I would like to see this composition:

Nafis - An opening solution has been born

Rajin - Back in form. Best fielder we have. Uplifting , inspiring.

HB - Cap needs to let his bat do the talking today.

Ash - Another chance at redemption

Rana - Talented, follows instructions, gets runs, wickets. Average looks good. Unfortunately, does not get enough chances. Needs to come in at number five for the next 3 ODIs.

Pilot - Moved up in batting order. Too many not outs due to running out of partners in the last year. He is a batsman now people. Let's accept it.

Rafique - ODI batsman. For sure.

Taposh - Yes, at number 8. He knows batting. He is another ODI batsman we can rely on.

Mashrafee - Yet another of our ODI batsmen. at number 9, since he does not need a lot of time to score the runs. Check is strike rates.

Sujon - A reliable ODI bat, quick runs too.

Enamul - Need him to rip the heart out of the Zimbabwe innings.

Here, we have as many as 6 that can both bowl & bat(Ash, Rana, Taposh, KM, Rafique, Mashrafee). We also have 4 with credible batting credentials (Nafis, Rajin, HB, Pilot). We need Enamul simply to terrorize Taibu's men.

Looking at Zimbabwe's RR in the last overs, I say we reserve the last 6 overs for Mashrafee & Sujon. Open the bowling with Taposh & Mashrafee, but 4 overs each. Then remove Mashrafee and bring in Enamul in the 9th over. Give him 8 overs. Let Rafique have his 10, and 4 more for Taposh. Let Rana have 7 & Ash 3. The last 10 overs: Taposh & Enamul for the first 4, Mash & Sujon for the last 6. Sujon bowls excellent in the first few of his overs & gets wickets.
For the discards:

Aftab - Take a break, dude.

Rajjak - The series is on the line, you have to wait

Nazmul - 2 weaknesses, can't bowl the death overs yet, and a monkey with the bat. Remember, he missed out on the training session with Wayne Mattau that Taposh and Tarek Aziz had.

Alok - Abso-freaking-lutely not!. If we manage to drop this match also, it will be due to the inclusion of this flopmaster. Take a break dude. A loooooong looooong one. Go away. Far, far, far, far,far, far, faaaaaar away. Keep going, so we can't see you. Try 2006, 2007. May be. We'll see. Don't call us, We'll call you. Leave a message after the beep.

Does Pilot accept it? I accepted him as a batsman long time ago. But as far as I know, last time bashar was injured he played some fine knock. But in the interview he mentioned that the team should not expect too much from him and the tailenders as they are not the genuine batsman. I can understand about the tailenders, but Pilot not recognizing himself as a batsman in BD lineup..... I was kind of surprised.

I agree with ur team dude. seems about right, but check this out, the 2nd ODI had a dream team as well (missing Rafique) but it went to hell. All we need is team spirit and loose the over-confidence!

the changes announced for the 3rd ODI has been quite surprising to me. The decision to leave out tapash is not quite justifiable in my opinion. Yes, the bowlers have not bowled well in the death overs, but most definately we lost both the games due to our middle order ineptitude. In both games we made decent starts and were well in control in the first half of the innings. But the failure of numbers 4,5 and 6 cost us both the matches.If I had to make any changes to the bowling attack I would bring in one more specialist bowler to bolster our bowling. Shujon has performed quite well recently, but I would choose to leave him out for Nazmul. Maybe with four specialist bowlers we will be more successful in restricting Zimbabwe to a manageable total. I believe it is crucial for Aftab and Ashraful to regain some form in this match. Ashraful undoubtedly the best batsman in our team, certainly suffers from some kind of psychological block which has prevented him from performing upto his capability throughout his career. But it is crucial that Ashraful takes responsibility and plays a good knock in this crucial match. As for Aftab I am in no doubt that he is one for the future. Aftab needs to polish his technique but he has shown enough glimpses of talent in his fledgling career to suggest that he must be persevered with. Plus his ability to slip in a few overs with the ball and his athletic fielding are more reasons to keep him in the side.I would also bring in Kapali to replace rana. In my books Kapali is without a shadow of doubt a better batsman than Rana. If he was brought back to the team because the selectors believe he is one of the top 6 batters in our ODI lineup, surely he must be given more than one opportunity to stake his claim.My team for the 3rd ODI would be:

In Tests:

Rana averages 25.70
Alok averages 18.03 only

In ODIs:

Rana averages 23.90
Alok averages 19.95 only

Big difference, and talk about opportunities given. Alok played in 44 ODIs where Rana made good use of the 15 chances he was given. In test, Rana did good in the only 6 opportunities he was given, compared to Alok's flop-filled 16.

The target was only 237. In any International standard this is fairly a low score for full 50 overs. 250 is almost like an avg. in International ODIs. We could not even chase 237 and Bashar thinks it's the bowlers fault ???!!!!
It was not bowlers fault at all. It was our batsmen that could not chase this low target because most of our batsmen don't think they can be world class and do not even play like world class even though they may have the talent to become one.

I would play the team that had won the 2nd ODI against India. Well Enamul instead of Rafiq by default. When Rafiq comes back in the 4th ODI I would take chacha or Nazmul off.

That winning team vibe would have blown away some of the current deflated ballonlike feelling.

Another thing that would also have given us some needed positive energy is the inclusion of Rokon. Zim would have lost some air if they saw his name in the list. Well, too bad.

okay...we've been goin with 5 bats, 1 sp., and 4 bowlers...obviously this hasnt worked, when they click it will work...however even india and AUS with their great bats, dont play with less than 6. so here goes.
