If you have access to the ntv channel of Bangladesh, then watch the news tonight as Dav Whatmore was interviewed there.

Dav said nothing special - just that he's pleased with the performance etc. etc.

The most interesting thing that I remember is that when asked about the next 'target', while the news presenter was referring to England tour, Dav intelligently avoided answering the question.

I have a feeling that he will join Indian cricket team as Coach this April. I hope it will never happen.

Come on, be nice to Whatmore. He has given us a lot. Coaching India is a prestige, glamour, honor plus money. Coaching Bangladesh is just the challenge. We can't blame him if he does go, but we should remain glad for what he has done.

We have McInnes. In the begining, I was not his fan, but now, I am sure, he is a great coach and Bangladesh has nothing to worry with him aboard.

So relax.

Its actually not a bad idea to get a new coach for bangladesh.
Whatmore has given a lot...everyone learnt heaps..they've got test victory..series wins...a new coach can come and teach our team something new... Like in football so often we see change of coach after winning world cup...Dav Whatmore is a great coach..we'll always remember him...
The name gordon greenidge is coming to my mind now...I almost forgot about him...but it wont be the case with Dav.

Its actually the right time if Dav wants to bow out. He has done a great deal over the years. And today he has results. I dont know to what level he wanted to take Bangladesh, but he has probably achieved his goals. He has instilled belief and confidence in the players. They now go out there with intent. But i just hope he sticks around for a couple more years at least till the World Cup. As for McIness, he should be kept as coach of under 19 team. He has done a great job.

Well... saw the interview a while ago..

Whatmore din't avoid the question about England tour... rather he very honestly said "we will always be plying to win....we will be definitely looking for couple of wins hopefully against England and then Srilanka in the coming tours ahead...and also put up some competetive performances as well.."

Can't believe people are already trying to prepare themselves for Whatmore's exit. What are we all, poets? Whatmore's job is far from over and how can you just assume McInnes would get the test job?

Apparently the UAE based Khaleej Times reported the same, and that is what worries me the most. :-/

You sound miserable mate! I see you are in Durham, so I don't blame. If you ever make your way down to London, give me a buzz, I'll take you out for a hot meal or something and we can go do a michil together! Maybe you won't feel as imprisoned!

As for Whatmore, no need to fret, he wont go anywhere!

Man I am tired of this. First there was a talk about Dav leaving BD for Pak and now for India. These things are absolute nonsense!

Guys, put an end to this wicked speculation. Whatmore should not go anywhere, and he isnt going to go anywhere. He is staying here. I say he will stay as the BD coach till like he is 90 years old or beyond...

:up::up::up::up::up::up::up::up::up:

Mate, you are so right! After so many losses, BD suddenly have a winning formula and Dav is a vital component of that formula. He should stick around as long as possible, and the BD administrators should pay him heaps and give him good treatment so that he remains with the team. Furthermore, they should excuse small stumbles along the way, because there will be many to come, but what Dav is doing is for the long term.....

Eventually, yes, a new coach will be good. However, I don't think that the BD team have the maturity to shift to a new coach just yet... I think Dav would like to stay with BD for a while longer so that he can complete his mission....
