Left-handed batsman Mehrab Hossain Jr and left-arm paceman Syed Russel were selected to play in Australian domestic cricket (Darwin League).

Young Mehrab hogged the spotlight with some brilliant knocks in the ongoing National Cricket League including a century for Dhaka while Rajshahi seamer Russel had a bright show with the BCB XI in the Indian Duleep Trophy.

In their long stay in Australia, they will play in the Darwin League.

On the other hand, Barisal wicketkeeper Shahin Hossain who struck a rich vein of form with the bat also in the National League, and another left-arm paceman Shafaq Al Jabir were selected to train at the Australia's Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy for a month.

All four players are expected to fly to Down Under on April 14

Thats why BCB need to have a game plan for him after the domestic league, so that he can fix that sooner than later; may be they already have a plan, we just don't know.

Thats because BCCB is hiring Greg Chappell to come to Bangladesh for 2 months to give Golam Rahman Himel individual training with special attention. After his domination in the league at the tender age of 17 BCCB knows that he is the future. A left handed 17 year old openner who refuses to get out - you don't get those in Wal-Mart.

Special thanks to Khaled Mahmud who pushed for it after watching Golam Rahman scoring 160 and 116 on his talented Dhaka team surviving 127 and 108 overs respectively.

Now you know why the visionary genious Khaled Mahmud is going to be the boss of BCCB soon and why nobody wants to mess with him now.

Australian cricket might be worried about Left handed Bowlers/Batsmen. Lately India performed tremendously with left handers (Zahir,Pathan, Nehra). John Wright rightly opinted out the weakness of Aussie performance against lefties.

Aussie cricket might just pointed that as well and decided to bring in foreign talents of lefties and fulfill some of the agreement of players transfer between BD-Aus under 19s. This aspect was discussed (as far as I remember) when McInnes interview for appointment was being held in Australia.

Whatever the case may be so far so good!

This is not an April Fool's Joke. Just a satire on BCCB's not giving Golam Rahman a top priority.

I would also like to see similar steps taken like when Andy Roberts came to BD- that inspired players like Shafaq, Talha and Mashrafee to come up- we need to have visits like those to stir up our youngsters, give them motivation and also bring out the hidden talents.
Also- programmes like GrameenPhone Pacer Search should be encouraged. Our local corporations should also help out to make efforts like such in the development of BD Cricket.
