Our bowlers will have more than 72 hours of rest. Even the 33 overs on the 4th day morning are a distant memory. On the other hand Zimbabwe's bowlers will get less than 48 hours of rest. Typically sore muscles need about 48 hours to recover.

Enamul may have been tired yesterday - but, by thursday afternoon his sore muscles should completely heal.

One other thing to consider, when the last time Bangladesh won an ODI against Zimbabwe, Heath Streak, GW Flower everyone was in the Zimbabwe side.

In addition, I thought that Taibu's claim that they have done well against England despite losing every single ODI against England in November-December of 2004 deserve some scrutiny. So, I did some research and below is the summary. Bashar's claim of a BD clean sweep is not unfouded.

Game #1 England won by 5 wickets. Zimbabwe score was 195 all out in 49.3 overs.

Game #2 England won by 161 runs. Zimbabwe scored 102 all out in 36 overs in reply to Englands 263.

Game #3 England won by 8 wickets. Zimbabwe scored 238/7 though.

Game #4 England won by 74 runs. England scored 261 and Zimbabwe were all out for 187.

Taibu seems to be running a disinformation campaign. I am going to email him at once to cease and desist from spreading these types of rumours!

On a more serious note, why is Bashar talking about a clean sweep - a series victory will be fine, and if it is a clean sweep it will be a bonus. Now he is not leaving himself any room for error.

It seems that Enamul won't play after all - how dumb is that?

thats one thing i dun understand...i think they should play enamul...first of all he is the bowler inform when masri and rafique both injured...secondly he will have this mental advantage against the zimbabwe batsmen as they had hard time playing him in test series....bd shouldnt miss this opportunity...

BD is missing it's BEST two assests in the ODIs rafique and mashrafee, without these two our lower order is toothless and bowling is less effective.

Remember, rafique not only is experienced but also very miser in giving runs. With bat Rafique and Mahrafee are one of the best in the world in thier repsective slots.

So Enam is not a replacement for rafique by any means, he is a filler and has a long way to go.

Hope Enam will prove me wrong today.

Zimbabwe did do their homework playing Rafique. What makes you think that they will not do their homework on Enamul. A winner can not have single or just two points of failure.

I think bringing Rana and Raj will be interesting.

Rana is a fairly decent batsman and Raj is aggressive.

rana and raj will be fine. but enam and raj would have been better, don't you think? they may be trying to make up for the lost batting missing from mashrafee and rafique (quite significant) by bringing in rana. at least we don't have to worry about mushfiq babu anymore!

or SHANTO for that matter ;)

Shanto would have been an excellent choice, no really. Think about it. If Shanto play FOR Zimbabwe, we may really see a clean sweep.

That could be the reason why Rana came ahead of Enaml. I was also thinking the same way.

I take back the Shanto comment - he gets explosive, not with the ball but WITH THE BAT.
