i think this yrs cricket league will be very competitive. i like the idea of selectors selecting the divisional team. eventhough chitagong (my division) is losing alot of its players but i think it will be good for the countries cricket. i also like the idea of senior players playing the role of coaches. i think this is a good idea because this will inspire the senior players to become coaches after they retire and this will also be a good experience for them.

We need coverage of these first class matches in cricinfo. Cricinfo is covering many leagues and tournaments in the test playing countries, then why not for Bangladesh National Cricket League?
Should we remind Cricinfo?????

we wont have any updates until the newspapers are out, or fwullah watches the news and posts the scores :)

i'm really interested in this year's national league - partly because this time the selectors are planning on a more even distribution of quality players over the six teams, partly because some of the national players are playing, and parlty because we really need to upgrade the standards of domestic cricket in order to do well in the international arena.

sending some of the test caps to the duleep trophy, imo, was a good move since these guys will play in a domestic competition that is way superior to ours.

looks like baisya is a bit out of touch. nazmul seems to be in control. masree and rana seem to be doing pretty good - carrying on the form acquired from the international arena....and damn - why does that guy tareq aziz always have to do well when nobody wants him in the team? just making life harder for us :)

he is not a foreign player. there are no foreigners in the national cricket league. farhad reza was the highest wicket taker in last years league. apparently he is good with the bat too. hope he develops into a great allrounder:great:

The guest players for Sylhet went AWOL!!

I assume they did not want to play for Sylhet, anyway they should not chop and change players from other districts in to districts they don't belong in.

Come on Pompous Farhad Reza is not a foreign Player? Why are you so afraid of foreign players? There is no so called foreign players in the National leauge!!

i am not sure if he's foreign. i just couldn't find his profile on cricinfo, and his name sounds kinda paki. ok it wasn't really a wise conclusion.

anyways, the third day scores are up. mashrafe has bowled hannan out twice in this match, and hannan's partner imran was also bowled out twice (once by mash and once by manj).

mahbubH

>> i just couldn't find his profile on cricinfo,

cinfo has profiles of the players who played at least firstclass match or international match. That was the first match for Forhad Reza I guess. (Tinitin can tell whether that is a record: 99 at the first innings of a first class match).

Why would I be afraid? Where did that come from? I was asking a question. I just found the idea of selectors personally choosing a foreign player to play in the National league preposterous. Jeez :)

Big hundred from Golam Rahman of Sylhet. It was indeed nice to see someone going on and score a big one. They are back in the match and can expect a draw now. Lets see if Ash can play an unbeaten big knock himself. He seems to be on target. But, you never know.

Shahin Hossain the wkt keeper from barisal batting at no.4, scored 60+ in both innings..

Hasanuzzaman of rajshai equalled that same feat batting at no.7. You knew Mashud will come through after faltering in the first innings. He is not out on 50.

Whatever happened to hannan sarkar? getting bowled all the time. I am afraid his career is over in intl cricket. Never recovered from the WI trip.

Masri and Nazmul doing great as the national bowlers. Tapash fought back in the second innings. Wkt less is rafiq!! Arafat sunny 6 wkts!!

Khulna should win. Other two will probbaly end up in draw..

Hey guys........i am really interested to know about FARHAD REZA.....he took 27 wickets in the dhaka league and 99 in the 1st match......like u guys i am also doubtful that he is a foreign player......If he is bangladeshi (I hope) then we have good prospect (though too early to say) in our hand.

Can anyone really confirm about farhad reaza? as far as i know......foreign players played and also can play in NCL.
