Win a game or two first, Than think about series.
Otherwise a whitewash is just around the corner. Shame on BD. SHAME!!!

I think we'll win the next game, but then lose the two after that. Zimb will win the series 4-1.

Unbelievable performance today...

nope - not at all. a more appropriate topic would be "Can Bangladesh avoid a whitewash in this series?"

We are at 0-2. Our target with full concentration should be on winning the next game. The thought of winning the seriese at this point should be prohibitated for BD players and for the fans also. If we can win the next game then we think about the next one and then the next one. Lets not get ahead of ourselves.

BD can win the 3rd if Rafique is back. By the way I can never rely on bashar and Ash with winning this series back.

Plot a graph of BD performance in the series and you get the answer automatically.
1st Test - Win by 226 Runs (Flying in heaven)
2nd Test - Draw (Narrowly escape a nose dive [and save it for the ODI's])
1st ODI - Loss by 22 runs (back to reality)
2nd ODI - Loss by 31 runs (banged to cruelty)
3rd ODI - ...............................Fill in the gaps with the help simple mathematics. Something by 40 runs may be.....LOL (with tears on the chic):info::(

The outcome of the series depends on who bats first

we should take one game at a time from here and forget about the outcome of the series.

Rafiq need to play to win. If he plays 3 ODI with Mashrafe and Enamul we will win. It will be very hard.

I think bd dosen't have any chance to win the series at all and even two odi. we might expect to see little bit different if rafique join the next 3 odi.

aftab should be kicked out and let rafique join in and keep mashrafee in also they both will be big tough for zim............. also they should kick out rana and let javed play the next match .. .

Bashar will win to toss and lose again! Pathetic batting and bowling so far in ODIs. They should have rocked the Zim top order with the strength of our bowlers. Poor co-ordination and concentration of most of the players while captain being the worst.

I have been one of those optimists all along.. but at this time, I am too embarassed to say anything.. I've learnt my lesson of talking with foot in my mouth... With Bashar being the captain..I don't have anything else to say.. I've become one of those who really think Bashar lacks sound judgement and decision making capabilities when it counts the most.

agreed....with this batting lineup i doubt anything good will happen against zimbabwe....it looks like taibu and the whole team knows wat to do....and bangladesh is so lost...pathetic batting in the middle....and bowling in last 10 overs....it was pain to see bd lose like that...

We still can catch the series if we play with rafiq, Rokon as well as Tushar if necessary and drop Aftab/ Ash/ Rana for next three matches. Besi9des this I hope the pitch will be spin friendly or just flat wicket as we played against India. So for the next three matches we should play with rajin/Nafis/Bashar/Rokon/Tushar/Pilot as specialist batsman where chacha and SIR (Rafique)as all rounder Masri, Taposh,Enamul, (rafique) as specialist bowlers. The 5th bowlers job can be done by Rajin and chacha )each 5 overs). If we really need another as a 5th bowler then we can take Ash or Aftab in place of Tushar; I think we should take at least six specialist batsman (including WKt keeper) and four specialist bowler and an all rounder. So my final team will be as follows

1. Nafis
2. Rajin
3. Bashar
4. Rokon
5.Tushar (or Ash/Aftab)
6.Pilot
7.Chacha
8. Rafique
9.Masri
10.Taposh
11.Enamul Jnr

Yes, anything can happen! With Rafiq, we have a confidence in winning the next game. And only the outcome of next game will set the stage for next two games. We do have good batsmen but unfortunately, sometypes of "jujus (Bhoy)" are not letting them play their natural games. I also believe that when push comes to shove, hard hitters like Masrafee and Tapash should be batting at their earliest instead at the last moment when only few overs are left.

Why are we so keen on seeing Rafiq out their ? Is he not injured or something ? Please don't respond by saying that he is a valuable asset even with a broken leg, or something to that effect !

AsifTheManRahman
January 26, 2005, 12:33 PM
exactly. rafique is injured, and fans should understand that playing with a hamstring problem is as impossible as Bangladesh beating Australia.

I hope Bangladesh can be on the series. But it will be tuff. So our batsman must do well in the 4th ODI to be on the series and win the series....

Hopefully with rafique back in the team... Bd will win the fourth ODI.

We have every chance to win this series. We have three Centurian in the team: Bashar, Ash and Nafis. There are also more than 7 half Centurians as well.

We also have awesome all-rounders: Rafiq, Mashrafee and Tapash

Rajin is at his best form. I also think Rana would exceed on the 4th ODI.

Now, If we get Al-Shahriar, then we will have the strongest batting team in the history of BD cricket.

Look, we lost 1st and 2nd ODI's for only few runs and some bad fielding and bad bowling at the last 10 overs. We have a great team and anything can happen in the game of cricket.

My bet is with BD. We will win the series. :flag:
