feelings are very much clear on his face.

I want to thank pagol-chagol for this thread. I agree with him and I expressed my concern about the same matter earlier in different posts. If you remember, he started his debut as the captain with a notorious 'pair'. His average before captaincy was 36.08 whether for the rest of the matches as a captain, the average has come down sharply to 27.09.
If we see the case of Sachin, it happened the same thing for him. But their Board took the right decision in the right time by relieving him from that extra pressure, which brought them instant results.
I guess, our Board should think this matter for the sake of his career as well as BD performance. We have players like Masud or Rafiq to take over the captaincy at this moment and many more like Nafis, Ashraf, Aftab are there for near future.
As Philosophy states, "Needs make the Leader"; everybody has leadership quality, but we need to flourish them according to the need.
Watching Habib's captaincy I had the same feeling as mentioned by vv_sunil.

The load of captaincy definitely effecting his performace in the field in a negative way.

Body Language. We don't have the talent or experience to recover from that.

Actually, I myself was quite confused about Bashar's ability as captain whn he was given the job...
But isn't he.. so far.. the most successful captain in BD's short history?
ODI Win vs. ZIM, test draws.. n some few good performances are already in his career record as captain.
Something is bothering him too much recently... no doubt!
which is affecting both his batting & captaincy -n i suppose none of these two r the reason for the other.. rather both r results of that 'Something'
This something may be the load of huge expectation by other ICC TEST nations.. which is not only making Bashar shakey.. but also almost all our players.
IMO... lets rely on Bashar as captain..
everyone gotta face the big days n the big probs.. n come thru them.. not escape them n try to live a 'happy'(but successless) life!!
I'm sure he will make a much better captain in future once he learns to deal with these stresses..
After all.. there is nothing more valuable than experience & time.. when it comes to BIG responsibilities as captaincy!
