He is a ROCK STAR.
Reason: 132. not 131. Also added 202[/i]

He also scored 70 runs in the first inning. Thats 201 runs in the game against Taposh and Alok.
Also played wicketkeeper!
On this memorable occasion I can only remember the thread : "Mashrafee is overrated". Spend 10 minutes searching for that thread just to bring it up on such a lovely occasion. (help!)

He is the pace bowling version of Mohammad Rafiq.
He is attacking a bowler.
He is great fielder.
He is a promising batsman.
He is a wicketkeeper (!!!)
As far as this NCL match performance is concerned, Just the word "all-rounder" does not properly describe him. He is ALL-DAMN-ROUNDER.

Oh no!
I hope he doesn't try that.
Its hard enough to become good at one thing. The Pagla might think that he would bowl fast with the new ball and spin with the old ball.

Some observations:
Masree was on the crease for 30 overs in the first inning and about 45 overs(not out) in the second inning.
He played 2nd down in both innings.
Selhet bowlers bowled 145 overs straight in the two innings. They were really tired.
but
Mashrafee scored 202/1
Rana scored 114/1
Rest of Khulna: [/b] 205/17[/b] (average 12)
Muniruzzaman's 151 and Golam Rahman's 94 were doubly impressive because they scord those against 3 of our national team bowlers - Mashrafee, Rana and Razzak. + Dollar Mahmud is a young stud.

Interestingly, Khulna would have surely lost despite Mashrafee's batting had the first day not been all but lost (was it weather?). He didn't take any wickets in the one innings they bowled, which is strange maybe.
It's good to see so many batsmen get really high scores this year - 200 run opening stands, 150+ scores - even though it is against our own crappy bowlers, it's a good trend.

His role in this match was as a specialist batsman and occassional bowler!!
By the way, he was not getting wicket, is that why he gave up his bowling and went for the wicketkeeping job?

It rained most of the first day.
Sylhet's first inning openning pair scored 206 against Mashrafee + Rana + Razzak + Dollar. Not to shabby. I wonder if the rain killed the pitch.

Edit : I'll add a disclaimer first. Since there was less than an hour's play on the first day, it is not correct to say that he batted through the first two days. If it is only a matter of batting *on* three days, the rest of this post follows ....
=======
Not unique. There are *atleast* three instances in previous seasons of an innings lasting three days. In two of those cases, the batsman batted on all four days (including the second innings)
Mehrab Hossain (http://www.cricketarchive.co.uk/Archive/Scorecards/f/47/f47276.html) , Imran Ahmed (http://www.cricketarchive.co.uk/Archive/Scorecards/f/45/f45997.html) and Nannu (http://www.cricketarchive.co.uk/Archive/Scorecards/f/45/f45941.html)

Why is Mashrafee doing wicketkeeping? That's just weird. I don't think he should be wasting his time and risking injury with wicketkeeping. Of course, it could be due to some extenuating circumstance, but surely someone else could have kept...
Bottom line is he should be concentrating on his batting and bowling. BCB should not overuse and burn him out. He is obviously talented and should be nurtured, not expolited.

Great batting performance from Mashree and Rana.
Now Mashree know how to score 100 and how to play a long innings.
He is becoming a all rounder like Rafiq but certainly should not "keep" to prove himself a all rounder.
Wish to see his great performance in international match too.
b/w, so many good scorer in this NCL, is that a sign of our batting improvement?

man...mashrafee seems to be a triple-rounder...
a strike bowler...best we've got
a century maker...
and even a keeper sometimes (not that its apprecited..even by me)..
mates...we have a jewel of a cricketer here...
i hope BCB can really nurture this kid well...and may be make him our chris cairns ..or at least a good reliable lower order batsman...
he also showed some good batting potential against india recently.....
soon rafiq and pilot are gonna retire..and we need someone like them to hold on to our lower order batting...
cuz most of our matches..its these batsmen who saves our face...
what do you guys think ??

its great to see masrafee scoring a century. but he needs to remember that he is a bowler first. he is in the team as a bowler. but if he can contiue to improve his batting and become an all arounder that will definitely be a plus for bangladesh. but this cannot hurt his bowling. i want masrafee to take wicket more his batting is a plus. remember wasim akram was a great batsman too. he scored a double century. but he focused more on his bowling and he became one of the best fast bowler in cricket. so i hope masrafee continue to improve with the bat but i hope he can improve with the bowl too. because he is in the team as a fast bowler. so he needs to concentrate more on his bowling.
