All members' theme was force changed to BanglaCricket theme. If you want to change your theme, go to your profile and change it.

When I read about forum upgrade I was thinking about something like a new forum software, either invisionboard or phpbb; but this new theme also looks really nice.
Does this board have "threaded view" feature?
Good work!

You can click on control panel then change profile to change the theme. Just choose the theme you had, if you wish.
I suggest using this one as this totally blends into the whole site. Even if it feels awakward now, it will become very handy shortly.

looks like more people are satisfied with the "cricket" theme (refered as "previous theme" in the poll options). it includes me. the main reason is, the new looks is very much old and vastly used in many other forums and the "cricket" theme is pretty much unique. i've already switched to the old "cricket" theme.

Looks like I am the only one! who likes the new theme!?
But I like to see those red font color in different color, like blue or green or something.

So far, 10 already likes it, 10 likes the old look and 1 undecided. That is very good as normally human nature is to avoid change, used to habit.
Soon, most of you will love it, I do.

The new theme actually has an upper hand, in total BC + BC Green = 17 Vs 12 of those who voted for the old theme. :)

You know what I find amusing? Some people saying that the new design looks "cheap" like phpBB. As if the old XMB default green theme was somehow not cheap. Mass psychology is very interesting.

Since when was xmb better that phpbb? LOL :)
Actually XMB looks cheap to me. phpbb is much much better. But I will settle for xmb.
My personal favourite is the hacked threaded view of phpbb, "mobythreads" : http://www.mobythreads.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=8
I have a thing for threaded forums.

this is much more professional... i was going to suggest to the moderator that there should be links of the main site contents in the forum, and there they are now! An effective update this!

"cheap" meaning common and similar to all those low quality websites owned by mofiz's and chandu's and gopal's.
however, bc should be unique.

In the context of the overall BC scheme, this look IS kinda unique. What mofiz or chandu's website looks as good as ours?

i still feel that the grey-green contrast is much better. the new one looks naked and is not comforting to the eye at all.
mofiz-chandu's website --- there's a lot out there. just do a google on forum or something like that.

I like threaded view also. However, wont work for a big site like ours. A match thread goes as high as <a href="http://www.banglacricket.com/alochona/viewthread.php?tid=8243">2800+ reply</a>, try viewing that in threaded view.

I agree that threaded view by default is not practical for large forums or large threads. But it would have been nice to have an option to switch between threaded and flat view, like "mobythreads" does.
Anyways, if I haven't said it already. i like the new view.
And since we already have an option of switcing to the previous "look"; I don't understand why people are complaining about?
Good work guys.
Blah
ps, Thats what a long thread would look like in threaded view (check out at the bottom of the link)
http://www.mobythreads.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=1
funny :)

I find threaded view hard to follow, just clicking on every response makes it boring to follow. Reminds me of newsgroups.

I hope thats not the "chandu" whom I saw.
Few years back me and my friend, while driving back from Ohio to NY, took an exit in rest area. There we saw a parked car with Ohio license plate "CHANDU". Few mins later we saw who appeared to be Mr. and Mrs Chandu (100% BD) near their car. Mr. Chandu was full bald :bald:

Two "new posts" are showing top.
Is it possible to have "new posts" at the end of the page also then I don't need to scroll up to the top to click on it.

Some suggestion may u find useful with this theme....
1. make it little more contrast as it may help for the people who has difficulties with vision.
2. the heirarchy of importance of the subjects (like poll, left panel for user info, quick reply panel...) is not maintained as u may find whole page became dull...make slight variation in color.
3. the jpeg of the top title bar is too contrast compare to the whole page....feels like need a repeatation of such contrast object at below or anywhere in the page.
4. here is two points to highlight, firstly, cricket and Bangladesh with second most priority. A page of 'Bangla Cricket' must not be flooded with green and red color but demands some attitudes to prove it (Like ...a tiger is not enough to prove it). As the present look does not cover this point.
5. I would like to see some new icomotions.
last of all, all the suggestion above is for 'forum page' only. The home page is quite OK to me. And the judgement is too subjective and may not be common so please dont take it as 'bangali nak golano'.

New BanglaCricket Theme.
Arnab
March 8, 2005, 06:17 PM
There are some new intermediate themes for you to choose from:
BC - Green: is just the old "cricket" theme with the shade of green corrected for the original site's green (which, incidentally, is the same green used in our flag).
Banglacricket - DL: This is the new Banglacricket theme with Dark LInks (i.e., black links instead of the current default red links)
