View Full Version : Bangladesh A Team for the UAE and Zimbabwe Tour

The squad picked to play in UAE and Zimbabwe, namely Bangladesh A, is as follows :

Enamul Haque (captain), Shahriar Nafees, Sanwar Hossain, Tushar Imran, Shamsur Rahman, Saqib Al Hasan, Dhiman Ghosh, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyadh, Mohammad Sharif, Wasseluddin Ahmed, Shahadat Hossain Rajib, SK Russel and Shafaq Al Jabir.

This is rather the U-19 team, except those three players (Sanwar, Tushar and Sharif) with Test experience. And surprise oh surprise! Enamul Jr is the captain... I am not so sure that the choice is a good one... Sanwar is much more experienced. What do you guys say ?

Hopefully Enamul Jr. will prove himself as a capable captain. And as mentioned in the article, by the time he joins the team for the Zimbabwe series, Shahriar Nafees will act as the captain.

yeah, this is pretty much half of the future bd team. lets see how they come out.

shamsur: coach says he may turn out to be better than ashraful. apparently he gets bored when the opposing bowling sucks. that better change.
enamul: no comments necessary. i'm betting on him getting 200 test wickets.
shahriar nafees: ignored for u-19 world cup. been in form since then. should join nafis as rajin will surely move down the order after bashar retires. but we aren't rushing.
tushar: competing with alok/rokon for #6 batter's spot. he pretty much has to perform.
dhiman: as far as i know, he bats like a specialist batsman. future keeper?
sharif: reverse swing/old ball.
wasseluddin: haven't seen a lot of him.
rajib: faster than masri perhaps, has the height too.
shafaq: tall as hell. lefty. too young.

I have a feeling Coach McInnes surely put a word or two about Enam's promtion to be the captain- obviously he has worked with him very closely and knows the cricketing brain and the attitude he possesses!
I don't mind seeing Enam captaining the A team- becoz he was the captain of the U-19 team in the U-19 World Cup as well as when they went on tour of England!
