Bashar should bring down his strike-rate by 6 and move up his average by the same figure. :)

How about a list of players with 50+ strike rate AND a 50+ average?

its test cricket... strike rate isn't important... it wud have been nice if the rank 21 was in ODI...

oh and Cracky, as a bowler I don't agree with the eqation more runs=more entertainment ;)

agreed.
average counts more. BD shouldn't be excited about a high strike rate in Tests.

Bashar's tendency to pull and hook has given him faster runs... in Test cricket, the boundaries arent always covered. Well, Bashar is a dashing batsman nonetheless.

come on. Its not that he hits and gets out. look at his ave, 52.
Having a strike rate 82 with an ave 52 is quite an achievement.

Did you guys know that Mashrafe has two more games to go and he'll be on the best strike rate list on ODI? All he has to do is maintain his current strike rate (96.41) for two more games, and he'll be the 9th in the list!!

Check it out: http://www.cricinfo.com/db/STATS/ODIS/BATTING/ODI_BAT_BEST_SR.html

The criteria to make that list is to complete 20 ODIs, and Mashrafe is at 18!

Strike Rate IS important in Test Cricket, unless the team is playing for a draw.

And Basher surely has lot better average than other BD batsmen who has no more than 2/3rd of his strike rate.

yeah, 2x more than Bradman's average :P

btw, which BD batsman has better average than Bashar?

boasting about a bashar's strike rate in test is kinda like you know when a batsman come bowler bowls only 1 over in a 5 ODI series and gives 4 runs and luckily takes a wicket and takes the top spot in bowling average.

Average of 50+ combined with strike rate of 50+ is awesome. As a post above shows, as many as 8 out of 12 such players are currently active. So we are lucky to watch some exciting test cricket batting at present.
