Tigers plagued by injuries
STAFF CORRESPONDENT
At least half a dozen players sustained minor injuries when the Bangladesh national team concluded their practice sessions in Dhaka and are set to begin the second phase of training including net practice in the port city of Chittagong on Monday.
After a two-week physical training sessions at the Army Stadium and the Sonargaon Hotel, the national squad are expected to leave the capital in the morning today and will return on April 30.
The players and officials of the team expressed their satisfaction over the training but admitted they were suffering from minor hamstring and back injuries. However, team physiotherapist Paul Clouse is confident that all players will be available for selection for the final squad which is likely to be announced on April 21.
Mohammad Rafique, Abdur Razzak, Mohammad Ashraful, Enamul Haque Jr, Tushar Imran, Khaled Mahmud sustained minor injuries. In the final day’s session at the Army Stadium, Rafique, Mahmud, Tushar and Ashraful did not do any hard work and just jogged around the field.
Rafique, Enamul and Razzak are struggling with their old injuries. However, Ashraful is not feeling easy for his hamstring injury, picked up during the Duleep Trophy in India. Mahmud and Tushar sustained their injuries during the practice session last week. ‘We are working hard and are confident that all the players will recover soon. All of them have minor injuries and they will be all right before the team selections,’ national team physio Paul Clouse told New Age.
‘Injury is a part of sports and an athlete can sustain injury any time. However, there is nothing to worry about as they all are making rapid recovery when some of them have already regained fitness,’ added the New Zealander.

no big deal. minor injuries like these can happen after such physical trainings. but physical trainings are over and we still have a few weeks for them to recover.

we'll have a full strength team to give the english something to think about :)

They need to do something about all these trips to Sonargaon. That gym and the pool are'nt so great . Give me few bucks and a decent contractor and we will see a fine set up at BKSP in a year!
