I have always been a great fan of Mark Waugh because of the way he batted. He is easily the most elegant batsmen in cricket history. Some of the Bangladeshi batsmen also play beautiful shots. Who do you think is the most elegant? I would say Alok Kapali in any day, but today Aftab Ahmed showed he is class!

Alok Kapali was the best when he was in form, but that's a matter long gone past.

I've voted for Ash, for his batting in the Test and ODI series vs. India.

Ather Ali was the one for me. In the current crop Aftab. Beleive me Tushar Imran never got enough chance to show his talent and style.

Athar Ali was elegant alright but can't call him flamboyant. He technically sound and a grat defender.

my vote goes to ash. its just a treat to watch him bat. even if he lasts 10 deliveries, in that short time he makes you think he's about to do something big.

but aftab isn't so far behind. i watched his 67 against india on sgstream, then the highlites of the 81*...he was just too good for the bowling. so is alok, when he's in form.

Shahriar Hossain batted beautifully. Anyone remember how he clattered Waqar Younis in World Cup 99. Definitely a classy player!

Like most of you, I like all of these Batsmen. They are indeed our national pride. :P:

Since the question was related to "flamboyant and elegant batsman", I voted for Aftab.

I will wait and see who can beat his record 24 runs in 1 over (5th ODI against Zimbabwe):

6 4 4 4 2 4

i voted for Aftab. He has all the shots in the book especially I love his timing and hook shot. Although I am voting on his potential, I think Aftab will be an asset to our country in the years to come. I am going out on a limb here but I see a hint of Sachin in Aftab in stature and strokeplay. But, nobody is Sachin but himself.

Some of you guys mentioned Shariar Hossain, i have no clue from which point of view- you guys are even saying that he's a batsman!!!
I don't know if anyone noticed- but have you seen his footwork?
At the point of the bowler's delivery- his right foot moves away from the leg-stump, he's doing the reverse shuffling, something thats technically very very wrong! He basically got runs in domestic cricket becoz of his hand eye co-ordination. Also he uses the fielding restrictions very well, by playing aerial shots!
I don't think he even deserves to be in our memory with such pathetic technique!
