April 11, 2005, 03:47 PM
Well the first day of the second test between NZ and SL is over and it looks like NZ are firmly in control. Chris Martin cut through SL's top order with 6 wickets as SL fell to 211 all out. Only T. Samaraweera and U. Chandana batted well. Samaraweera got 73 from 250 balls whilt Chandana got 41 from 97 balls. Martin had gotten the important wickets of Atapattu, Jayasuria, Sangakkara and Jayawardene. He finished with 6 for 54.
NZ started their chase strongly finishing off the day at 52 without the loss of a wicket. Tehy batted at 4.73 runs per over...
Over this match is all NZ. They held teh advantage from the start mostly because of Martin's blitz.

The great Kyle Mills returned figures of 0/50. His career bowling average now is 239.00 and career strike rate 450.00. Not unlike the figures of our beloved Sujon once upon a time.

LMAO.... indeed they are both very great.....
Mills is young so he probably needs time although a average of 239 is not really good. I wonder who his unlucky victim is... I would laugh if it is Sujon.

After falling to 70 for 2 form 50 for 0 NZ picked it up and are currently at 134 for 2 only 77 runs behind. This is the score at lunch. Vincent is at 38 while Cumming is at 42, both not out. SL most successful bowler is Vaas with 2 wickets.

Vass was almost at a hat trick early on the third day by gettting Fleming and McCullum out in consecutive balls, but he missed out on the hat trick as Franklin hit the next ball away.
Currently rain is delaying the game. NZ are at 297 for 6 with Vincet 93 not out. They are still on their first innings, but have a lead of 86. Vaas has taken all of the NZ wickets so far.

Something is terribly wrong. Mills is destroying the Sri Lankan attack. Malinga has got a bit of stick from him.
432/7 Vincent 175* Mills 27*

Vincents highest test score of 224 takes NZ to 522 for 9 declared. NZ had enough time to dismiss Jayasuria as SL finish the day of at 10 for 1 still 301 runs behind.

Well the fourth day has started and SL are now at 99 for 3 with Sangakarra and Jayawardene still on. Mills of NZ got one wicket of Maharoof (nightwatchman.. most likely). This must be Mills best test match. He has doubled his total wickets to an incedibaly large 2. He also got his highest test batting score that was increased from 29 to 31.. congrats to him.....
