Hmm.. Mushfique Babu khepse :) Good all-round performance by him. His bowling had begune to loose bite towrds the end of his Nat term.

April 12, 2005, 08:19 PM
yes and he still wont be that good at national level.

April 12, 2005, 11:04 PM
Did you see how expensive Sharif's bowling figure is? 4 wickets for 73 run! Not good enough even for the first class level!

April 12, 2005, 11:08 PM
4 wickets and 48 runs in the first class that's gonna become 21 and 1 wicket in the international arena . Don't forget Barishal is a very weak team . Noone in that team inform to play a good cricket .So , Mushfiq needs more to get back remember the last match's bowling figure against India of Mushfiq ?.oops:

musfique is performing very well too. so has been alok. i guess this tells the level of our national league because these two guys failed misrabelly in the national team. performance in national league should not be the way to get into the national team. it may be considered for the a-team. i would like to see musfique alok golam rahman waskoroni polash shahin in the a-team. guys like golam rahman mehrab jr i want to see them in the u-19 world cup too. i think that competition will be much harder then our national league. shariar nafees should be in u-19 world cup as well before he gets the call for the national team but its good he is getting some experience with the big boys now. another guy i want to see in the a-team is ahsanullah hasan. his domestic performance is excellent. he took something like 121 wickets in 24 matches which is excellent record. nabil samad also has good records in the national team. mehrab hussein is also performing well. its good to see that the selectors has large numbers of players to choose from but the question is how many of them has the ability to play in international level.

Rajshahi secured their first domestic one-day title with a 140-run victory over Barisal in the ninth round of the National Cricket League at Barisal Stadium. The win gave them 16 points, and with second-placed Sylhet's match against Khulna being abandoned, that was enough.

Rajshahi, who have won eight games in succession after losing their opening match, were always in control after posting 280 for 9, Moniruzzaman and Raqibul Hasan putting them on their way with an opening stand of 80 in under 12 overs, and then Anisur Rahman anchored the middle of the innings with a 90-ball 75. A fourth-wicket stand of 113 between Anisur and Mushfiqur Rahman ended the match as a contest. Barisal were never in the hunt after a poor start, and they did well to recover from 38 for 6. Mushfiqur won the Man-of-the-Match award for his 48 and 4 for 33.

Dhaka remained in third position despite slipping to a second straight defeat against Chittagong at the Fatullah Stadium. Dhaka struggled to build any momentum and were held to 193 for 9 after winning the toss, with Ahsanullah Hasan (4 for 36) ripping through the middle order. Gazi Salahuddin cracked an excellent 90 to set Chittagong on their way to a four-wicket win - only their second win in the competition - and Shabbir Khan saw them home with a well-paced 61 not out.

Dhaka will have a chance to make amends when the penultimate round of the four-day Nation Cricket League starts on Wednesday. They need four more points from their remaining two games to retain their title.

how come they don't have reserve days? a team can lose the championship only because one of its matches (and an important one too) was washed out?

April 13, 2005, 08:29 PM
The 4 day matches began yesterday too.

all teams evenly poised after day two. looks like farhad reza and nazimuddin are continuing with their good form with the bat. naeem islam is also having a sound ncl. dhiman hasn't played many matches in the ncl, but somehow i've found him quite impressive (right now he's on 38 from 38). heard so much about him - would love to watch him play some time.

Hannan Mia seems consistent over the year. Good show.

April 15, 2005, 04:10 PM

hannan mia scored a 41 ball 45 - nothing to talk about.

another failure with the bat for kapali after bagging four wickets, three of which were tail enders.

the ncl's getting boring.
